  1. i tell em i'm in finance and an aspiring children's literature author

    this has yet to fail

When I was younger I used to tell women I was a minor league baseball player. That worked like crazy back in the day. Now they'd probably pull out their iPhone and try to find your stats online or something to prove it. Technology fails us again.

  2. this is a really weird claim, esp since most shrinkage happens during drying - not washing

This isn't necessarily true, I hand washed/line dried my red Smash tee the first time I washed it so the dye wouldn't fuck up the rest of my clothes and it shrank like crazy, especially in length. It's now shorter than any of my other Supreme XL's, and I have stuff going back to 2001/2002.

  3. This weekend a friend sent me some recent photos of the woman who broke my heart and nearly killed me years ago. She's gained about 40 lbs and is a walking disaster. Talk about inadvertently dodging bullets.

Let this be a lesson to all of the people posting about their broken hearts in here, shit happens for a reason. You will survive and be better off, always. Fuck a bitch.

  4. The text on the back really messes up those tees, the only good one is Duck Rock, the rest look like those old hip hop promo tees you would get in the 90's with 15 random label logos and release dates for records that never came out on the back.

  5. does the black community appreciate kanye west for making black culture more exciting than white culture?

edit: though simultaneously spoiling it for the black community*

When in the last 100 years of popular music was "black" culture not more exciting than "white" culture? That's why "black" culture is continuously ripped off and sold back to the masses, it's pretty much always been more innovative and exciting.

  8. It's not that, it's the way everyone runs in name checking bands to show how vast their knowledge is. The chest thumping to show who is more legit reeks of the high school lunch room

  9. I like Japanese punk just fine, but I think all this high fiving because Supreme made a shirt referencing this record that I'm gonna guess 95% of the people in this thread never heard of before the advent of MP3 downloads is kind of ridiculous.

  10. Re-posted from an old thread:

I was riding the A home from work one one evening, and a really drunk Eastern-European dude was on the train, wobbling around, bumping into people, slurring apologies, etc. This went on for a few stops, then a seat opened and he plopped down and promptly passed out. A few stops later he sort of slumps to the side, still asleep, and then the woman sitting nearest to him says "Holy Shit" and jumps up. Slowly the bench he was on starts to fill with a puddle of clearish-yellowish liquid. Everyone thinks he's pissed himself and runs away in sheer horror.

Here's the best part: he wakes up, feels that his pants are wet, reaches into his jacket pocket and pulls out an open tall boy of Bud, which he proceeded to polish off and then got off the train, leaving his puddle of spilled beer behind.

Just another Tuesday rush hour in the greatest city on earth...

  11. I have the ventile Wilderness Parka from 2007, ventile will keep you pretty dry in a light rain for a while, but it does absorb the water instead of repelling it, so once it gets saturated you will get wet. It also gets really heavy when it gets wet, and it takes a while to dry out, which is why isn't used in for real technical applications anymore. Like I said, it's fine for a little light rain, but if you're gonna get caught in storm or something, bring Gore-Tex.

  12. That's how you're supposed to undo a button-fly, not one at a time. Never had a problem with the buttons on my 811's, but I bought them in 2007, maybe it's something with newer pairs?

  13. I love the chore coat, bought one when they first dropped and it's a great piece, but I think the quality is still not what it used to be on outerwear. One of my sleeves has started to come apart at the seam near the elbow, and I only wear the thing to commute on the subway. There's no way a 3 month old $200 jacket should just fall apart with no wear and tear.

Anyone got a recommendation for a tailor in NYC who does good work repairing jackets?

  14. the strap on the mtn editions is beyond wack, however it's actually a lace covering system so it's easy enough to cut it off to expose the laces below.

I don't like the MTN Edition's but for the people who were considering buying them and cutting the straps off, there is no Supreme logo under the strap like there was on the sample photo, so you are good to go.
