  1. Hey if you came to Toronto I could hook you up.

    What do you want?

Weed can be bought easily pretty much 24 / 7 at the mountain. just go around the statue. The weed is not the best, but pricing is generally fair so it's a good back-up option.

the vast majority of clubs will have a coke dealer, usualy not very hard to find either. and if you ever go to an afterhour, you can get pretty much anything there.

  2. I can't believe the Habs actually pulled it off. MTLiens went bonkers last night.

    What a game it was!!!

it's been 17 years since we made it this far, can't believe it's been this long

These guys are a bunch of idiot and we should give the police full authority to shoot them next time so that shit stops for good. 100 morons can make our whole city looks like a bunch of retards.....

  3. fuck, I know I am the tl;dr guy myself, but tl;dr (I actually did though). And I concur on the butt dialing, I swear I am gonna start wearing a belt clip holster or go back to the flip phone or some shit.

the only solution is to keep phone locked with password. Annoying, but very effective. Took me a while to get this.....

  4. the terrycloth W+H hoodies that i have are completely different than tiger fleece. the cotton is weaved like you'd expect on a normal sweatshirt (for lack of a better word). tiger fleece is much lighter, stretchy (and comfortable IMO) and looks completely different.

  5. What a game!!!!

i'm less confident about Pittsburgh though. Unlike the Caps, they have a great goalie and have much more depth. Will be tough to keep up when guys like Jordan Staal are on the 3rd.....

  6. what's the deal with this place with 70 dollar burberry prorsum?

    that's fucking crazy

sucks that i missed girl talk

it's a consignment store that mostly have woman's stuff, but i guess it's possible to find a bargain. only been a handful of times so i can't really comment, but it never struck me as somewhere i should visit more often

  7. OMFG WTF did i miss that O.O

How was it? Must be fun

i didn't go (there's and ~3% chance i can finish work early enough to see a show during the week), but judging from my past experience, it must have been amazing. Saw him at the Jazz fest about 3 years ago and it was completely nuts, guy ended carrying the whole show to the streets. Read not too long ago in a interview in the Globe and Mail that it was by far the craziest show he's ever done. bands always say Montreal has some if not the best crowd, but you assume they say that everywhere so it was cool to hear.

  8. Classic Avery, lol

who is apparently very much into the "fashion scene"...

i can't watch regular NHL hockey after the olympics, kida like driving a fiat after you've driven a ferrari....

  9. I've had a Blackberry for almost 2 years now (Curve 8320) and I personally cannot wait to get rid of it. It's still very much a platform for "business-use" I feel. The browser is horrendous compared to an iPhone or Android devices, I've had to have mine replaced twice due to malfunction hardware, and I guess it just doesn't suit my needs anymore. It does a great job of organizing and retrieving all of my e-mails and what not, but I'm ready to give it up for something new. I think depending on what you're going to be using your phone for it may be perfect, but if you want a multimedia powerhouse then you're going to be slightly disappointed. You ultimately will have to weigh out the pros and cons for yourself.

Probably not the best advice I could give you, but it's my personal experience...

being forced to use blackberry cause of work and i am dreaming of trowing that shit away. I find it sort of mind boggling that someone would actually get a blackberry for personal use when you have the option of android / iphone. Blackberrys were awesome 5 years ago, but haven't changed much since. For a device whose greatest strength is supposed to be emailing, i find it pretty retarded that in 2010, you still can't edit the text of a forwarded message......

I don't think i could live without a physical keyboard so i would get an android over iphone, but that's just me.

  10. anyone's a member of both waffles and what. i use what quite a bit and really like, but was wondering if there was anything waffles was better at or would make it worth it to try to get an account

  11. I'd had to re-sew buttons on almost all the blazers that i bought within a few wears after getting them. While it's not the end of the world, i always wondered how can you sell $1,000+ clothing and be unable to do something as simple as properly sewing the buttons. KVA and Dries were the worst offenders, in both case, had to fix the buttons before before first wear as was afraid the buttons would fall right off....

  12. my school buddies and i are going this weekend

i think we are going to the pop montreal thing tomorrow

we are staying at 1 rene levesque hotel

we got plenty of booze. we are coming around 8pm.

i have the same phone number as before

    whoever is bored as fuck

    should call me

wish i could, but it's 8 o'clock on a saturday night and i still have work and has tons to do tomorrow too....

    fuck my life

  13. went to the first game yesterday (got ticket at the last minute)

was a good games, habs beat the panthers 3-2

games got a little rough in 3rd period. was actually watching the highlights of yesterday's game at the gym during lunch and the games looked pretty intense for pre-season, Dion Phaneuf's hit on Okposo was hardcore, although legal....

  14. it's almost time. any big news with your teams?

half the team left, we have a new coach and new owners (well, not really new as they owned the club for 50 years before). not too sure i agree with our GM summer signings (especially Scott Gomez, which i'm not too sure is worth $8M / year), but looking forward to the new season regardless. don't have too much hope for the habs though, making the playoff will again be our goal.

early guess for a final: Pitsburg for the east, unsure about West, Detroit should still be killing it, but unsure of the effect of the departure of Hossa.

and this year is an Olympic Hockey year, Canada for 2 gold again !!!!

  15. depends how much you want to pay / how central you want to be? downtown / old montreal are nice areas, but are definitely far from ideal if you trying to learn french, as everyone will be speaking english. Plateau / Mile-End are very nice areas to live in, although the Mile-End has been invaded by McGill students recently.

Saw in the other mtl thread that you mentionned Griffintown. Griffintown is an old working class (with strong irish history) just south of downtown. The area is still really run-down and most montrealers have never really been there (i admit that i really visited for the first time this year as i moved close in old-montreal and the closest dog park is there). The area has been marked for a giant redevelopment project and there's already been a couple condo projects (which i believe are way overpriced given the location) so gentrification is most likely on the way. it wouldn't be my first choice of area to recommend though, sorta inconvenient in terms of neighborhood life and public transport, but you may find something for mad cheap.

  16. Go to a podiatrist and get custom molded orthotic inserts, you can just get one set and then switch them around with whichever shoes you're wearing. They're probably a little more than dr. scholls but they hold up well. I have a pair that is 5 years old. I used them in everything from soccer cleats to shitty onitsuka tigers, and they're still in decent shape. They are hard-molded, so don't expect to be gellin', it's like the difference between a waterbed and a high-quality firm mattress. Anyways even without insurance in the US I think they were only $125 or so.

    +1

makes all the difference. I have the worst flat feet ever, and can wear anything really comfortably (except dress shoe of course) with my insert. Mine were more expensive to make (~$400), but the process is really high-tech (they do a 3d version of your feet, complete with animation to show the "problems" when walking, etch) so i would say it's totally worth every cents. plus your insurance should cover all or the most of it. and if you are running or doing a lot of sports, New Balance does custom shoes with appropriate orthodontic support which i would recommend as the insert can be a little distracting when running long distances because of their stiffness. Insurance typically also cover that so you're pretty much getting a free pair of running shoes (or even sneaker if you're into NB)

the problem with flat feet is really dress shoe where pretty much your only option is $2000+ bespoke...
