    - This is a early gen limonta (non-laminate) 5ts, about a decade old, it did not come with a laptop insert.

    - I am aware the 3a-1 isn't designed to be a laptop bag, hence my issues with fitting a laptop in it. It not being designed for it hasn't stopped me from daily driving it as one with mid-sized laptops for the last couple of years though. If anyone has atempted to mod one to better accomodate laptops though I'd be very interested in the outcome.

The 3A-5 is my goto for that reason, it can accommodate pretty much everything. The problem though is all-up weight. The Bagjack insert is a tad lighter than the original Acronym inserts but they're not as good. If  I need a more 'pack stuff in' aspect than the 3A-1 while keeping the compact dimensions I tend to swap to a Pogo.

Though if I read your post again and your reservations about the relatively low cost of the Bagjack sleeves, are we just talking about all Chinese knockoffs? Those I'd have no experience with.

I had assumed the Acronym sleeve was just a rebranded bagjack one with some aestethic differences in material choice, etc, so im really curious/interested in what other differences there are. What would you say makes the Bagjack one worse? ^_^

Regarding my remark about prices, I have been getting recomendations from others to just purchase a used 3a-13ts instead of spending €650+ on mods for my 5ts.

  2. So I've been daily driving a 3a-1 for the last couple of years with 13" to 15" laptops, need to use a mac at work though and got a new 16" macbook pro this week that I can barely fit into the 3a-1. While its still possible, I get really uncomfortable with how the teeth of the zipper scratch against the device. Would preferably add some kind of sleeve as well and I have a hard time believing I could make that fit into the 3a-1.

At the moment I'm leaning towards purchasing a backjag laptop insert for my 3a-5ts and start using that as my daily instead, it's a far bulkier bag though and I'd miss the mezanine pockets on the 3a-1 which are so extremely useful. The insert alone is €150 if I'd want to add a pair of MK1s that another 2x €250 at which is feels I could just as well comission a bigger 3a-1 for a similar price.

Anyone with similar experiences of the 3a-1 and bigger laptops or with some input/advice? :D

I usually wear M in everything except the J47 which I wear in an L

    the J90 I’d need a small

and in before “but erlsn wears an M”: it almost feels like he’s sized it as a vanity M in light of his weight gain, everything he modelled in M pre Covid fit me perfectly

Received my small today and I'm considering if I should've downsized for an XS instead. Perhaps it's just that they used the S24 and baggy pants for all the product pics but I was very surprised with the length and bulkiness. The texture is also pretty rough IMO, similar to the S24, which also surprised me (although I don't own any DS outers, only shirts).

When looking at the product pics again I am a bit confused about the length, and it was probably the pics of the tall guy which threw me off. Expected it to be cropped like in this pic but it actually fits like this.

@moneytalks I'll let you know if I decide to not keep it.

  4. WTB:

    • P17, hmu with any CW or material, size S or M
    • P35, size S? gonna wear em' like 17:s
    • J59TS-CH, size S? probably, ima skinny dude, HMU

    WTS:

    • LA7-DS size S, cond 9/10?, willing to trade for an LA6 or to add as trade for any of the above.

I dont browse SF much these days so will be a bit slow to respond but I'm serious with any afformentioned deal, send DMs.

@wexler I've been considering P10 but they're somewhat price prohibitive- guess that comes with the territory though. I'm not very good with pants measurements, and like you say the rise on ACR pants are so varied (drop crotch, high waisted, etc) it's kind of difficult for me to interpret. Basically I'm size 30 waist (hip really) 34" inseam. The lack of any real archival for Acronym products makes me finding reliable measurements for older releases especially difficult, though I often assume older = bigger, at least that's true for the more skater "baggy" fit styles of like 08.

    Again, appreciate all the replies!

Gonna give you the same tip @hooper gave me like 5+ years ago when I was to get my first pair of P10s. Size acrnm pants lengthwise!

