Serioulsy, if youre not going to offer constructive criticism, then either post some of your own shots or shut up, this is a thread for people to share their work, not slag everyone else's off.
he asked how the sky is off, i answered...
who are you to say what the thread is for or how it should be used?
you need to stop being a little bitchh

How the hell is the sky off? Its blue. There would be no motion blur if I used a tripod anyways.
its mottled and grainy, unevenly shaded, very HDR.
and leaves,
they can move you know...

Kenmon of course, I know, I read the whole review before posting it up...
I'm looking up about whether I'd care to have a ball head or 3-d head. Going for 3d most likely due to price issues.
Update on induro... not many people seem to have reviews of them aside from those I posted. I saw about prolly 2 other reviews/mentions on other forums about them and it's not looking great ... basically price is good and only one huge negative report. So I dunno... they have some good packages that're avail through amazon complete with a (unreviewed) ball head. I'll keep reporting back with any useful information .
Also, corter thanks for the information on amvona, I'm getting alot more review hits on their tripods and tripod heads. I went to the website and saw a sale going on!! Yay. It's got alot of Dynatran stuff and there's some (kinda old) reviews online from the photography-on-the-net forums that give a thumbs up on amateur use. Looks okay (and really tall) for the price.

you really can skimp with tripods/heads
amvona is better than walmart shit but thats about it.
if you want something light and strong, you're gonna pay
ballheads are worth the price premium, imo and those of pro/heavyduty users.

just picked up the BG-E3 battery grip and speedlite 430 for my xti.
I feel like i can chase britney and take pictures of her snatch
you can do that with a point and shoot.
everyone and anyone in those areas suddenly thinks they are hot sshit paparazzo.
even worse than the real paparazzos

I'm thinking about getting something from induro... just the begining of my tripod search mind you... but looks like the price is nice + has good height over a few other similarly priced tripods.

(has an in-depth review that's pretty honest including one about a slightly user-error problem)
haha you do realize you need a head right?
and the tripod you linked to in the 2nd / the one that mr reichman is talking about is around $600.
kinda out of your price range

yea, i did the steps, it said i qualified...then it never showed up in my account. i've been emailing the live people back and forth for like, i dont know, whenever that happened...it's a giant clusterfuck over there, i doubt i'll ever see my $100. like i said though, it was still worth what i paid, so it's all good even if i have to take the loss.
did you get an ebay message about cashback right after you paid for it?
0 -
yea, i wanted one for 2 years and finally bit the bullet a little while ago. i hit the 35% off thing with the live/ebay deal...except it's processing and hasn't actually worked yet, it's been a month and a half ordeal with the live people and i'll probably never see my cashback. still...i'm glad i bought it, its really nice to have a nice film camera with me all the time.
whats wrong?
if you did the steps correctly, it ends up fine, just have to wait 60 days.

You guys have any info or point me to a good thread online showing some good Tripod reviews?
I'm looking for one that is easy to set up quickly, okay portability and tall. Most tripods I've owned were budget + they're really short
Thanks sufu... I also wouldn't mind it if I could find a way to get something under 100.
hi, i need a spacious car, that can go over 150 mph, needs to be really compact, plus it has to be easy to drive. oh and needs to be under 10 grand.
not gonna happen.

actually it's not raw but rare (is that how you say it ?), it's cooked on the outside but limp on the inside. well you see what i mean. so i guess the possible shit you can get are killed anyway. and i think this come straight from the butcher so i don't take lot's of risks.
otherwise, i really love tartare, completly raw steak, it's amazing with a good sauce and some french fries.
it was seared, if it is mostly pink and just warm in the middle like it should be, the germs arent really killed, but with fresh meat no worries.

minced meat shouldnt be raw tho...you can get the worst shit if the meat isnt 100% fresh.
but like always..each to his own
thats why one should try to get burgers from places that grind up their own (good) meat fresh
or just do it at home with steak that one grinds up fresh.
medium rare (more rare than medium) are delish.

^sorry, but that's shitty.
srsly.
sky is extremely off and the motion blur is gross.

^ In that case, you should purchase a hood. There are debates all over whether a hood is all you need to protect your lens or not. Some people say it is perfect for everywhere EXCEPT near water, but some people want to have the extra safety of having their front element covered as well.
Whether purchasing a hood for the kit lens is a good investment is a different issue, however. It may not be compatible with any lenses you are going to purchase in the future so that is something to consider.
if he is worried about dust, a hood isnt magically gonna make the dust disappear

Thanks for the tip! Right now, I'm just using a 18-55mm kitlens. I already removed the dust on the inside (and the element) the other day, when I bought my filter. I'm more talking about the dust that gets on my filter while shooting. I usually just blow it off, but sometimes this doesn't work as well.
you didnt remove anything on the inside, you just cleaned the rear element
stop worrying about dust, your lens sucks and the dust isnt making your photos worse.

