  1. I cant speak for CBT but im betting cash on him not coming down to london for it. Im doing an internship currently and im at work 9-6 everyday. So i might possibly go on saturday however i expect it to be raped by then. Also last time i went to a sample sale last year it was a slight disappointment however you never know what gems you might find.

  2. wait... so you took gordons time and energy to find the right size and fit you wanted, and then bought them from japan? if so, neg rep.

Dont see anything wrong with it and im sure you have done the same at some point even if it less hassle on the shop. Also its clear BIG cant supply all the fits, sizes and details so at the very least they have some nice feedback from someone who might at another point in time become a customer.

  3. why? i thought you and paulo were watching it?

I think he means because its now on the forums and is likely to go for more?

Dunno either way i dont think we want it that badly but might stick a bid in at some point if i feel silly.

I like how the guy with the brand new ones is now dropping his price to £550. Once these sell for like £90 he will be wishing he took my offer for £300.

  4. Sounds fairly bizzare. If the box was broken anyway and you offered to send it back i cant see the problem. Personally i think you should make im aware of the feedback hes now going to have here on a community who are fairly interested in some of the items he sells. Another online shop to avoid.

Edit: To be fair after browsing abit of his sites i would avoid it anyway just based on how poor the website works on safari.

  5. will the title of this thread ever change?

is it me or is the chainstitch of evisu (evidently my 2000 compared with my sams, okis, and levis) jeans a lot more prominent than other jeans?

They seem to be more then my Skulls however the HIdehiko Yamane jeans have the best and most prominent chainstiching ive ever seen. Might take some pictures at some point.

  6. now, a jp 2000 cut in one of the more interesting heritage denims would be awesome.

You can pick some up on ebay sometimes. At Some point Evisu japan made some lot 2000 in the d85 denim for the european market. Already lacking the red tab and with no painted pockets.

  7. I think cheap pretty much cleared things up.

Yeah i guess they are and im prob just biased against them after all the crap ive read about them being money grabbing so & so's. However i still find it funny we have all heard it but they never seemed to make it a point to use in their advertising.

  8. That same article also states " our Japanese Mills," and points out that that specific denim is manufactured by the kaihara corp.

Apart from the interview (to be fair its a pretty good source) i will still have my doubts until i see Evisu explicitly say that the D85 denim is only made in japan. The article is abit sketchy as the NO.1 and NO.2 denims are introduced as Japanese made but none of the other denims have that explicit claim.

Also on the cloth tags again NO.1 & NO.2 are explicitly referred to being Japanese but nothing on the other denims.

Also ill point out that i have nothing against some of the really good quality denim coming out of china like the ones being used by the Chinese Yamane Brand.

  9. I remember when Evisu claimed that all their heritage garments were Japanese denim.

Even this old interview states that:

    http://www.denimology.co.uk/2007/03/designer_q_a_evisu.php

Well then that could be the case though i still have my doubts on that claim. Mind you i dunno if i would want to put too much trust on someone who claims their favourite jeans they own is simply "My Evisu selvedge jeans". Yeah good going on the detail there.

Also they seem to make a point of saying the new No.1 and No.2 denim is made in osaka however leave it out for any of the other denim in the introduction to the new denim posts.

  10. I hate them! I hate you too! nah seriously they are a pain in the ass the zip keeps coming undone im checking my crotch like every 10mins. They are all im wearing lately as i havent had the time/cash to go repair my 2000's. Nothing great on them yet as ive only worn them for liek 2-3months tops. Might take some pictures but not yet i dont think.

  11. The heritage/european denim is made in Japan, but assembled as jeans in somewhere like Macau. Those jeans are probably made with similar denim, but assembled in Japan.

I thought the D85 denim was being made in china and as far as i can remember Evisu never made any claims of it being made in japan.

  12. I'm happy at least they are real.....Thanks for you help, repped.

I guess i should keep it then.......:(

    EDIT:Will they produce beautiful fade?

To be honest unless thats a special run you have the same NO.3 denim made in china as the other jeans you have. Its possibly a special run from the time when Evisu Japan made some Lot 2000's for the european market and i guess they then made some with the same denim for the Japanese market.

To be honest i would return as the whole point of getting them from japan is to get the better denim and the nicer details. You wont find many if any fade pictures of this in the japanese magazines. Unless you fancy keeping them just because of a slightly rarer red tab.

  13. does anyone in the US do the hand painting? like maybe BiG or the evisu store?

Not as far as i know. There are special events every now and again however these aren't very often.

If your super desperate for them you can send them to me in London and ill take them to the Evisu store here to be painted though i expect thats abit too much effort for you. :-)

  14. Sorry Paulo, it wasn't my intention to blow it up, just giving a heads up :o

It's probably not going to be interesting to US guys because of the conversion.

Nah thats cool im not too interested in them.

On another note anyone up for recreating kwans project in english or creating a how to tell fakes guide with me?
