  1. built up a new bike this morning. was originally gonna salvage a lot of the components from my old bike but ended up getting new everything pretty much. rides buttery smooth with the sugino 75 bb and new sram chain. stripped the paint and was trying to let it rust before the clear coat but after two weeks nothing really happened and i couldn't be bothered waiting any longer. don't know who made the frame but it's made of reynolds 531 steel with campag dropouts and fork tips. it's got 1422, 11 or tt stamped on the bb shell and 33 on the steerer. if anyone has any idea what it could be i'd be interested to know!

most beautifully shot movie i've seen in a while (although the CG with the universe and dinosaurs and shit wasn't really necessary at all) the way it touched on faith was kinda interesting as well but ultimately i found the lack of a plot a bit of a let down

  3. Building up a new bike, with a white lugged 55 cm Reynolds 531 frame and a set of Campy Atlanta 96 rims laced to Miche Primatos with a rear hub that fits splined sprockets. Really looking forward to the build! I've got a honey brown Brooks Team Pro saddle that I will plop onto it. Will be looking to kop a set of nitto stems and bars. Was thinking of chroming the frame and then masking the parts of the seat stay, chain stay, forks and lugs and powdercoating the rest a deep canary yellow. Chroming is gonna cost more than the frame though so I been thinking of clear coating after sandblast and possibly letting it rust a bit for a raw look. What say you?

I need to make more time to read; started this at the airport lounge and over a four hour flight a few months back and still haven't finished it. Remember it conjuring up emotions and watery eyes, which I haven't experienced from a book for as long as I can recall. On a more rational leve, I find the way in which Steinbeck casts the agricultural revolution an over-exaggeration, but I suppose one can draw upon a few modern analogies without too much difficulty.

  7. Hi,

I have a pair of Ann's lace-ups from her SS07 collection. Bought it online from Italy about two years ago but hardly ever wore it. It is currently listed on eBay Australia. I can ship worldwide at your expense. Looking for $450+shipping. Original box (in not so good condition) and dust covers also available but the box would cost more because of it's bulkiness.

  8. Just got back from a four hour ride. Wasn't all that far but it made me realise a few impracticalities when travelling longer distances on a fixie. No water bottle cage and didn't carry a backpack so no hydration handy. Had a flat out in the country and I didn't carry a spare tube, wrench or a pump. Thank goodness the diner had an adjustable for their plumbing and my mate on the road bike carried backup gear. Would've been a very long way home otherwise. Also very glad I wore padded lycra (under steezin linen shorts) and gloves. Chain came off the other day in a light crash but luckily there was a bike shop not far down the road.

Anyway, saw this the other day and thought it was very tidy.
