  1. Yeah I hardly use my D20 either.

I've used White Lightning's for years. Ultra 1200s....

If you do portraits allot of portraits I highly recommend investing in an 85 1.2L.

Yeah I tested that and the 70-200mm 2.8L at B&H while I was buying the 5D... I wish I had another $500 to blow so I could have jumped for the prime.

Ah crap. I hate having zooms and primes that conflict--but tis the problem of a photographer collecting and amassing a repertoire of lenses... :(

  2. I love the 5D... the transition up to higher models of the Canon family is very smooth and easy. Now I can't see myself using a 1.5x crop 20D or any other camera for that matter.

With the battery grip, it is a workhorse. Between the 50 1.4 and the 70-200 2.8, portraits are a breeze and the workflow is just beautiful.

How do you like it so far (5D)?

    I love mine.

I don't know for sure if I can do it either. Business was very good last year and if it contiues it shouldn't be problem and the price has dropped lately so it got me thinking in that direction.

I just got the AlienBee Ringflash and it's pretty awesome. It's still in beta--but Paul Buff is a very kind man. He's updating as he goes along, giving the early adopters free fixes and hardware. For $400 it's unbeatable.

  3. For me, I looked through and did a Canon vs. Nikon. And I ended up going for Nikon.

Nikon has beginner, middle, pro, lenses, and Canon has beginner, pro lenses. So Canon is more expensive in lenses. From what I see online, Canon has cheaper body, but more expensive lenses and Nikon is the other way around. But it all depends. I think Canon is better for shooting stuff like Sports, fast movement things. Nikon is good all around. Canon is also good all around but probably especially good in fast moveing stuff.

Mmmm the infamous Canon vs. Nikon debate...

  4. The 70-200mm f/2.8 is a sexy beast too. Worth every penny, and tack sharp.

I'm just happy I finally can say I have one of those pretty white lenses. Chea.

The good stuff is never cheap. My advice is always get the best you can afford.

    Quoted for truthiness.

Fuck the zooms and get a Canon EOS5D

    Quoted again for more truthiness.

  5. Wow... Chicken, since you seem to have gotten to know your Omnigod's quite well... could you describe how it fits, or perhaps measurements relative to the size you bought?

That price sure is alluring, especially with those amazing pictures.

  6. yes sf party in nyc!!! suite party, or sidneylo's place (we could watch all the hipsters. like jane goodall among the chimps).

We could play dominos on the street too. Gangsta ass Dominicans all up in my 'hood.

I've got a patio twice the size of my living room. We should do it big--even though by the time I get back in January it'll be shit ass weather.

    Spring time? :)

  7. Vans sizing is weird. I wear 1/2 size smaller for slip ons, but not for the w)tap releases--they have smaller/fitted holes for your feet to go through, so I had to get a 9 in the slip on.

    Sk8 Hi's I could go a whole size down I bet. My 8 1/2's are still a bit loosey.

i think both shots look good

maybe u should have just left the tee covering ur ass instead of showing wat ever u r wearing beneath in the left pic

Maybe, but there's bunching in the left pic that's really awkward on my butt. It's not flattering. I didn't even realize it until I posted the pic, since when I turn around I can barely see anything ('cause I'm an Asian Without Ass.) The second one just falls more naturally without awkward creases, but still is a bit loose and not at the waist.

I hope it looks better. To me it does... significantly.

wondering what the chance was of grabing a pair of black raws in a size 27. Do dior homme shops still carry them and what season are they?

Also where did everyone get there black raws?

Umm in the NYC Dior Homme the smallest was a 27. And that's where I got mine.

  9. Anyway, it looks like you have no ass so pull them up!

Not being able to climb stairs because your jeans are so low is not a good look. I see guys in London with their jeans pulled so low their crack in pants is hanging out for all to see. Now that's not nice. If I wanted some crack I'd go and light up thanks.

Yeah. My stair climbing abilities have improved. I think it's just more wear plus less exaggeration of the slouch.

  10. Thanks guys. I may have exaggerated before the self-timer went off too. I'm always finding myself readjusting my pants and where they hang.

Hm. I agree in that pic it looks a bit off. I guess I should make it a habit to not keep pushing them down. Anyway, when I do, I look like an idiot since I can't walk up stairs two steps at a time hahahaha.

  11. Hey guys. I need some opinions... I'm about 2 months into these Dior 19cm raw blacks, and I'm just concerned with the whole anti-fit look.

Basically I'm wearing a 27, which is super slim on me, especially around the thigh+calves. I've worn the jeans hanging off my bottom for quite some time, even through the initial comfort issues with the waist going againist my skin. I'm not sure if the anti-fit look works with mine since I feel like they're on the slimmer-than-i-would-have-preferred look.

    anti-fit.jpg

Also, I've been wearing these on and off, switching every other day with my APC New Standards... will the thigh+calf area loosen up with more vigorous/prolonged/consistent wear? Just curious as to what I should expect, as the stretching has been minimal beside the waist, which I forced into stretching for an off the hip look.

Thanks y'alls. I can post measurements too if it helps. :)
