  1. The story is they lined the pocket with houndstooth fabric: that's what has the arc is stitched into. So the denim and the liner did not shrink in the same way, hence the creases. I like it, it's different.

  2. Hip flare is no big deal. Wear and wash them plenty and it'll disappear.

Also, I'd like to say that for my body type, altho the fit guide recommended going down 1 size on the s5000bks, true to size works perfectly for me. I'm 6'7" 170 lbs.

  3. anyone got recomendations for a jean that's good for cycling?

i know the SelfEdgexIronHeart are cycling specific, but they are out of my size.

any suggestions. as i ride approxamatly 10 miles a day.

I really like the fit of the s5000 straight-leg silhouette when I'm riding...I just like it in general. You're just going towant to wash your jeans weekly (probably) to prevent blowouts, no matter the fit you choose.

  4. im curious why everybody suffers from crotch blowouts

i never had this problem with my samurai or diors

is this from too much sizing down or giant penises

Most of it has to do with the lack of washing. Washing tightens up fabric and makes it last longer. Getting that super high contrast is done at the expense of the fabric.

  5. I have a quick question for anyone who's ordered a 2008 model, I tried to search this thread but 4.0 search seems to rarely turn up results now. Are all 2008s lot 11 ( I assume so but just want confirmation)? I'm looking at picking up some 130xjs which are back in production for 2008 but I want to make sure I won't have the same sizing issues I've had with some of my lot 10s.

I don't think it's uniform...it will depend on where you're ordering from and their current stock. I ordered from BiG last week and the jeans are Lot 11. Maybe what you could do is call in your order and have them check which lot it is for you. The employees are super nice and helpful.

  6. Took my USAs with me to a mountain wedding in North Carolina...and got some cool wear as a result. I'm going to look for my camera cable and will hopefully have photos up later.

  7. Im sure that this has been asked somewhere in the 4 million posts on this thread but I cant quite locate it. Anyway, thinking of getting a pair of the S5000VX 21oz. Usually a 34 in all Flat Heads and looking at the sizing on BiG, maybe a 34 or even 35 would do for me in the Sammies. Anybody any view on how much these stretch? I want a 50s type boxy look so not too much slouchiness from these Im thinking.

    Thank you.

All depends on how often you wash them and if you wash them when you get them. If you do wash initially, and stay in the habit of washing regularly, then buy true to size. If you're planning to wear those raw (suicide, IMO), you're asking for trouble.

  8. I think you'll find that if you don't wear them for too long between soaks or washes you'll be fine. My sams fit me better now than they did when i first started wearing them...and I thought they fit great at first. I think you'll be really happy with those jeans if you stick with them.

  9. Those look really nice. I'm currently agonizing over what my next sammie purchase should be. My USAs have plenty of life left in them but seeing all these great models out there right now makes me want to stock up!

  10. nope wat i dont get it is why does the jeans length says 36 when it is long by so much and after a wash will it shink ? cause i thought it will have a better fading if i wear for some time before washing it .

Because the jeans are shrink to fit. If you notice, the waist measurement isn't the tagged size either.

  11. yeah if you hot wash + dryer expect your leather patch to turn into a piece of plastic.

Another piece of advice that really worked out for me was to NOT LET THE JEANS IN THE SPIN CYCLE. Put them in the washer with soap, let them get through the first part. When you hear the water start to drain out, open the lid, take out your jeans, and let the spin cycle run. Once it's finished and it starts to fill up with water again, drop your jeans back in there and let the washer rinse the soap out. Then, same drill when the spin cycle starts again. This will save you a lot of indigo. Don't hang dry them soaking wet: lay them between two towels and soak up as much moisture as you can, then hang 'em.

  12. Very nice..surprised howslim they look...for a sec I thought of Skulls 510...

Thanks! I think it has something to do with my height...i don't get the normal baggy stacking most people do because a 36" inseam is just right on me.
