previous fits were great, but this just sucks... I dont care who designed it or how much it cost.

its wayyy too flamboyant to be taken seriously.

It's the scarf and the bag that are making the outfit seem feminine. Everything else looks good and fits well. Can't see the shoes though so the whole silhouette could change once the shoes come into play. I see plenty of people in these same brands that look terrible because the clothes don't fit. I don't really think Rajio's look is about the brand names, but rather the styling that they provide. To a certain extent this style is a bit costumey for most people, but I think Rajio pulls it off as well as anyone I've seen.

  2. new japanese salon, apparently

a little pricey but check it out

My girlfriend is going here this weekend. She was previously getting her hair cut by Hito at MudHoney but he went back to Japan. I also had my hair cut by Hito for the past three years and I've tried two places since.

First place I tried was K2 Salon (owned by this dude named Keigo...don't know if that's his real name or if he's into honorifics). Keigo was pretty good, was willing to talk about my style, preferences, etc. He also didn't do anything dramatic because he wanted the first haircut to be a sort of warm up. He said I could come back in a week if I wanted more done (at no charge). His skills were overall above average and I was very impressed with how my hair grew out. Keigo charges $50

Second place I went was Hair Kuwayama. I made an appointment at random and got a woman named Kaori. She was very skilled but didn't communicate with me as much as Keigo. She did everything right but I was unsure until the end. Her razor skills were more on point than her scissor skills, at least it seemed that way on my relatively short style. I think she understood how to cut my hair for my own head well. $50

Next stop for me is Shizen. Hopefully then the trial will be over and I'll stick with one stylist for a little while.

  3. i only drinks pinot grigio. the ice cubes keep it chilled.

Hot Chick at Bar: "which '05 Bordeaux do you think I should order?"

NESK: "What? Pinot Grigio with ice cubes. all day every day"

  4. i thought vietnamese, laos and cambodians stuck together?

at least that's one of chuckie akenz's lines are "laos, cambodian and vietnamese" (LCV)

    lawl.

and i don't think anyone likes the mien people (no offense to any miens) because they're rarely ever mentioned. i don't even think they were mentioned once in this thread. lol

Cambodians hate Vietnamese people. The countries don't have a very good history together. It's probably not as severe with younger people in the U.S. though. Similar to Japan/Korea dynamic but a little fresher in people's minds maybe?

  5. Off the rack brands that do a high collar (ie with 2 buttons on the collar...none of this crazy 3-button Lagerfeld shit):

    Borrelli

    Finamore Napoli

    Eredi Pisano

    Barba

    Guy Rover

Many real sartorial companies (not designers) from Italy offer this option but the best option is a MTM program (or bespoke if you're ballin). You'll find better threads on the other forums like the Men's Clothing section of Styleforum.

  6. Yes.

Bottom line, do no buy jil sander.

Word. I've never handled more expensive items that belong in the GAP. Their cashmere outerwear is questionable at best. The only thing they've got working for them these days is their Lattanzi made shoes (which they overcharge for but at least they are well made).

  7. Yeah, I think the white soles look gimmicky. Like "hey look at me!" desparation. Plus, the leather looks average...

    I'm considering these...(yes/no)?

    img10474469643yr7.jpg

For strictly casual use, these fit well into a Cloak inspired look. I agree that they are borderline too feminine though (I think it's the shape of the toe) With suits...no way. Unless it's like a casual Lad Musician suit or something. Based on your comprehension of different looks though, my guess is that you'd never wear them with a suit in the classical sense. $700 seems like a price ripe for a discount...

  8. Do Dior Homme suits ever go on sale?

They're on sale at Barney's right now. No good sizes left though.

Saw a sick Junya x Vanson riders jacket on sale for $600 too (one left in size large). All Lanvin sneakers were on sale too. Barney's sale is decent at this point but I'm sure the mark downs will get better.

  9. actually the desert boot was invented by clarks in the 1950's according to some internetz source. It was inspired by the streets of Cairo. The Chukka boot is derived from polo players boots.

Yeah this is getting a little more to the point. The "Desert Boot", invented by Clarks, was inspired by crepe soled boots that English WWII soldiers acquired in Egypt.

Anyway, based on every single google hit, your ballistic shits look like Japan exclusive. Just get someone to proxy them for you.

  10. I'm a vegetarian, used to be vegan, go to they gym and ride my bike for transportation everyday, play lacrosse, and I'm still a big dude. fuck da bad genes/jeans and medicine.

being vegan doesn't mean that you eat healthy foods or that you have a low calorie diet. Check what you're eating homey, therein lies the problem (provided that you really are working out).

  11. for real, who in the right mind would tell their boss that they want a few hours off to hit up a sample sale? If I said this to my boss, he would probably think I was joking.

  12. Don't forget Jamaican curry and other Southeast Asian curry. That stuff is the bomb. I was more referring to Japanese Curry...of course other real curries are more complex (correct me if I'm wrong, but there isn't any real curry powder in Japanese curry is there?). I would never group Japanese curry in with another type of curry but that's an interesting bit of history.
