  1. I really dont know where to post this besides here... so can somebody explain me why i cant order from BiG, in the "CHECKOUT" after "Shipping Address" in the "Ship Methods" theres something like "Please select a Shipping Method!" (But theres no varaint to select) and under that "Error Description: DHL XML Repsonse missing result code" this is surely a a noob question but it makes me crazy

    thx

Sounds like a browser issue...I'd e-mail the admin, the whole staff is really helpful.

  2. I'd love to have cheep's long flowing locks.

They look fine...you could have sized down if you wanted emo legs, but they'll probs turn out fine.

I agree. The ball crushing fit is on the way out anyway. And if you really want them tighter, give it another hot wash or two.

  3. How did you wash? Hot? Dryer? From now on, I would stick to cold washes only, and hang to dry. That will prevent much more shrinkage. When they come out of the wash, I usually measure the inseam (while wet), and if they do shrink noticeably, I step on the waist and pull on the legs.

It was a hot wash, hang dry. Cold wash, hang dry seems the way to go. I put them in the machine but pulled them out before the spin cycle, and will probably do the same again unless you think otherwise. Dr. Bronners, soapwise.

  4. So...as a fellow USA owner maybe you can help me. I hot washed them when I got them, and I'm wondering how I can wash them going forward and avoid much more shrinkage. I'm 6'7" and the inseam is right where I want it.

  5. So i live in Vancouver & I've been wanting to get a pair of evisus for some time

so I'm at this store & i find these evisus for just under 300CND

    ES08HMJE15_2.jpg

they're the same pair as on the US site

the lot number on the leather patch on the waist is 0001 if that means anything & their mad in Macau

i was just wondering if they are worth the 300?

Should i save up a few grand money & fly to Osaka & get a pair (which i doubt i'd be able to accomplish any time soon) r get a credit card & look online for superior denim

Try the evisu thread...The paint on those makes them a no go for me, though.

  6. I was thinking of making a new thread, but I decided since they are all pretty short questions, I might as well post them in here.

1.) I've only owned one real dry pair of denim (The Hundreds Stay Platnum), but they are black. I have a pair of selvedge UNIQLO S-002's, but now I'm wanting a nice pair of raw indigos that will last me a LONG time, and a pair that I can really wear out nicely. I've been looking at the APC New Standards for a long while now, and they are within my price range. I tried on a pair of Nudie Svens, and they fit great, but were to much for me (and I hear APC jeans are better quality). Would the New Standards be a good pair to go with?

2.) I also have been looking at the fitment threads, but I never really saw the question directly answered. I really want these New Standards, but I know they fit slim. How do I make sure that my thighs won't look like stuffed sausages? I'm pretty built at (I'm a little over 6' and 180 lbs.) and my legs are muscular from lifting. I think my true waist is a 32, so I should probably go for the 30" or 31" in New Standards, correct? I'm just concerned about the thighs.

3.) I'll be coming through Los Angeles this weekend, is there any where (maybe the Fairfax area or Melrose) that would have some APCs to try on?

    1) Most people are going to tell you (me included) that if you're going to drop money on a pair of jeans you want to wear for a long time, it just makes sense to spend the extra cash and upgrade to something you'll really enjoy. But, in terms of price/quality ration, the New Standard is definitely a solid choice. If you just can't afford to go much more than that, I understand, but spending that extra money on Nudie would be a waste anyway. Go japanese, you'll be glad you did.

    2) I wore New Standards, I have the same true waist, and a 30' felt good, but I'm pretty skinny. I'd say a 31' might work for you,but I did the same when I tried them on and it made the waist area look really baggy. APCs are sanforized, so it's unlikely you'd get much shrinkage anyway. I'd just try them on and see how they feel. Maybe a 31' with a soak would fit perfectly, I've just never tried it.

    3) The main page for superfuture will have all you need to know...the retail directory works great. APC.fr if you're pressed for options. Their web retailing system works well.

  7. Cheers for the quick reply gimmegimme, i thought it wouldnt be worth it. Might as well save up - thought of gettin some Nudies as ive read theyr a good beginners denim and in the summer i might have some money saved up for some sammies...if anyone wants some H&M sliq's size 34, you know who to give a shout!

Don't bother with Nudies. Seriously. Just hold out until you have a enough money to do it right.

  8. I will go overseas with my next purchase if it means I can get the model I want, but I really liked dealing with the staff at BiG, and I like that it's a domestic ship, so I'd prefer to stick with them if at all possible.

  9. Tall guy here, also looking for jeans. The only jeans I actually own are APC rescues and they are a great straight cut for tall guys that arent rail thin. If you need sizing help on those I pretty much have it down to a science as Ive had 3 pairs, they arent heavyweight denim though as you said you're looking for.

Im looking for jeans also, but on the lighter end of the spectrum. Some straight legs I'm considering: Somet 003, Atelier LaDurance Prescott, Samurai S5000vx, and Stronghold Straights.

If I didnt think Id sweat my balls of in them Id love a pair of Ironhearts.

It sounds like you're talking about the S5000VX. It's slim but not ball crushing, and the inseam will give you plenty to work with. I went with the USAs, which if you want to avoid some of the sizing issues people have been seeing lately with heavyweight stuff, it could be a good bet: it clocks in at 15 oz. My one complaint was the cinchback was poking me, but you need a seamripper and like 2 seconds to take care of that one. And the details are great. The selvage is super sick.

I'm 6'7" 165 lbs, typically wear a 32, went true to size, and they fit pretty much perfect.

  10. So I've been wearing my USAs since Friday and I'm really pleased. The jeans are just beautifully put together...love the details. One minor complaint is that I ended up having to remove the clip on the cinchback because it was poking me in the ass. Since I did that, the work perfect. I really recommend snapping up a pairr.

  11. note to self: see tall homie walkin round austin in good denimz? this dude.

You'll see me drunk and walking around plenty next week if you're downtown.

Also, they don't advertise this on blue in green, but they got around the copyright issues by stitching the arcs inside the pockets on the houndstooth fabric. I'm hoping they start to show on the outside with some more wear and washes.

  12. I put on my USAs last night damp to see how they shrank. My estimate is that it went from a 33" waist raw to 31-31.5". I'm wearing them now and the fit is really good. I'm stoked because the fabric is bound to strech to the tagged size of 32. The selvage on these is really sick...the silver lame weaved in is really subtle but awesome. It's on the coin pocket, the legs, and the cinchback. The fabric is still plenty stiff even after a hot wash: it'll probably need a couple more to get all the starch out. I'm really pleased with my purchase. I bought true to size and they fit exactly how I wanted. They're slimish but not ball hugging. The length works just right, but i'm 6'7" so that might not be the most useful info for you. I'll upload pics after work.

Oh yeah, they're lot 9, so you could dodge a lot of problems by getting these.
