just curious....do indys look good with slimmer fitting jeans and stacking (like flathead f310/3001s)? I tend to see jeans with larger hems and rolled hems than slim stacked fit...opinions??

i have gone through 3 sets (about to have a 4 set put on) of soles on my red wings in the last 2 years. these are worn about 2 days a week. i do live in nyc so i walk more. they're rubber not crepe.

is a aizome dyed warp and weft denim available at 45rpm flagship store in Tokyo. maybe that is it. price was very expensive around $1100 if i remember corrrectly.

First, I would call the NYC shop and see if they have it as they stock the 4060. You can also get on the waiting list (I did). I suspect that they might be able to go down to a size 7. It may take a long time though.

girlfriend purchased alden captoe boots in size 6 at Alden shop in NYC if I remember correctly the sales staff said they went down to 5.5....so small sizes are out there and wouldn't imagine would be that hard to find.

and the 45 rpm employees are rarely wearing some hard worn denim.

you must be going on the wrong days. m,t,w are the lightly worn days and th,f,s,su are for the hard wears. at least from what i have seen.

in nyc? where? need new old stock cats paw for my lone wolfs. these had old/dead stock cat's paw on them before and while they did wear out quickly and the soles were very hard i would like to keep the same look for the boot.

Today I took my White's Semi Dress and my older Indies in to a very good shoe guy to get Cat's Paws put on. A vintage sole for a vintage look shoe! The soles are as best they can determine, over 40 years old. The reason I took my Whites is to have them put a heel on there that isn't so Cuban/slanted.

ebay doesn't always make sense and it's winning bids do not always determine market value or pay market value. it just depends on how bad somebody wants (bidding war) something or if the bidder doesn't know of any other resource beyond ebay. i've seen items go for a super inflated amount and then the same item the following week go for much less than usual.

alden only produces a very limited amount of most shoes outside of the standard models and i don't know where these were being sold (alden of carmel) i know these aren't a standard boot and this is a popular size so it is also possible that the only way to get this boot is off ebay.

the aizome dyed denim shirt from last year. originally had silver buttons but switched them out for water buffalo horn. from what i understand the new one will be at a lower pricepoint than last years. maybe mid-500's. also an aizome dyed linen shirt that will be in the $2500 to $3000 range. should be interesting.

On a sidenote, they're suppsoedly getting some natural indigo dyed western denim shirts in this winter or something, one in each size that'll be retailing for 1k. I saw one of them and it looked really nice, not 1k nice though. Actually, I can't feasibly see the cost being 1k+, I think they got really ambitious with their pricing, but a kickass piece nonetheless.

can't believe the new york times building which will host the muji store is tied now for #2 with the chysler building on the tallest nyc buildings list. sorry i know this really doesn't have anything to do with muji but i was suprise today to find this out.

is that better? it was implied i was talking about "vintage" levis. would i waste my time on anything but?? i know it's hard to believe but the above statement is true. not every pair is going to twist the 1/4 of a turn we all like to see.

Regular STF 501s are also NOT selvedge. Selvedge "vintage" BIG E levis have a very pronounced leg twist. That is why the pictured jeans could not be vintage levis.

I think the real lack of leg twist disqualifies those jeans. I think thai fakes are not stf.
