  1. I've got a D80, and I'm looking to get a telephoto lens for wildlife shots on a safari, any suggestions??

Do you already own the Nikkor 80-200VR, not really a tele but imo perfect for the job.

You don't wanna be switching lenses all the time in a dry and dusty environment.

big man on campus, i think the first one is a better lens in general.

  2. Several people I know who collect vintage jackets have gone the sizing down route and have the pictures to show it looks better - John Chapman used to have a photo (I think it's on his cd now) of himself in sized down Flightsuits Historical A-2 sized down (normally wears a 44 or 46, wore a 42L in Flightsuits) and it looked good. Some others on the Flight Jacket forum have also done this.

The pilots who originally wore them also did wear them sized down i think, in old pics they look tighter and shorter than the way most jackets are worn today.

Sometimes they even wore their flightjackets with a coat overneath.

  3. ^ looks very nice Tyang

oh, awesome i'll have to look into it...i really only use mink or neatsfoot oil. i'm looking around for a nice creme/treatment to make a darker brown piece without dyeing the leather, did you tan it a lot or did the creme darken it? glad you like it man, i can't wait to see evo in a few months

I did tan it for 10 days, but we don't get a lot of sun out here these days so that's why it took me so long, didn't see much progress in the first few days.

I was kinda surprised how dark it got when i started treating it with the creme, the colour turned out like a very nice caramel colour.

the difference between the tanned parts and the untanned bit underneath the strap with the coin shows very well now.

I'll post evo-pics again in a couple of months.

  4. ah I was wondering if those whites and indies would show up again on the thread. I was more than tempted to buy the indies but you beat me to them.

This was my chance to get both the shoes that were way up on my list, and with the Cat's Paws job on them, i just couldn't resist.

Needless to say i love the look and feel of both.

The high arch on the White's is very comfortable, i can use the support on my flat feet.

  5. Been following this thread pretty close lately, like it's been said before, this is defenitely the best thread on sufu.

Today was a pretty nice day, i received my Cat's Paws White's and Indy's from Greg (thanks again, great to deal with you!) after their almost 3 week travel.

They fit great, just my luck Greg seems to have the same broad feet i have.

I had just time to shoot a few pics wearing the White's before it got too dark.