Basically all ACR pants are really wide in the waist and meant to be worn belted. I'm a size 28 waist in most brands (wearing size 27 denim right now) but 180cm tall. I own P10s in both size S and M and while the size S makes for a casual spring pant where I can flash those ankles the mediums fit me much better lengthwise and also give more of that characteristic structural design/drape present in most ACR pants, achieving that iconic silhouette. In the winter I sometimes layer them with sweatpants which makes the effect even more prominent as they fill out the thighs and knees.

Ask around for others with similar body proportions as yourself and see what they're wearing but I'd predict you being probably a size L or so. Just tighten that waist with a cobra belt (narrow enough to pass through the belt loop on the fly) and you'll be fine. Worse case scenario you can always get a good tailor to alter them if the excess material in the crotch area bothers you too much.

Forcelock while stationary is quite nice, e.g. at the office I sometimes use it at my desk so that my headphone cable isn't dangling under my forearms/across my keyboard; or when I'm out walking my dog and for whatever reason need to dock earbuds--again, very convenient.  Maybe not useful 98% of the time, but the 2% of the time that it is it works 100% of the time, lol.

This is how I use forcelock on my J34 as well. I listen to music/podcasts/audio books pretty much constantly when I'm out and about and the function is great to have at any time I have to stop and talk to someone (leaving earbuds in looks really unpolite, even if you pause the music) such as when I'm grabbing a cup of coffee to go or picking up a package at the postal office. At those times, and especially afterwards when putting them back in, forcelock really feels like a luxury compared to putting the earbuds into a pocket or slinging them around the neck.

I think it came out to like 1440 including shipping and customs after getting the adjustment for a j28 from the main site, which was a little cheaper than most retailers

    4 hours ago, Kasper said:

On ACR specifically, there usually is a bit of a discount (EU price ex VAT vs. US price) on the headline price and then you save the sales tax, but most ACR products tend to be $800+ so you end up dealing with duties. Obviously some drops are ACRNM.com only.

For pretty much every thing else though, it's pretty much always cheaper as an American to buy from EU based retailers. Products are typically priced in EUR (incl. VAT) at the same level as they are in the US (pre-tax). VAT is around 20% and US sales tax are around 7-8%. And the USD is super strong at the moment (particularly vs. the pound. So as long as you buy items that are priced below $800, you can expect savings in the range of 30-40% on a full price item from a EU based store vs. buying locally. This dynamic is part of the reason why European online stores have benefited from much stronger growth and are the dominant players right now (in the luxury sector).

Thanks for the info, I guess it really does make sense then. I'm just so used to considering any shipping passing the EU border as a robbery.

Looking to cop a pair of AF100s and even though US pairs are dirt cheap on Ebay ($260 which is less than retail was where I live) However, shipping + import through Ebay's global shipping program ends up at over $150 :(

    VAT discount

There isn’t really a discount tho, is it? Correct me if I’m wrong here but the thought is for your guys to pay your own customs and the total price ending up the same as when you buy from American retailers, isn’t it? In the end you might be able to save some money by complaining with the customs service, eventually getting a partial refund, but with all that hassle and the longer shipping shipping times (+ higher shipping fees compared to domestic orders I assume?) I still don’t get why you’re doing it. :/

i'm not going to lie, this make's me never want to buy directly from Acronym.

I really don't get why you Americans order from the European site when you have your own retailers. Everything always sell out quick here in the EU, especially on the main site, but stock seems to sit for a while in the US and on sites like HBX :/

There was an L-J2 in small on Grailed for so long but didn't have the funds to pick it up back then :/

As far as I recall this version is mainly issued in Japan, the more common material would be xpac as the recent deadstock, could be wrong though.

Dope, quick google turned out nothing but 3A-9 is a grail of mine so it's cool that there are multiple versions.

  13. Any intel on how jackets in the climashield insulated -WS material compare to their -S counterparts? Which of the two perform better in cold/wet climates? Mainly asking about the J46 and J50.

