  1. Hey guys just wondering if im 36 in the IH 301s how would i go in the st-100 ?

You'd take the same size in the ST-100x, 36.

Any updates on the 3sixteen heavyweight hoodies? Are those still coming? Thanks.

Yes, definitely. We sold through our first run via the 10 year anniversary pop up shop and only have a few sizes in stock right now, so we're running more. Should be done in a few weeks' time, and will be available via 3sixteen.com.

  2. yeah, i follow - its a ritual like shaving with a de/straight razor (one of my favourite things). as i said, i wouldn't even consider the nespresso stuff as 'good' but it is drinkable to me when i'm getting ready for work or something. i guess because i spend alot of my free time at various cafes i thought that i should take it more seriously and save money by doing it 'properly' at home as well.

People have broken it down cost-wise and it's definitely cheaper to buy good beans and grind/brew them at home than to use the Nespresso pods, but at the end of the day it really does come down to an issue of convenience.

Have you had a cup of freshly brewed coffee at a specialty cafe before? Go there and see if you can taste the difference between that and your Nespresso. And if you have a friend who has a home brewing setup, ask him to make you some coffee. If you can taste the difference then you'll find it worthwhile to put together a home brew setup. If not, just roll with what you currently have.

  3. is an aeropress worth buying + the effort of cleaning etc? my girlfriend has one of those nespresso pod things which everyone in here prob hates, but its just so easy and convenient. i just buy the strongest pods possible (12/12 on nespresso's 'strength scale' or whatever) and for a coffee at home it honestly isn't that bad.

I don't mean this negatively, but if you don't mind Nespresso's then the answer is probably no. Aeropresses are very easy to clean but there are many other inconveniences that come with using one: buying fresh whole beans, having the right equipment to grind them and maybe even a scale and a kettle (not required but nice to have). Altogether, it's fair to say that making a fresh cup of coffee is more of a "bother" but those who appreciate a better tasting cup don't mind (and some even grow to love the process).

  4. Just saw the Liberty article on Rawr and was wondering when the ST-44X is going to drop.

Looks like the five pocket chino I've been looking for!

Also what kind of cut is it?

It's the ST cut, our slim tapered fit. Release date should be somewhere late Sept/early October. If you subscribe to our newsletter we'll be sure to send an email out when it's available!

  5. Superfuture family: many of you have been following along with our journey since the day we released our first run of jeans back in the fall of 2008. Unbeknownst to some, though, the company was actually founded in 2003 and we were doing graphic tees for several years before growing into a full collection; we then eventually shifted our focus entirely to jeans about three years ago. To celebrate our 10th year of business, we'll be opening up a small pop up shop in NYC's Lower East Side for the month of September. There, we'll be selling a number of commemorative items along with a slew of collaborations with designers, artists and brands who've played a major role in helping us get to where we are today. Collaborators include Self Edge (of course), Viberg Boots, Converse, Thomas Hooper, Jeff Hamada, Tanner Goods, Teranishi Handcrafted, and a whole lot more.

The shop opens at noon on Saturday, September 7th at 162 Allen Street (between Stanton & Rivington) and will remain until September 30th. This shop is more of a celebration of relationships and friendships that have been built along the way than just a place to sell stuff, and we consider Superfuture to be an important part of this community that we've built over the years. For that reason, we really hope to see some of you at the space this month.

    Cheers!

  6. The kiku piece looks nice, does he have a site?

    Yes: kikutattoo.com

Regino Gonzales is a dope artist...big fan

Beyond that, great guy too. But yes, he is nice with it. Fortunate to have him (and Kiku) tattooing right across the street from my shop.

  7. Any Self Edge customers live in Melbourne? I will be traveling to your city in a few weeks' time on 3sixteen business and will be putting on a little event downtown on Chapel Street (open to the public). if you live there and are free, lets link up for coffee or something, it'd be cool to meet.

  8. Question: I'm going to a new artist and he asked me for a $300 depost (gladly paid it) so is that what his hourly rate is going to be? I never actually asked him what his rate was haha. I'd rather not say who he is but hes one of the top guys you can go to here in NY.

A deposit is a pretty arbitrary number and doesn't necessarily represent an hourly rate. Just ask what he charges an hour. $300 would be super steep.

  9. Thanks Kyle, appreciate the kind words and we would love to see your buddy's jeans. Let him know that we're happy to replace that button for him. Hope that we get to meet through TFH business in the near future!
