  1. Nah, I talked to Gordon right after they were announced and it didn't sound like they were expecting pre-sell the FSR or anything, he thought they would have plenty to sell in store. It's probably just delays at the factory where the jeans are actually sewn together.

  2. Not blown away by the collection, but some nice stuff for sure. Feeling the fishtail parka, oxfords, gingham and ombre flannels, and I really like the suede shoes. Backpack is wack and I wish the arc hoddies weren't heathered.

That suede front sweater is classic NYC, you used to see tons of dudes rocking those things in the late 70's/early 80's in Brooklyn. Go look in a Jamel Shabazz book , I bet you'll find some people wearing them.

  3. I think that only white girls with strong middle class WASP upbringings or their socio-economic Japanese counterparts would be able to go on a date shopping for clothes like that (no matter how cheap they are on sale) and understand that you aren't going to actually buy the jawnz for them.

If you offered something like that up to a k-beezy, your date would either be over in 45 minutes or you'd be out a G or so and still not get to fuck.

Seriously, if you take most black or latino women to something like this, they are expecting to leave with a full shopping bag.

  4. What about color loss? During the first soak the water was like pitch black. I hate losing color. Will they still be really dark after a wash?

They'll be plenty dark, these jeans retain their color really well when they haven't been worn much.

Why is there no S0505XXII love in this thread? Nobody bought them?

I tried them on when I bought my 500's. They're really nice, a little slimmer than the 500's. I just preferred the slubbiness and the button fly of the 500's.

  5. Sams in general take several soaks/washes to get all of the shrinkage done. Don't be afraid to skip soaking them and just throw them in th washing machine, you'll get more shrinkage that way and won't hurt your jeans at all.

  6. Does anyone have a black ballistic backpack for sale or know where I can get one? I've been looking for one for so long I'm this close to buying one on bridge footwear lol.

The ones on Bridge have been identified as fake by reputable posters here in the past...

  7. In keeping with what Raj just said, women don't want to mess with dudes that are gonna fuss over getting caught in the rain in their dry denim, or worrying about getting their $500 boots muddy or some shit like that. Women want men who are ready (or seem to be ready) to handle whatever situations come up as they happen, no matter what your image is, rocker, stock broker, fisherman, whatever. If you can't pick your girl up in your arms because your jacket has to be extra-slim and your jeans are sized down 3 sizes, you are destined to fail in the long run.

  8. Totally off-topic, but I purchased an expedit shelf like that to store my records on and it broke. Ikea says 29lb/shelf max but I think that's already pushing it. For now I've been sticking with intermetro shelving...

If you notice I'm pretty careful not to stuff each cube with records. If I wanted I could squeeze another 15-20 records in each, but I think that would be pushing it too far. But yeah, they definitely aren't the sturdiest shelves for vinyl.

  9. Went to BiG today, tried on the Lot 12 500xx and 505's. They are both really beautiful jeans and I had a seriously hard time choosing between them. In the end I went with the 500's, the 505 are just a hair slimmer and with shrinkage I thought it was going to be just a bit too skinny for my build. Judgement call though, and if you are thinking about buying them don't hesitate, they are awesome.

That said here's post hot wash fit pics of my 500's, size 34 and that's pretty much true to size. I'm 6' tall, 190 lbs:

  10. recently, i've been chilling/chilled with with, among others, three girls that i met at a pre-orientation meeting for my college. (i'll be a freshman this fall)

i want to stop seeing one of the girls because she isn't as hot as she looked when i met her (beer goggle concept). How do I dump her and not have her screw shit up/call me out with the two other girls i've been talking to?

btw. We(the freshman) are going out for drinks with the upperclassmen next week. How do I keep the three girls from realizing about each other? Should I just skip this meeting?

edit: i know. i should have chosen my girls more carefully

You aren't listening to the advice being given. You don't need to worry about the girls knowing about each other because: A) They probably do already or will find out soon enough and B) Having multiple people interested in you makes you look more attractive to women.

If you want to stop seeing one just make yourself too busy to have time for her without being a dick about it. She'll get the message eventually without you hurting her feelings. As far as drinks go, by all means go to the event, be charming and mingle with all three. You'll be able to compare/contrast them and sort them out in your mind, while looking like a guy who has stuff going on and who is a prize for them to compete over.

  11. Terrible news about Union IMO. Even if you aren't a fan of Vis and the rest, for there to be no outlet for it in the biggest streetwear city in the western hemisphere is kind of unbelievable. And I'd REALLY hate to see it end up in Barney's next to the cornball "sportswear" they carry now.
