  1. The stupid thing about this thread is that the people arguing and commenting on Supreme don't even seem to be from New York. New York doesn't revolve around Supreme. In fact, if you were wearing Supreme clothing and took a survey, most people in New York would call you a slob. My point here is that Supreme is a niche store in a niche market so this whole thing is just not that big of a deal.

I don't really buy any of Supreme's clothing but I do really like their hats -- the low profile fits really well on my head compared to Stussy's low profile hat. I'm not going to try to defend the guys at Supreme because in my opinion, they don't need it and don't really care. There are plenty of comparable products out there. If you don't like Supreme or their aura, just avoid it. And if you don't know....don't comment.

  2. Supreme clothing is actually pretty affordable in the store. Small changes occur from season to season but Tees and hats are about $30. Jeans are about 100, sweatshirts are between 100 and 150 depending on the weight. Their other shirts (button down, polo, whatever the season calls for) are all under 100.

I agree with the guy that said get your stuff and get out of there. There are way better places to spend your time in NYC than inside Supreme. I get my stuff and leave. Then I don't have to go back for months because they don't change the store very often.

  3. Anything produced by Evisu Europe is terrible -- period. The brand went wrong once they left the "denim lover" market and went for the "my jeans are more expensive than ever and we cannot explain why they are ugly" market.

  4. I've tried on the Supreme Selvage jeans and compared to the APC English cut, the Supremes have a higher rise and lower back pockets. Other than that, they fit fairly similarly. I didn't get the Supreme Selvage jeans because the 30 waist was too tight but the 32 was too big.

  5. Here is my experience with the APC English cut.

In the NY store, they had two washes: (i) Unwashed, as shown on the website and (ii) a very basic distressed wash. The size 31 in the Unwashed fit the same as a 32 in the distressed wash. The jeans are minimalist, but the unwashed indigo is VERY vivid in a good way. As for the fit on the English jean, I would say that they are lower rise straight/loose cut. I would not call them really baggy, but I suppose you could rock them that way if you wanted to. In short, the cut is not so baggy that you look un-put-together but its definitely not tight. You could rock sneakers with them or you could throw on a pair of nicer shoes and still look good.

I purchased the distressed wash and while I'm extremely happy with the jeans, I regret not getting the unwashed pair. They are wearing in well so far so we'll see. For sizing reference, I am a 31 in Edwin and a 31 in dress trousers like theory/vivienne westwood.

  6. My stance on Supreme has evolved over time. When I didn't live in New York, I took the stance that they were jerks. Now that I've been living in New York for a while, my experience there has been no different than any other Soho store.

I highly doubt that they recognize me but I just come and go as I please and pick up a hat/shirt here and there. They even encouraged me to try on some jeans last time I was there. Who knows....all of those stores are filled with seemingly over-priviliged punks who lack any ambition but will one day make it just fine. Don't blame them if they forget to help you...they are just high at work bro!

  7. Your philosophy on jeans sounds like this UK brand called Howies. They make a sweet 14oz selvage jean that is tough as hell. Check em out and order online at www.howies.co.uk (I don't work for them btw, I just think their website is cool if you read the material on it).

  8. Supreme was extremely popular in Japan before any Dunk SB was out. Supreme's prices are below normal for any small New York store so I wouldn't complain too much about their prices. My experience with their employees has been good, but I have witnessed some of their behavior towards other patrons that I consider to be unacceptable. The thing that seems to slip their mind is that they are at work. Often it seems like they are getting paid to hang out with each other and then they get their panties in a bunch when some Japanese dude picks up a shirt that they folded 3 hours ago. You're at work fellas! Boohoo if you have to fold one shirt per hour! All of their empluyees know one word in Japanese -- "Sumimasen" and then they go off in english on tourists.

  9. 91 Greene St for Bape. Prices and the clothes are no different than where you're coming from so don't expect much.

(Bape is definitely not on the Lower East Side but I would go to the LES anyway just to check out Alife if you've never been)
