  1. Just wanted to add an additional kudos to Wesley @ SENY for being awesome.

Went up to NY for the sole purpose of seeing the city for the first time and visiting some jean shops.  SENY was so nice.  Just as good as the original in SF.  Wesley was the best sales associate.  Was pretty disappointed they were out of Roy's new jean but I guess that's to be expected. Really wanted to see how it compared to the KS1001.

Couldn't really find anything that fit like I wanted.  I felt like the SOC Valencia was close, but the rise was still just a tad short or something. Would encourage you guys to really find some more fits with a higher 11-12" rise that fit slim and what not.

Really glad that Wesley took care of you guys. We are fortunate to have him.

  2. i keep hearing about go get em tiger but i've never been. is it any good?

i've tried (i feel like...) the majority of well known coffee shop in SF and I've liked sightglass the best. i felt indifferent about four barrel and the mill.

i tried Novel Coffee Roasters from Dallas yesterday (thanks to the good folks at Flat Track in ATX). It was very good.

Go Get Em Tiger and G&B serve up some of the best coffee I've had in the US alongside a really innovative menu. The Business & Pleasure (shot of espresso + iced almond milk latte, served with a sparkling tea chaser to cleanse the palate in between) is my favorite thing to order there. I really like their bar-style service too - no need to wait in line, just walk right up and find an open barista and give them your order.

  3. Anyone have reccomended coffee spots in Denver or Boulder? ( or anything to do/shops for that matter)

A little late on this but in Denver, check out Little Owl, Huckleberry, and Novo for good coffee. Steadbrook is a rad little retail shop that serves coffee as well from local roaster Middle State Coffee. While you're there, make sure you eat at Work & Class and Steuben's. In Boulder there are a few decent cafes there and a cool boutique called Cedar & Hyde.

  4. Debating pushing my France trip back to visit Guy Le Tattooer, but for you NY folks, he'll be at Saved tattoo all of June.

JL, you book any of them for the Pop up?

I am a NY folk and I will be in the city all of June so this is intriguing. Always wanted something from Guy but not trying to get my hands blasted.

  5. Really nice ajchen! Bailey Hunter Robinson is high on my list! Love his style, he keeps putting out consisten work!

Thanks dude. I've been wanting work from for awhile but never got around to it. I finally got to meet him through the shop, he's a super nice guy too.

  6. Anyone here have any updates of their 21bsp?  I've seen Andrew's pair that they displayed at Self Edge but I haven't seen many other heavily faded pairs.

We're posting up Johan's this week on Well Aged! Keep an eye out.

  7. So I've got a pair of ST-120x on the way!  I'm hoping these will be a good fit, I really want a nice slim tapered pair to wear with my sneakers.  Plus there is ample evidence that these get an amazing fade.

I thought about waiting for the loomstate version but I have so much trouble with sizing for unsanforized jeans that I think these will be a better bet.

Thanks for the support! Look forward to seeing you wear them in.

  8. Hi Kiya,

Can you recommend a tailor in NYC who can sew a button back onto my Buzz peacoat? I still have the button. I noticed that they don't sew all the way through the inner liner and didn't want to bring it to my crap local tailors who would mangle the Buzz.

    Thanks!!

I recommend Pablo at Stanton Tailor Shop on Stanton between Orchard and Ludlow. It's right around the corner from our shop and they will take good care of you. Just let them know that you want the button sewn on the same way as the rest and that you dont want it to go through the lining just to be safe.

  9. Anyone know when the new olive stadium jacket is going to be available? Missed out on the black and navy versions but I don't think I can pass on this one.

Should be ready by mid-late November!

  10. I have both the SL and the 30bsp, both in a 31. The bsp has a taller back rise, I would say just a little bit more room in the top block but still rather slim, realisticly the same size in the upper thigh but more room in the lower thigh near the knee. Also a slimmer leg opening than the SL but you don't notice as much because of the taper. Also the denim is a lot stiffer and starchier at first.

