Ralph Lauren himself called and said you should buy this jacket.

it ends at the waist and the waist is pretty slim. There are also tabs on the sides that could make the waist slimmer.
Waist (measured across the bottom): 18.5 inches across
I have have a 31 inch waist and there isnt much extra around my torso

Well, I think the notion of making double or triple your investment in less than a year is very unrealistic and sort of the image Hollywood and the media makes of the stock market. If for example to take a look at the S&P 500 index, which represents the 500 highest volume/net cap traded companies, the net change this year has only been 9.5%. That is to say, if you had all the money you needed and bought at equal weighings all the stocks in the 500 on January, your return would be only 9.5% today. In addition, hedge funds which represent the supposedly smart guys in the market, had an average of only 8% this year. So to put it into perspective your 10% from your mutual is actually beating the market. I'd say put more money into the fund.
To supplement what Rajio says here, super high returns are generally only seen in top tier venture and private equity funds. The obvious problem with top tier venture and buy out funds is that to get into these funds, you've gotta be a QIB and an accredited investor. Not only that, you've gotta get in before they're full, which is not an easy task.
I won't go into which top tier buy-out firm I am close with, but I have seen numerous instances in which individual investments have returned well over 10x within 2 years. The story-book returns that investors crave are often well-hidden out of the public eye. Some top tier buy-out funds from the 2000-2001 vintage have IRRs as high as 85-100%, which is basically unheard of.
As Rajio concisely stated above, expecting these kinds of returns from public capital markets is foolish though. As a basic investor in public markets, I'll happily take 10% annually for the rest of my life.

Seize Sur Vingt on Elizabeth St. in NYC does a made-to-measure cashmere sweater program. It's definitely not cheap though...

Perhaps what's best about those Eternals is that the fade is beautiful and THEY FIT WELL! So many people are wearing jeans that don't fit very well and quite frankly, look terrible. I know "it's about the denim" but seriously, there is no correlation between selvedge, dry denim and looking good in your jeans. A lot of these fades look good but I always wonder what the jeans look like when they're actually being worn. If they fit like crap, who cares about your fade? This guy with the Eternals actually has a pair of jeans that fit and the fade to match. The guy with those wack Somets tripped up on his first try. I hope we can all help him get back on track. I would recommend to him a repro fit, PRPS or Sorahikos.

It seems you're looking for boots with buckles, but if you're into Chelsea boots, check out RM Williams...affordable, fairly customizable and well made.

Bringing this thread back from the grave! Is the Evisu store on Greene St open yet?
0 -
Did you buy these at an Evisu sample sale or one of those "designer denim sample sales" in Soho? I think that's the clarification needed in this thread. If you bought them at an Evisu sample sale, they are probably real. If you bought them at non-Evisu sponsored sample sale, I think we all know the answer...

The other U.S. domestic brand that levis is going after is Abercrombie.

and on the "might makes right" theme, why haven't brands such as 45rpm and Evisu been targeted? They both produce tradtitional 5 pocket jeans with "Levi's" details such as hidden rivets. Since they are larger, more established brands does Levi's assume that they can't be so easily pushed around and instead focus on the "little guy" ?
Evisu (ever heard of Evis?) was the first repro company ever sued by Levis. There is nothing traditional about the 45rpm cuts...the Sorahiko fit changes a little bit every year (so I hear...I've only got one pair so I don't know from personal experience) and it's definitely not a repro.

Helmut Lang tank
MWTFS Dropped crotch leggings
Strategic Business Unit High tops
Way too feminine. Put on a pair of masculine jeans and this will look a lot better.

I've always been a fan of the Nakata...
You mean this? I did this for a while but the problem is that to do it right, you need someone skilled (ie not that cheap) and you need to get it cut frequently. The combination takes a lot out of your pocket.

Yeah lots of good regional food in Nagoya.
Akamiso
Misonikomi udon
Kishimen
Ichigo iri daifuku
I would also agree that Nagoya has its own flavor that is somewhat boring, but isn't completely lacking. Go to Osu-kannon, Yaba cho and Sakae. If you've never been to Japan, these neighborhoods have plenty to grab your attention. If you're truly disappointed, just hop on the train and go to Osaka or Tokyo (both very different places in their own right). If you can, get some takoyaki in Osaka.

don't forget to check out...
Paul Smith (Soho) only US store
John Varvatos (Soho)
Alife (East Side) you have to ring the door bell to get in.
Uniqlo (it's nice store and prices, but the clothes look like something you find at GAP)
There are two Paul Smith stores in NYC and at least one in LA. You're right in that the Soho store is the best one though.

Haha, that's great.
Yeah I can easily see the lack of aesthetic value in vowel extenders. I never bothered to read the evisu patch...you're right it would look terrible if it was spelled otherwise.

but you are a dick because
A: you don't know what you're talking about.
and
B: go back few pages and read the explanation behind it.
(hint: you are kind of close with the error part, except it's intentional.)
Hold up, you can call me a dick, but who said I didn't know what I was talking about?
