are the Helmut Lang and Nudie pieces' waist bigger than tag due to stretching? What waist are you normally?

No - I've tried on the Helmut Lang and wore them for less than half an hour - I'm pretty sure they didn't stretch. And the Nudies are unworn as well.

I'm a 32 waist in Lee 101s, a 32 in Baggy Björns and a 33 in most other jeans. The Helmut Lang and Straight Sven fit me perfectly.

what is the rise measurement on the helmut langs? also, they're tagged 32w, but measure to be 35 inches in the waist?

rear rise: 37 cm (approx 14.5)

just re-measured it and might be closer to 36.5 and 26 cm.

as for the waist: that's what I've been wondering myself - maybe there's something wrong with my measurement? or the conversion? i measure in cm and convert to inches x2.54

However I'm usually a 33 waist in most other jeans and those fit me perfectly...

sorry to dig this thread up - but after all the discussion about shrinkage on the studio d'artisans, i am a bit confused. how reliable are the measurements that SD gives on their website?

can I trust the measurements? from my understanding they are after shrinkage. what are people's experiences after they washed their pairs of SD? do they come close to those measurements?

and finally i would appreciate any hints of which size I should get in the SD-001s when I'm a true size 33...?

So again: are their measurements for unwashed jeans before or after washing? I'm guessing it would make sense if they gave the actual measurements, thus before washing - but prior to ordering I would just like to be sure...
