  1. Yeah happy holidays everybody!

i’m at my father in law at the Swedish west coast. 14m/sec winds and cold but no snow.

Going to Japan in a week! Luckily there's plenty of cool shopping recs posted all around superdenim but I'd love to hear any normal recommendations from you guys. Food, places, overrated destinations, general musings... fire away!

Nakameguru is great. Lots of nice stores and eataries (Nigel Cabourn army gym, Seirinkan (pizza), J'antiques (best vintage store ever) and more. Daikanyama is quite close and equally hip with great stores and eataries. Blue Blue has a store here and so does UES. Lovely aereas both. Just walking around I found lots of really cool stores/places.

  3. Snowy and about -7C here in Lidköping today.

    Vintage cap and Spiewak jacket.

Vintage indigo furoshiki used as scarf.

    Han Kjøbenhavn submariner.

    Penfield shearling gloves.

  4. As a quite short person (170cm/5’7), I’ve often wondered about the fact that most Japanese denim only come in one length. This works ok if it’s a true straight cut but what about tapered cuts like the ‘66 or more modern cuts. The fit would be drastically different on a person of my height compared to one who doesn’t need to hem at all. I need the jeans hemmed at about 29 inches (after shrinkage) compared to the “36 that most jeans come in. Thoughts?

Whoa, great pick up. Where'd you find those?

I really shouldn’t tell ‘cause I’ve found lots of great deals there but what the heck, found them on Etsy. You can prob find some on yahoo auctions if you have some time.

  6. My MP-597 (early ‘90s) which I  bought lightly used.

Sorry about the picture dump but I thought it’d be interesting for some as there aren’t many of these out there.

Selvedge line is huge. Compared to a pair of LVC ‘47s.

The black thread makes it kinda hard to make out but the ears are there. I’m guessing they’ll be more visible in a few months.

^ Interesting. The standard back pockets are entirely unadorned. That back pocket stitching design (with the cat ears) sounds a lot like a design Inoue was toying around with when the arcs for the 20s contest jeans were being discussed. I'm guessing that somehow you both got pairs from a limited run produced while he was trying out the design, which would make them pretty special. We'll all be watching to see how they turn out.

That’s the design I’ve got on mine. I’ll try to take a good pic of it when I have the chance.

  9. Mine also have the pocketstiching. If you look closely the stitching are formed with two small cat ears poking up as well. In regards to the lighning fade I think it has to do with the pocket linings shrinkage. My lightning fade will form far down the coin pocket where no one can se it.

You won’t see a list mate, all I have is peoples real names and email addresses. Not the kind of info that people want publishing on the internet I would guess.

Ah, I didn’t realise you had no way of linking the payment to the sufu nick. How many people ended up joining?

  11. Hey @Megatron1505 when will we see a participant list?

In other news i washed my TCB60's again yesterday (40C). Shrunk them up some more in all areas. Good.

Roping is ace, started to show some lighter whiskering.

Will post pics in the correct thread as soon as the weather permits.

edit : this is also spanning a period of around 10 years, so might seem crazier than it actually is.

Yeah my first selvedge jeans where my ‘37s back in 2005-6. A lot of raw denim before that but nothing fancy (Non selvedge Lee, Cheap Monday and Wrangler don’t make the list, right!?). Unlike you I’ve stayed pretty much the same weight and only sold a pair of K.O.I and Imperial.
