  1. No idea, I've only seen it online, I guess I was unclear:

1)I sqw the nice collective nightcrawler jacket online and wanted to get it

2)I went to a local store to check out jackets that might complement it and see what's available.

3)I really liked the cloak trench even though it wasn't what I was looking for

4)I'm not too sure what I'Mll get right now I initially though of checking out Engineered garment and nice collective but might end up getting the cloak or nothing at all...

  2. Depends of the winter, the fit is pretty tight so you might not layer much. Haven't tried it outside but I would say it would be usable in an urban setting (with a hoodie and maybe a longsleeves shirt) but not if you're planning to take a walk in the countryside.

You have to understand it's cotton not wool so depending on the harshness of your climate your milleage may vary.

  3. Mouko I understand what you're trying to convey by comparing sizing but you're not reflecting reality; an APC small might have the "body" of a large cloak for exemple but they both have shoulders suitable for people that wear the size written on the tag....In other words if you wear a large in cloak you probably can't buy an apc small because various parts (like the shoulders, maybe the arm and coat lenght) won't fit you.

  4. At the montreal Cloak retailer (and only Canadian shop to retail cloak if I believe the store list on the cloak website). I was basically looking for a new coat that I might pair with a nice collective nightcrawler jacket and went there to check the APC and Engineered garment coats. The cloak trench was an unexpected find (I usually dislike their stuff) and is definitely not my style or what I was going to get but it's so impressive I might end up shelling the dough...Too bad I'm totally broke right now. I just wanted to know for how much it retailed in the states...I think Milspex bought it I might end up PMing him.

  5. I tried on an amazing cloak military black trenchcoat today (probably from this season), anobody has this piece (are there numerous trenchcoats or just one?) and can tell me if $1000 is the usual sale price or if it's overpriced compared to what it sells where you saw it?

Here's a link to the coat:

  6. On theory: agreed, you look for specific pieces that stand out and don't touch the rest

    On Paul smith:

1)I'm 5'8" and a lot of the pieces (blazers/suits) fit me perfectly. Of course I'm very slim and wear a size 36 (even in the tight fitting designs of Paul Smith/Prada/DH/etc.) without any alterations for casual and maybe a slight shortening of the sleeves for more "formal" suits (of course the pants are altered). I need to watch out for shirts and especially some pants as the cut is often made for taller guys, but that is true of most labels. I personally think bigger guys should stay away from Paul Smith altogether anyway, it definitely doesn't suit them.

2)I agree some of the pieces are definitely out- there or retro kitsch but you don't have to dress in a full Paul Smith outfit and look like a runway reject. Like most flashy collections the trick is pairing them with more down-to-earth or basic pieces. I never wear all comme des garçons either...

  7. Pretty much EVERY designer makes a slim fitted blazer. Now my favorite pinstripe blazer is from a company I don't always support: theory. It's a wonderful 2 button black with white pinstripes. If I were you I would check out Paul Smith, the label is all about pinstripes right now and the fit is slim like you requested. Please don't go for a blazer made by a jeans company, those are usually crap and overpriced for the quality level...

  8. check out yoox.com you might find something quite interesting there. If the pants you like are still too expensive try to get the brands you liked on yoox from ebay....

For cheap but quite fashionable blacvk pants I'd check H&M and Zara.

You should apply to become miss Sweden, sounds just like a beauty queen quote.icon_smile_tongue.gif

"I like small children and expensive jewelry and I want to become a lawyer"

  10. Family run, Milanese company. Known for their flamboyant designs especially their signature paisley patterns. The fit is slim but slightly larger than let's say Dolce&Gabbana. They often add cool details like patterns on the inside of their colars or on the lining. Their recent fashion shows have had a decidely "tribal" vibe with headress and such. I love the Etro suit I have but it's definitely a flashy look. I would advise against wearing an Etro shirt with an Etro suit and tie unless you're want to look like a pimp. My suit is canvassed but I'm not sure it's the case for all Etro suits. The price point is pretty standard for good quality designer suits

  11. Personally I’m ambivalent on this. I guess I like the two extremes; you either wear streetwear or a high quality suit, crisp shirt, highly polished leather soled shoes and maybe a tie if it’s for work. I’m not into business casual which makes everyone looks like a cheap shoe salesman (nothing wrong with being a shoe salesman except the uniform btw…).

  12. Streetwear is what urban hipsters call their overpriced clothing and thriftstore finds. It's about using a better understanding of positional clothing goods and some $$$ to distinguish yourself from what you think as the masses and join an elite club of people in the know. It's always evolving because what is "cool" is a vague and always elusive concept.

  13. Saying that's innapropriate for a business environment is an understatement. I dunno what you'll use it for but aside from going out (and looking like you bought a kid's suit) this won't get much use....

  14. Here's a little bit of info about the Uniqlo 1-wash.

-I normaly wear a size 30 in pants that are true to size (like dress pants). My New Standards are 28 and the Uniglos are 30 and their sizing is uniform (no enormous variation like APC) so you should all get your real size unless you want them real tight.

-The fit is slightly more relaxed than NS through the legs, crotch and waist but the overall look is very similar

-The rise of the 1-wash is lower than on the selvedge Uniglo which is more 501-ish so you should keep that in mind when choosing which model to buy.

-As mentionned earlier the quality of the construction is inferior to something like APC but at $30 you can't go wrong

  15. I sometimes match tees with one of the non-white color of the shoes but it's not a hard and fast rule...For exemple I'll wear a lot of baby blue tees with blue/orange vans checkedred slipons. If we're talking about business wear of course I'll do the usual matching...shoes/belt, watch/cufflinks, tie/shirt/suit
