  1. I don't really think that the pink threads used on Momotaros are really that big a deal, but I don't really feel like there's something special about Momotaros that I really like. I want to pick up a lot of different brands in the future, but I also don't want to buy so much that I won't get to wear them all. It just seems like there are always other more appealing options to me than Momotaro.

  2. I'd agree that Vans is a lot better in terms of comfort. I wear Shoes Like Pottery, Converse 70's, and Vans and I'd say that the Converse feels the least comfortable (not uncomfortable though, just less so than the other options). I think that it's because the soft padding actually absorbs some of the force applied by the foot when you step. So the other sneakers allow for a more direct contact with the ground.

  3. I have the 70's chucks and while I do like them more than the normal ones they don't really seem to fit right on my feet if I wear thin socks. I've also noticed that the aluminum eyelets end up staining the canvas pretty badly. They're also quite heavy compared to most other sneakers.

Have you looked into Doek or Shoes Like Pottery? No experience with Doek but I have a pair of Shoes Like Pottery and they're really light compared to the converse while still feeling quite solid.

  4. Super easy! Did international shipping with them last month. Didn't ask about hemming, though.

There's also a button for inquiries below each product...

Did you ask them if they could mark the value of the package down?

  5. Having tried both thin and thicker belts, there is definitely a break in process that has to be undergone with the thick belts. After that though, it ends up being as comfortable as thin ones are. I really don't think that the point of having thicker belts is to get as thick as possible because you can, but because it just feels more substantial when handling it. I also feel like it works better on wider buckles as well.

I've noticed that looping the belt under a thick patch helps make the bunching more uniform in the waist if it's too big on you. Personally I don't like the look of looping it, especially when I had a veg tan belt on a darker patch on the 3sixteens I used to wear. I really do like thinner leather patches more because it's closer to how jeans used to be made, which I can definitely get by.

On another note, I hate single sided buckles where your belt only has to pass through one part of the buckle. I really don't like the look, and usually these come with a loop of leather. Can't stand the look, but purely personal preference.

  6. It's great to know that it won't be on the international models. While I do like the local arcs a bit more, I really don't mind just buying the international model instead.

  7. I know it says that the ultrasuede detail will be on all models, but will it also be on international models? The only examples of the ultrasuede ones I've seen are from Japan. Maybe this detail only applies to Japan made models?

  8. they show lots of promise; didn't even wore them much yet (cut is border line too wide for me) but they are developing a nice hue. I'll give them another go this summer.

The 1002 looks very nice; never had a Lee type denim before; measurements seem close to 800's; only the thighs are a tad wider

Aho; do you know what fabric is used for these?

Not Aho but it's the banner denim. Same as the 1001.
