  1. Snuggs, you know of a good bar in PDX that would be cool with a decent fake?

We need to have a little sufu bar hop with me, you, mikey, zelah, blake, and anyone else.

if you have a decent fake (preferably out-of-state) and we go in a group, i don't think you'll have anything to worry about, regardless of locale. most of the bartenders i know work in shitholes, so we could always slum it and not worry... ;)

(we're gonna have to break zelah's straightedge, btw)

  2. I drink rum almost exclusively at home. Pyrat, Mount Gay Extra Old, Captain Morgan Private Stock (fucking incredible in smoothies), and working on procuring some Ron Matusalem Classico, Barbancourt 5 Star and One Barrel Belize.

The world needs more rum drinkers.

i'd drink more rum if it was possible to get flor de caña in the states. mt. gay is a decent substitute, tho.

  3. How realistic is it to have a polo shirt tailored to reduce the overall length?

Is it a fairly easy process for a tailor, or would I be leaving the quality and success of the job as somewhat of a risk in the tailor's hands?

I picked up a couple of APC polos, and while they are a very well fitting body tapered shirt, the length is a little too much for me at 5'7.5"

    thanks

should be very easy for a tailor to take the shirt up a bit lengthwise. if the polos have side seam vents it might be a little more difficult, but nothing a professional can't handle...

  4. I'm a Sparks man ...or does that make me a woman? either way, pounding back two of the 7% tallboys sets it off for me before I move to either beer or fine, fine liquors

sparks took paint off my bicycle.

    no, i'm not kidding.

  5. the denim on these deadstock wranglers is nuts.. the weave is almost dobby.. well odd.

very iregular.. but i havent worn them so not sure what the indigo side looks like worn down a bit yet. reminds me of action man clothes.

looks like a broken twill to me, tommy. some slubs visible, but i wouldn't call it very irregular.

so i don't get diddy on my ass: how do you feel about broken twill, HJJ?

  6. probably should've gone with the filson...two weeks and i haven't heard shit. no confirmation, no response to emails, etc, etc.

anyone know what's up with these dudes?

I drove by their storefront in Portland this weekend and it was closed -- didn't stop to read the sign, but they might just be out of town for a week or two.

I wouldn't worry too much - Sam seems like a standup guy. You might also try getting in touch with kixslf, as I know he's done some work for them in the past and may know what's up.

  7. ^Whats in that? Looks like a quiche but in a pot? Looks delicious.

Great food pics everyone, I'm feel like I'm putting on the kilos just by looking at them.

pogi - i put the name in the title of my post, but it's not the easiest to see, i guess :)

it's a french onion soup. not very soupy - more like a casserole - but quite tasty!
