Really love the color of it in your picture, is it the olive one? On their website, the color is a much more saturated olive, do you think this is correctly represented? https://www.veilance.com/us/en/shop/mens/component-overshirt

yes this is loden. i never trust product photos when it comes to colors. additionally depending on material the color comes out different. these are all loden pieces in different materials.

  2. Component OS thoughts-

So far this is my favorite Veilance release of the season.

    Materials-

Made of of the nyco (50 cotton 50 nylon) blend similar to the voronoi pants, the Comp OS sits structured while not feeling too constricting. It would be hard to talk about the Comp OS without lobbying some comparisons to the Field OS, the 100% poly composition of the Field felt more substantial for weather protection however the more matte finish of the Component pairs better with less glossy fabrics and adds a nice contrast with terratex pants.

    Pockets-

the main draw of the Component OS is the storage space and organizational structure of the front pockets. The internal elastic (see Mionn internal organizer or Align mx pockets) is able to hold my phone and wallet comfortably with minimal (if any) bulk. the zipper access also feels smooth and functional. I have had an easier time with the access for these pockets than with the Field and find them more utilitarian despite seemingly having less volume if the 4 fields pockets were added up.

    Sizing-

I am 6'3" and \~180lbs (190.5cm and 82kg) wearing a size large. I am a bit in-between large and XL for sizing and the shoulders on this are just the slightest bit snug. However I only plan to wear Frame tees under it so I'm not too concerned. For additional reference i take a large in the Field OS, Monitor Down, and Opperand while taking an XL in the Mionn, Graph sweater and frame tees.

  3. helping a friend sell a large olive la5-mp. asking $475 shipped conus. fit is slim and would work better for a true medium (imo). condition is overall is about an 8/10    slight surface stain shown in the 2nd pic .

happy to provide more pics or anything.

Has anyone tried to layer Mionn IS underneath the Patrol Down Coat's shell?

i’ve done this! the shell is by no means too roomy and it works quite well. you have a bit more room than just the standard midlayer but it’s nothing particularly notable.

  6. extended thoughts on the Conduit LT after some use out in the world.

pros - man this thing is warm. i’m super impressed with how well the conduit holds heat. currently standing outside in 33F (~0-1c) weather and am comfortable (granted i am also wearing fire windstopper pants). layered up with the beta ar got me through yesterday’s 16F degree weather with ease. It’s weight also makes transport and indoor wear simple. the conduit is breathable but not as ideal for continued indoor/55F+ weather as an overshirt or sweater.

cons- no internal pockets :( this has been a real annoyance especially when i don’t want to carry my 3a-1 around or am inside and just want to have chapstick or similar on me comfortablely. obviously this will also suffer from the same drawbacks as other down jackets i.e. shit in rain and occasional leakage (although that has yet to occur for me).

overall what i thought would be a throwaway piece from the season had quickly become a favorite of mine and i hope to get the vest as well.

are they slim like the voronoi/anode or little more generous? also what is the burly™ double weave like? being water/wind resistant looks to be a good time to buy now the cold has started to arrive.

slightly more generous than the voronoi or indisce but not enough to change sizes on them. the double weave is quite stretchy and comfortable. most similar to the fabric used on the mainline “gamma”. it won’t be as good at handling the cold as a gore-windstopper pant but will be better than a cotton or terratex pant.

Anyone tried CONDUIT LT Jacket and Vest? How's the fit compared with MIONN IS?

almost exactly the same fit. i like the feel of the mionn more but the conduit has a much better warmth to weight ratio

So for warmth - Align MX or Indisce?

And the back pockets on the Align MX - are they better than the cargo pockets on the Field pant? I'm not that happy with the Field cargo pockets, even though they have internal organizer pockets.

indisce pant will be warmer because of the gore windstopper. the pockets on the align will be more comfortable than the fields but have similar problems. take this with a grain of salt because i haven’t had the aligns yet but they have the same pockets as the dyadic comp pants which can comfordably store my wallet phone and headphones (something my field pants don’t do as well) but lack any real volume storage (it’s no p24a).