I'm an old man (hanging on to my 30's by a very thin thread) so I don't have a ton of pics of me posing in my clothes for insta or shit like that. Here's a couple candid pics my wife took. My twins just turned 1 so they're literally in every single picture she takes. Lighting isn't great for the second one. Sorry about that. You kind of get the idea of how they fit though.

    image1.JPG

That's the coolest MF dad I've ever seen, true life goals for me right there. Pics prooves that I should go for mediums if I want to wear them with low sneakers though. Thanks man, you saved me from the miserable hunt for size S ACRs <3

I'm 5' 9" and I have P23TS-CH in size S. I'm pretty much at the limit of what a size S can fit lengthwise. Anyone 5'10" to 6' should go M.

However if my P23's were Stotz I'd feel more comfortable with a M since my Stotz pants end up shrinking about 3%.

Would it, pretty please, be possible to get a pic? The only ACR pants I have are p10s which I was told to size M for the length but they're almost too long unless I belt them really high (which I need to due to the huge waist).

Then again, I wouldn't want to look like this:

Don't size down on the 23s unless you have short legs. I tried it and it didn't work at all, the hem was too high and squeezed my calf when I sat down. No problems when I went TTS.

Just for reference, how tall are you and what sizes are we talking about? Trying to decide on S vs M as a size 28 denim but 5'11 tall.

  17. WTB / WTT (Sizedown)

SIze Small P10-DS in Black or P10-E/S in RAF/Olive. Can offer Size M P10-S black as trade.

SIze Small J25-SS (FW13 version) either color. Can offer Size M SS-J25 black as trade.

    Also looking for Size Small:    DS-J5 (any color)   -   DS-HD2 (dust)    -    S6-C (Black, old-version)   -   S19-DS/BR   -   L/KA3-DS   -   LA4-BR

ss-j1fb and 9ts for my mom

You guys have similar experience haha?

J1FB is probably one of their best jackets ever released IMO, would def want someone close to me to wear it if I owned it just to see it in action. That's one lucky mom :D

  19. What are you guys' take on the sizing of the PB items from the last "release"? Kind of interesting that we saw both pieces being modeled for women as well as the XS size being available. Was this a one off for a special/experimental launch of a new material or could it be the first sign of Acr embracing androgynous clothing?

Since the cut and nature of current pieces already can be worn by both genders and the popularity of prestos seems to have made an impact on  the streetwear scene overall maybe Acr can try to capitalize on a bigger target group, not that they need to with current hype.

Of course this is all hypothetical but I wonder how it will impact sizing. As a size 44 (suiting) guy I'm more than happy to welcome a move towards smaller sizing (most pants released to date would fall of my waist even in small unless belted). Maybe we would finally see the absurd pricing on size small second-hand pieces gone as well.

  20. So I tried out making an overseas order for a pair of slim dungarees now as they've lowered the shipping (I think it used to be like $50+ international) UPS came in at $25 which seems fair but I was not prepared for UPS charging me an additional $112.5 for customs and sales tax. Even though I've worn the hell out of my current pair certainly getting my values worth for the $160? I paid for them at Outliers NYC studio back in 2014. I'm not really sure if I feel them being worth the $335 I'll be paying for these which is about the dubble of what I paid last time :/ Will still be committing to the purchase though. Nothing in my wardrobe is getting as much wear as my dungarees.

International buyers be aware though, have someone proxy for you if you can.

  21. Any intel on the gray hoodie and its pricing?

Probably looking to cop grey hoodie and p10 in small (cause people ask for ridiculous prices for older smalls for whatever reasons) Also, modulars maybe? Jackets looking pretty uninteresting this season compared to my Grails from previous collections.

Also when I'm at it, WTS second kidney. PM if interested

  22. How's the sizing for the P23TS? I'm a size 29 denim, 180cm tall so figured I'd need smalls. Then I came upon this horrendous styling by END...

  23. Removed partly because of bad post made late at night and beacuse I stand corrected.

The point I was trying to make was not that ACR is trying to play us for money. But that exclusivity, which has become a factor of the ACR brand, automatically leads to hype and reselling which results in pieces becoming harder to acquire.
