  1. They are both bad ass, go with the one that fits best but if you want an opinion I think the James would look good on you.

I ran into the guys who make Fine Creek a few weeks ago here in Tokyo and got to check out a bunch of their jackets. Super cool dudes and they make a great product. I wish that there had been a jacket in my size available but unfortunately they apparently don't make many in my size for the Japanese market.

  2. @Maynard Friedman It is pretty unique denim for sure, interesting hue, very flat, no irregularities to speak of and softened up quickly. They a feel almost like thick sweatpants at this point. Also an extremely tough fabric, only pair I own that has had significant wear but has required absolutely no repairs. I made these my dirty job pair early on so they have been through a lot. I wan't wild about this pair for quite a while but after I made them the beater pair I grew quite fond of them and at this point they are one of my favorite jeans, just took a while to come into their own.

Pic of the denim when they were new for comparison sake

  3. TOYS McCOY TMJ1727 -- Been wanting to buy a jacket like this for a long, long time but could never convince myself to pull the trigger. Moved to Tokyo a few months ago and decided that now was the time. Spent the last month or so trying on every jacket I could find in my spare time, lots of awesome jackets but nothing that fit right. Ended up at the Toys Mccoy store a couple days ago and they had one of these left in a 44. Brown core horsehide, removable mouton collar, lots of pockets and embellishments. A little over the top I guess, but that is what I wanted :P

Does anyone know where one might be able to buy ues flannels in Tokyo? Bought a pair of jeans at their Daikanyama store a few years back but when I asked for flannels he just looked strangely at me.

There where no tops at all in the store at that time. Granted, t was hanami so mild weather.

They usually have them in the Daikanyama store, I think you just have to go during the correct season. Just stopped by this afternoon and bought an indigo flannel and a type II jacket. They had plenty of sizes and color options for flannels as of today anyways. One of my favorite shops in Tokyo!

  5. CARIBOU 13OZ from his last run of jeans. Been rotating jeans a lot more this last year but this has been my main go to. Have worn these perhaps 6-7 months in total with 3 washes so far. Slow fading pair compared to what I am used to but they are starting to come along nicely now.
