  1. Just checked my LVC 40's T and it has seams on both sides.

No, don't think so; i didn't notice that the above post stated US-made undershirts. I was simply making the point that if I can by a 100% cotton, circular-knitted shirt for $1.29, I would expect an $80 LVC repro to not have seams.
  2. Just curious, what makes them USAF Officer's shoes? Thanks

Not really looking better with age so much (as I have only tried them once in 2 years!) but thought i'd share anyhow. Gonna have to let these go soon I think so PM me if intersted before I put them on the market...

Amazing looking '55's Setterman, can't ask for better looking denim than that! Sorry you had patch repair problems. Here's a repair I made to my '47's sewing the patch from the inside. Yeah, it was difficult but I was just patient and sewed a little at a time. The piece of denim used for the repair is bigger than the hole so hopefully will re-enforce the weak area around it as it continues to see wear.

  4. Dated April 12, 1944 these boots are still looking pretty good and going strong for their age. Pretty crazy to think less than two months after these boots were made the invasion of Normandy began. The original soles and laces still have a lot of wear in them.

  5. Dr., your jacket was designed based on a 30's/40's work jacket. Back then trousers were cut with a longer rise so dudes tended to wear them higher on the waist than today so the jackets were cut shorter in length than we're used to. I think your jacket fit looks spot. Cool jacket.

  6. riff, sweet looking duck pants! I really like the re-enforced knees and what looks like copper rivets. Years ago I bought nice pair of 40's overalls from Zip. Nice to see he's designing some beautiful work wear. Thanks for posting.

I don't think I've posted these before - Stevenson's duck pants that I picked up last summer. Maybe a couple of months effective wear... Gardening, dog walking, active stuff.

They were raw and had one initial soak. No washes yet. Great quality & construction!

  7. Just bumped into this great pic on Sanforized blog, Could someone please ID that White Jacket on the left? Ta

It's got a similar cut like this short cropped 50's/60's Payday jacket:

  8. Btw, before you apply Pecards to the entire jacket test a small inconspicuous area like under a pocket flap just to make sure it doesn't adversely affect the color. You only need to rub a little into the leather using your fingers, let soak in over night, then rub any excess off with a cotton rag. Hope this helps!

  9. Ok, nothing special about this 60's workshirt. No gussets, cat eye buttons or chin strap, but vintage work shirts kick ass over the modern repro crap with short tails and narrow sleeves. Not to mention they can usually be found for way cheaper with a little hunting. I bought this Sear's shirt a couple years ago unwashed for around $40 (including storage stains on the front) and have been wearing the hell out of it ever since.

  10. Mike, incredible find! Thanks for posting the great detail photos. The details to the Moore's like the curved top of the watch pocket, the plain rivets and the simple back pocket design are very cool. Also, the crotch area looks like there's a separate piece sewn on for re-enforcement without a rivet.

With the belt loops and cinch back would you date them to the 1920's-30's?

Wouldn't it be cool if Rising Sun reproduced these beauties.

W.N. Moore better check himself -- them trademarked arcs on the back of those joints will get him sued. As always Mike, you contributions are tops.
  11. Looks like an Eastman Leather Clothing repro. The green stitching gives it away as an ELC. There should be a small tag sewn inside the pocket with a number printed on it. If you contact Eastman they could probably tell you when it was made based on that number. Eastman switched from using original Talon zips to repro Crown zips a couple years ago. Just curious, how much are they charging you?

found an A-2 in the local rock & roll store today - they put it aside for me as they didn't take cards, so i'm picking it up in the next few days... the guy reckoned it was an 80s repro, any thoughts? i didn't have time to take any more pics... the zipper is a talon btw. leather in nice condition.
  12. Yeah, the B-9 was issued later in the war (1944). They're extremely warm and equally as heavy. There were only three contracts issued for the B-9 during the war. The B-9 also had matching trouserscalled the A-8.

Someone sold this in my store today. Said it was his grandpas and only had the knits replaced. The zipper on the one side is messed up but still has the original Talon. Was wondering of anyone could give me some more info. World war 2 era I think.
