Japan Blue and Okayama Denim just released another collab, 'Snow Slub'. I'm skipping this one for the time being, but keen to see some photos if anyone has bought a pair.
but they won't fade even if you wear them for 10 years

how does it compare with the copper label? Are they almost the same?

Nice xx-005, appreciate it. It's getting hard to find 14oz indigoxwhite new fade photos nowadays as many prefer indigo and other coloured wefts. I wonder if the 14oz indigoxwhite is still pbj flagship fabric.

Hey Paul, thanks for the detailed explanation. Took me quite a while to digest but the knowledge you shared is very interesting. To be honest I have not experience Japanese Repro brands. I am the typical iron heart, pbj, momotaro, oni kind of guy. I always thought why bother reproducing the old levis stuff when we can make higher quality jeans that is more durable and better synthetic indigo dye. Besides better fabric, we can add in additional details such as tucked and raised belt loops like iron heart jeans, lined back pockets, polycore stitching that the original Levis didn't have.
Until 2 days ago in a local raw denim shop, the salesman introduced me to Resolute jeans and told me "purist" prefer this brand more than iron heart and samurai. That thrown me into confusion because it didn't have hidden rivets, just 13oz fabric, very little irregularities and slub compared to Oni, no peek-a-boo selvedge coin pocket....and a cheap paper patch that turned me off! That pair of jeans doesn't seems special at all..... how can purist prefer this brand more than over-engineered typical brands like iron heart jeans. Then later he claimed Resolute makes the most accurate repro ever.....even more accurate than Levis in terms of fabric and stitch by stitch. So this got me into wondering..... not just Resolute, but how did other Japanese repro brands fare with LVC? Are they actually better or worse than LVC?
From the photos you share, in my opinion I think the differences are quite subtle. If I were to get a repro jeans, I would choose LVC even if Japanese repro brands are better; I think at most it would be just a little bit better but in exchange I get a red tab and arcuate.
This is the densest raw denim yet very interesting topic I ever came across. I'm still wondering why purist prefer repros over modern japanese jeans.... so far the most reasonable answer I gotten from is they like the cut because it's comfortable and the fabric weight is not ridiculously heavy for mobility. But I'm not too satisfied with the answers because modern jeans imo can be pretty comfy too and not all of them are heavy weight.

I think japanese mills make better fabrics than cone mills so yes I think Japanese repro are better. Yes I am biased but I would like to learn more about LVC fan opinions.

What do you think of japanese repro brands like resolute/denime/warehouse/full count/ooe yofukuten? Do they make better repros than LVC?

my opinion:
1. i find the cut of repro jeans more comfortable and like classic styles
2. you like the cut and details of the resolutes more
3. several older jeans that are reproduced were made so that you could live and work in them; modern jeans are more likely to impinge on normal movements and have a crotch blowout because you tried to lift your leg too high off the ground
4. they're different and it's a matter of taste (i prefer certain japanese brands over LVC); i'd suggest looking at the entire jeans and trying them on
Thanks ironheartfan123 for sharing your view. Seems like there's this magical force with Resolute that just makes its wearer fall in love passionately with it more than any other denim brand. Maybe the jeans contain a part of Hayashi's soul since he put in decades of hardwork, effort and thought on only 1 fabric to reproduce original 60s jeans.

1. I like the attempt to reproduce vintage denim. I also think heavy weight, uber slubby and colored wefts are some kind of gimmicks which sometimes overshadow the beauty of raw denim itself. But for many guys/gals who are new to raw denim such over-engineered denims are more appealing as they are an easier to spot difference to "normal" mall-brands.
2. Different cuts and a different denim which might be closer to real '60s Cone denim.
3. There are many repro brands that also pay a close attention to sturdy construction. So I won't generalize that repro brands are less durable than modern brands like e.g. PBJ or TSG.
4. A red tab and arcuates doesn't make a good repro. It needs more than that.
Thanks beautiful_freak for sharing your view with me. Can you also educate me what do you like about the 60s cone denim? Some say they like iron heart because it's heavy, they like momotaro for battle stripes, they like oni for secret denim slubbiness. What particulat aspect you personally found awesome in the 60s cone denim?
If let's say history was rewritten and the 60s original cone denim was actually heavy, slubby, gimmicky etc and hence Resolute reproduced the same gimmicky fabric, will you still prefer Resolute over other brands?

Hi guys I just got to know this brand yesterday that it is a very close reproduction of 1966 Levis. I would like to learn more so hope you guys can answer these 4 questions of mine.
1. What made you guys like vintage repro jeans more than the modern jeans (hairy/heavy weight/slub/deep indigo/ coloured weft etc) that we have today?
2. Why choose resolute over other vintage repros such as full count that is made of zimbabwe cotton, arcuates and hidden rivets.
3. Why is repro jeans is important? Some argued that modern jeans are much more durable and high quality than the mid-twenties century jeans
4. Is Resolute actually better than Levis Reproduction considering the fact that LVC comes with red tab and arcuates?
Thanks in advance and happy new year! =)

Hello everyone, first time posting here. This is my burgundy bridle belt from equus leather after 15 months of wear. I feed it with sedgwick leathercare at least once a month.... there was a time I experiment this belt by drenching it in water just too see what will happen but it only became stiff for a couple of days. I think there is some minor peeling and drying at the buckle wear area so I feed that particular area with a thin film of sedgwick leathercare once a week lately. Most of the time I'm always with lighting that made the belt look brown instead of burgundy. It used to have a shiny sheen surface texture although not as glossy as shell cordovan or my loafer below but now the surface texture is totally matte. I think I should get Saphir Renovateur to supplement sedgwick leathercare to restore some shine to the belt. Hope you guys enjoy the photos. Now, taken outdoorsIndoor lighting where it look like this most of the time3

Glad to see a few people wearing the original indigoxwhite 14oz jeans. It's the most underrated pair of jeans along with the 13oz LHT probably due to the fact that PBJ been releasing many new fabrics this year.
