  1. I love flat head pioneer denim more than Oni's fabric so I definitely wouldn't mind paying extra $100. Plus like what beautiful_freak said, customized buttons and rivets... that's really something else. A perfect fabric, customized buttons and rivets with awesome leather patch and arcs design..... it's just hard to find jeans like this. I used to like super slubby and heavy jeans but I already grown out of that phase. The pioneer denim 14oz weight is just nice and perfect for all weathers and it's texture is pretty balance. It has just the right amount of slub to make pretty tateochi vertical fading, hairy but not too hairy and awesome leg twist! Some brands I noticed have major leg twist on one leg while the other leg twist is pretty minor, but the pioneer fabric twisted equally on both legs. Furthermore I'm a very picky guy when it comes to the faded indigo color of jeans. Among all brands my fav faded color so far can only be found among flat head jeans, pbj 14oz white weft jeans, TCB 60's, 3sixteen 100x...

I'm sure that this has been asked and possibly answered, but I can't find the info.

Regarding the ultra suede arcs, if I remove the stitching does the ultra suede just fall off or is it glued on there. I really don't want them and Self Edge (which I know carries the non-suede arcs) has been out of my size for a while, so I might go 2nd.

have u check with rivet & hide?

What happened to the patch? In some pics you can see it, in some it's missing

Looks like he sewed it back on

yup I sewed it back on. I removed it prior to doing hot machine wash as it is bad for the leather.

  4. 270 days. I'm going to wash this jeans a third wash tomorrow. I think I should save up some money to buy a proper DSLR camera because taking photos with Iphone SE camera is very tedious especially when I'm trying to keep the color as accurate as possible.

    what do you mean "better"?

like newer and better fabric. During 1850-1966 period Levi's didn't bother abt reproduction and have been focusing on making new fabrics. Now LVC is set up to reproduce selvedge fabric and jeans of that period which is clearly more superior than the normal Levi's now. So I been wondering if they ever thought about making something new and more superior than LVC,

TFH pioneer denim shrinks way more.

I have the SG 3105 and lost one inch in the waist after soaking/washing. I was told that the shrinkage for the 31xx is similar to the 21xx. I also have a pair of TFH 3002 which is the pioneer denim and lost over 2 inches of shrinkage in the waist and about half an inch throughout the whole leg. I don't know about 21xx denim but the 31xx also stretches a lot easier after wear than the pioneer denim.

May I ask how did you shrink the 3002? Is it machine wash at 60C?

Either hinoya or americaya had resolute when I was there last August. I forget which shop they were in, but they're right next to each other on the same street.

    Thank you all very much!

  8. to be honest right, regarding the controversial japanese brands and international retailers issue..... is it possible for them to adopt a model similar to naked and famous? Naked and famous retailers pretty much sells the same price as tate+yoko so couldn't japanese brands do the same too?

  9. IMG_4590.thumb.JPG.2f33513065cb8ee270d04d1edad10188.JPGFor some mysterious reason, the 14oz fabric near the selvedge seams are more irregular, bumpy and spotty. Then the bumpiness and spottiness disappear at the middle and inseam area leaving behind the mini vertical slubby grains. Same characteristic goes for the other side and behind. The fabric is not as slubby as its 18oz siblings but it's a lot more bearable to wear daily in SEA country