I would send it in to get it removed assuming you are shooting with expensive glass...
why?
ps- you are wrong.

I got two questions I hope you guys are willing to answer:
2. How do I remove dust from my lens? I already bought a UV-filter, because I was too worried about getting dust on my lens itself, but I notice that when I take pictures when it's windy, I get a lot of dust on my lens. Do you always carry those dustcloths for camera lenses with you?
haha, dust.

http://www.nikonians.org/html/resources/guides/technique/handholding1.html
How many of you guys hold your camera sideways as shown in those pictures? I'm used to holding it the way the guide says is wrong
who cares?
1d/d3 layout makes it all pointless anyway

I needed to pee really bad so ran to the bathroom on the second floor. the door was wide open so I figured no one was in there. wrong. my dad was taking a piss. I didn't look directly at my father's johnson but I definitely saw the dark pubic region out of my peripherals. I think that was the fastest I ever ran out of a room.
now I'm sitting here hoping not to make eye contact with my pops for the next few hours.
super awkward.
your life is over, move out and get adopted or something.
its gonna be etched in your cranium forevahhhh

ugh bike on ebay for 600, worth 2000ish, was gonna buy but hesitated for a minute, someone else bought it in the 3 minutes that the listing was up.

i hate that feeling like no matter how much stuff you do, how much time you spend with people, whatever you buy, how much you get out of the house, however much you think your having fun, you still feel like something is just plain missing and that everybody around you isn't worth even talking to. I feel a need to go roam streets of new york all night. Maybe that'd help.
the last time i had that feeling, which wasnt that long ago...
i hopped on my bike and rode for miles and miles at night
it was so much colder than during the day, and it felt amazing.
the streets were empty so i could do whatever i wanted in the middle of the road

ooh keep remembering good nuggets
at my friends house when i was like 8 for a sleepover
we are up kinda lateish eating or w/e
we hear a helicopter and see it's a police one, searchlight searching all over the backyard and neighbors houses, my friends dad goes downstairs, gets a shotgun for himself and a pistol for his oldest son, who then go to all of us kiddies and tell us to sit tight and relax.
turns out there was some sort of fugitive rapist on the loose, in our neighborhood.
that family was so badass, dad secretly smoked alot, mom was frenetic and crazy, whole family ended up having to move because they sold their house, bought another one, the other house didnt really belong to the person who sold it, they couldnt move back to their old place since it was already sold, and ended up having to move far away
another time a bunch of us were fishin when we were like 9-10
there is this like large reservoir lake type thing across our street
its all fenced up but we went in their often.
one time i had a line in the water, there were some stripers and carp there amongst other things.
was using strong line, well tied hooks.
something huge and strong bites and breaks 50 pound line with well set drag, meaning it was a monster.
it wasnt the open ocean or anything, so it had to be some sort of monster, seriously.
attached to that lake is a kind of field, that you need to walk through some bushes to get to.
on one of our fishing trips we found the wallet of some random mexican dude, next to an area of grass that was sorta human outline shaped, and oddly void of much plant life, when everything else around it was overgrown, wallet was just creepy, as was the odd stain on the ground under it.
also where the water narrows, there is a small bridge overhead that is like sidewalk wide with tall chain link fences on both sides.
one day we noticed that in the middle of the fence on one side, there is a human sized hole cut in the fencing, but the only place that would lead to is the water 15-20 feet below which was very shallow, and had concrete under it.
we always wondered if someone killed themselves and got washed downstream.
supposedly (99% true apparently) a former teacher in the area years ago used that bridge to do terrible things to a young female student at night.

oh ya, my dad taught me how to ride a bike by making me ride at the park...
on the edge of the water, so if i fell i wouldve drown.

well on my monitors, which are calibrated the colors are awful.
that is a fact of my opinion and simple color checking using software.
negative criticism helps when one (notice no personal attacks, carl) doesnt take it personally, instead just takes it and learns from it and moves on.
if i tell you that something sucks, imo.
make it better, especially if the poster themselves admits faults that they noticed in their image.
all criticism is basically constructive, its just when people get their feelings hurt that they dont learn from it.
if i am baking a cake and someone tells me that it sucks, ive learned that whatever im doing is making it suck therefore i must try another thing.
clouds or not, the hdr has made them look awful