This is a pretty accurate description of the differences. For me, the 30BSP is very comfortable in the top block from day 1 despite the stiffer denim, and the SL in the same size is a bit more constricting (but loosens up just fine after a month or so).

For those of you who've grown fond of the 30BSP fit: next week, the 32BSP arrives at all Self Edge stores. It's the 30BSP fit in our flagship 14.5oz shadow selvedge denim with a brand new patch design courtesy of our buddy Tron of Tanner Goods. We ran 100 pairs of the 32BSP and as of now there aren't any plans to replenish them once they've sold out. Swing by your nearest Self Edge store to check them out, or look for them to post online at selfedge.com soon.

  12. I picked up a pair of the 11BSP jeans yesterday from Rivet & Hide.

An amazing Unsanforised fabric - so much slub and character. There's some serious Samurai type texture going on here. A nice18oz weave.

Perfect british winter weight, and a really well proportioned straight cut. A good type 47 (variation) as far as I can tell.

Not loose at all but just the right silouete.

    Why aren't these more popular??

I suspect these might be one of the most underrated jeans I've come across. And all Made in Japan!

    Bring on the cold weather.

Oh, I also picked up a 2 Pack of grey T-shirts.

    These are mint too!

    Cheers

I am biased, but I love the 11/21bsp denim as well. My pair is coming up on 4 years and the fabric keeps on getting more and more interesting. Enjoy your pickups and thanks for the support!

I currently have a pair of SL-220x which I'm happy with. I'm currently on the hunt for a pair of discret standard blue indigo jeans, so naturally my idea was the SL-100x. I have some questions though.

My 220x are really stiff, even though I've worn them for a couple of months. I don't think they have stretched much (or atleast far less than any other denim I've owned). I currently wear s32, but they are slightly big around waist, though rest is good. I was thinking, could I size down the atleast to 31 (-1 size) for the 100x fabric hoping for them to stretch out for a better mold? I don't think I can go much smaller than my 220x in size 32 as for thigh measurement, but if the 100x does stretch more it might be the better option.

Thanks in advance. Really hoping my next pair will be another pair of 3sixteen  :)

The 100x denim is woven exactly the same way as the 220x denim so you should expect them to perform very similarly. Overall our 14.5oz denim doesn't stretch much compared to other brands, as you've experienced firsthand. If I were you I'd stick with the 32 to be safe, the 31 will be painful and won't stretch as much. If you are open to trying our 17oz. 130x denim, that fabric does stretch more - you can expect 1.5" of stretch in the waist over the first 20 wears.

Any possibility of pocket-tee restocks in size M?

We're about 3 weeks out on full restocks in every color/size. And we'll also be releasing our heavyweight yarn-dyed indigo tee for the first time.

  13. The kibata fabrics are slated for November, correct?

I was thinking I might be able to wear a pair of SL-120xk to a wedding in October.

Yup, late November. Wish it was sooner!

Will the herringbone over-shirt drop around the same time as the 120x jacket?

Yup, they'll come out at the same time.

  14. General query for the 3sixteen crew or kiya or anybody else in the know: are there any plans to offer some of the non-flagship denim (be it the 17oz or the kibata) in the CS-100 fit? I know you can't always address everybody's wants and desires, but I thought I'd check. Cheers.

Thanks for your interest - we always appreciate it when people pass on their suggestions. Unfortunately at this time we're probably going to keep the CS in the 100x denim. We love the fit and it does well with the accounts that we sell it to, but the demand doesn't warrant offering it in another fabric yet.

I wanna know if a 17oz kibata denim will ever happen

UkeNo's response below sums it up perfectly, there are no plans for that right now. We have a 17oz sanforized and an 18oz fully MIJ unsanforized, the spectrum (in our mind) is pretty well covered at the moment. Who knows what might happen in the future though...

There's already a Raw 18oz denim on the 11/21BSP. Has a lot of texture and slub.

My guess is that the guys won't feel a 'need' for a 17oz in their lineup anytime soon.

    It would be cool though.
