  1. Lookin to get rid of this guy. I hate to see it go, but it doesn't fit and it never will. It is a lot 213 LVC jacket. I think like a 20s and 30s repro. In my opinion the coolest denim blouse lvc has ever offered. It fits like a size 40, but will shrink most likely down to a size 38. Lookin for $200, but will accept offers.

  2. I don't want there to be different categories. If there was best dressed and most likely to succeed would be mine. I think when we pop in our votes folks should just be cognizant of the contestants participation.

And, I will vote for myself. It is against my vanity and ego to not do so.

  3. I just picked up the 44s in P16 (unsanforized LHT). Beautiful fabric and great subtle details. I suggest folks consider the lht that the 44s are offered in. They are P14, P16 and P18 I believe. There isn't much left, so jump on it soon if you plan on getting them. The regular cone denim that the 44s are offered in is great as well. i am considering picking that up as well, as a back up and maybe some comparisons down the road.

  4. Personally, I think the pictures are good and all, but let's maybe add some extra brownie points for folks that participated a ton with posting and general camaraderie. You know "royness." When we all vote, think about the folks that posted a lot, took their roys to some cool spots and all. Of course this leaves me at a large disadvantage.

  5. Finally I managed to get my account validated and I can now post!!

(having followed this thread for a long time)

What am I going to ask first?

I know: What size do I need to buy in the Ranch Blouse. I'm a size Large (102) in the Veste Ouvrier, my chest is about a 42.5". 5, 10" tall.

    These come up large?

And has anyone ever purchased the Casquette La "Deffe" French Cap here?

I would get a size 40 if I were you as long as the fabric shrinks the normal 8 to 10%. If the fabric is sanforized, then get a 38. You might want call mister freedom, they are more than helpful when it comes to figuring out your size.

  6. How much did your ranch blouse (J10's) shrink RNR? Mine didn't shrink that much at all. Thinking about putting them through a couple of spin cycles.. what size did El Topo get, anybody know?

I didn't end up getting j10. J10 is sanforized because the mf dudes told me the jacket they rinsed barely shrunk at all. I ended up getting j4 which shrunk quite a bit. Overall I think the jackets were way oversized like 2 sizes too big and there weren't many small sizes made like 36s and 38s. On top of that there were sanforized fabrics mixed in with the normal unsanforized fabrics making it really difficult for the mf folks.

  7. I dont know if anyone has picked up the Lot 44 Californians yet but if they have, I;d be interested to hear about the extent of shrinking after a soak or wash.

    thanks

The lot 44s have not gone through the soak process yet. The 44s are gonna be offered in a load of different fabric types like the jackets and all fabrics will have different shrinking.

edit: at least for the jeans at the shop. The normal 44s not sold at MF shrink the normal 8 to 10% I am assuming. I think it is unsanforized cone denim.

  8. Did you hot soak that jacket yet, RNR? I hate to say it, but cuffing the body looks a little goofy.

I have three different chambray utility shirts, and they all fit drastically different. Fine with me, though.

Yeah, full on hot soak with agitation. In general, I think the proportions to these jackets, except for Eltopo's apparently are a bit off. May have to do with the different denim options. In general, though, all the jackets I saw at MF had similar sizing and apparently there weren't too many 36s made, otherwise that would have been my option.

Cuffing the body isn't too awkward, for me that is. Ehh whatever.

Edit: Also, I love the fact that you can pos rep your own posts. It is akin to "liking" your own posts on facebook.

  9. So, I have the feeling that the ranch blouse runs a little long in the arms and torso, but nevertheless I found a way through it and I am loving this jacket.

Somewhat normal method. I don't like the length so much.

Here is the jacket the way I have been wearing it mostly. This makes it fit more like a standard 506/507 Levis denim blouse. I have basically rolled up the sleeves and bottom band.

  10. So I'm back and after checking out the jacket I decided I either needed a size 36 in something that didn't shrink much or a size 38 in something that shrunk a ton. I went with J4, which is the best of both worlds in a size 38. I really wanted J10, but it appears to be sanforized and a size 38 wouldn't shrink enough to make it wearable. Overall it seems the arms are pretty long on these jackets in proportion to the rest of the body.
