  1. prob had their knuckles rapped for revealing the goods too soon and spoiling the event.

    #catisoutofthebag

Inb4 Hanon sells things £100 cheaper than END again.

  2. In what world is Acronym not 'avant garde boutique design'?

By definition it is. But not categorically. I wouldn't describe it as that.

For me avant garde boutique designers are more like Rick Owens, Ann Demeulemeester and CCP. Who I would like to stereotype by saying they make hood designs like this:

    taichimurami_jcopy.jpg

  3. The hood on the j43 looks like that of some avant garde boutique designer. Which I don't like but I am sure, like other hood designs of theirs, it will look much better folded into itself in the front.

You can see here that the model is wearing the neck gaiter. I hope this isn't compulsory because of the wool fabric being abrasive against the skin. Got damn I want a j1a...

Also, lolwtf that chest pocket END couldn't fix that?

j41- Best so far. The chest pockets are cool and the inner (inner inner. innovation) looks comfortable.

    j40- 780!?

  4. With shadow project when did they stop using the Parseq grid as a selling point? Now everything has assumed modularity, I only just noticed.

How will the football hooligans know what garment to put on first?

  5. no 2 both. You prolly didn't notice that its lefty salute. This is not kosher(lol) unless one was wounded in battle/ unable to salute w/ right. But on the Internet proper nazi etiquette demands the right (even gimps r able). This should tell u that both the choices/yr thoughts u gave me are moot.

Don't want to be a grammar nazi (lol) but that shit was unreadable. Please rewrite.

So you're a communist? With your lefty nazi salute... 1000 year gulag 4 u den.

  6. With my grip on my meal deal slowly deteriorating (fuck a basket) while queuing in a long line for the cashier. I get there. They scan it. "£5.06"

Mother fucker if the nice sandwiches are in the meal deal area why aren't they in the meal deal?

  7. This was posted awhile back:

Can personally vouch for the Intelligent Armour lightweight belts (last link), I recently ordered 4 for me and a couple friends.

I'd give it the win on milspec brownie points alone. It also costs a fraction compared to any other urban-techwear-brand cobra belt out there. I can't seem to wrap my head around why the others are so pricey now, given that most of everyone's hardwear comes from AustriAlpin®.

Wish I saw those belts before I spent 3 times as much on a bagjack one T-T.

Also, these > the c clips you get w/ acronym stuff:

  8. SV version has always had the regular pocket alignment; I'm guessing they just tried something new for ss14.

Massive difference between SV and LT. Totally justifiable to own both.

@TIMDOT Cobra snaps are cool, but take a look at the cuffs on the Composite jacket and tell me they don't look fucking retarded

Nope, still look better than the strap and buckle. The cobra snaps look as if they're part of the jacket, not tacked on.

  9. And boots:

    18399.jpg

After being impressed with every deadbird item I own I can honestly say I'd wear them up a mountain. But, you know, actual function is such a trifle.

On the same street as Stone Island you have Machine A, which sells Cav Empt, and just over the road from Stone Island you have Maharishi, which has an awesome store...

Damn I missed so much. I've never actually been to the Machine A shop before. Never had a reason to before I realized it stocked CE.

  10. +1

I'll be in London this weekend and could use some guidance. Apart from the Stone Island flagship... any other recommendations?

Maybe Nike 1948 and maybe dover street market. End clothing is probably the best place in the whole of the UK but I'm not 100% sure that all their online stock is available in store. Other than that, glglglgl hfhfhfhf.

Come to think of it, I cant remember the last time I bought some UT type stuff in person. All of the wicked sales are online.

  11. I think the bag is overdesigned because there are certain little features, some are mentioned above, that the function of which is far from obvious. I believe the main function of the bag is to be messenger bag and the other transformations should be used when needed, that is, if they are ever needed. But the thing is, it's not a comfortable bag and can be clunky. The angle the bag sits at means that the plastic adjusters for the waist strap dig into your batty crease if its low and your lower back if its higher and swinging the bag around, opening it and getting stuff out isn't smooth because of the way it was designed to be used in other ways. The main examples of this are that once you have lifted the flap the zip opening has to be pulled apart and it restricts your access to the inner contents another would be the flap itself is quite heavy and also restricts access to the bag.

Now, this was an extremely ambitious product the premise of which is very cool, four bags in one. I cant think of ways of improving the problems of the bag without impinging on this gimmick.

If they ever release a bag without the four bag gimmick and in a cool fabric designed more with comfort in mind and at a lower price point I would be very tempted to cop. Would you?

  12. aaaah the red bag ;_; would you be willing to take photos of notable details and such? was trying to wrap my head around its construction when i was looking at it on flannels

also curious to know how it qualifies as "over-designed", so to speak

OK, on the flannels pics it is in briefcase mode which just makes things more complicated.

    R0055617.jpg

On the bag you can see that on the large flap there is a zip that runs across the edge. This picture is of the bag on its back with the large flap opened ((pause)note the QR buckle on the top left) and the aforementioned zip open and folded back. This would be the main way to open the bag in A3 backpack mode (as opposed to the backpack made when using the shoulder and waist straps as a backpack).

The metallic nylon fabric is what is visible throughout the whole of the inside of the bag. Through the open zip running down the flap you can see the material that is between the patterned outer and the metallic inner fabrics. The colour is somewhere between a basic red and orange but darker. It is more heavy duty and coarser than the other fabrics, I would've liked to have seen the material from the other side because the texture is smoother when pinched and rubbed together from this side than from the other side. This material is obviously there to add durability, structure and some waterproofness.

The pink-ish PARSEQ pentagon label had me hella confused because it has the same thing on one of my SP jackets which is whole garment dyed. I was thinking shit like 'oh they must put stickers on the outside to get the pattern' but then I realised... they just dye the fabric with the labels and then sew them on. Welp.

I cant figure out what this zip running down the middle is for. There are also two snaps on the part of the flap that has been folded back(Not in view).

R0055621.jpgI assume they connect somehow to the two snaps seen here but I am not sure what for. This picture is what you see when you open the bag in messenger bag mode. The divider in the white inner bag just gets in the way tbh . When the inner bag is removed it is just the red/orange material.

R0055624.jpgThe two holes mentioned in my previous comment.

  13. LOTS of SISP from past seasons discounted here http://www.flannels.com/stone-island-shadow-project

    including rare bags

    a wallet

    and a slim tie

    Enjoy

    Cheers.

Bought the dark red bag and a tie and they both came the next day. It baffles me why they're charging an extra £90 for the blue one. Would've liked the dark green one posted above but the red is a close second.

I have to say the bag is the most over-designed thing I have ever purchased. Not that that's really a bad thing, being over-designed is better than being completely arbitrary.

The white lines on black grid does at a glance look navy, which is cool.

I am happy with my purchase and that I bought it at 40-50% off. I have wanted one ever since I retrospectively saw one.

Question to those who also bought a bag: on the little side pockets does it look like they screwed up putting on the snaps (two little holes on each flap)?

  14. I completely forgot to post this, last week I did an "acronym wash" (somehow in my mind it feels like a momentous occasion?) and put my new P9/P14/P15-CH through the wash.

Very pleased to report that Black 3XDRY COTTON | NYLON STRETCH does not appear to fade like other lightshells! Admittedly, I've only ever washed Epic before and I know that it immediately (as in, after 1 wash) shows signs of fading/age. CH on the other hand, does not. Washed and irons up very nice and still looks like new. Very happy with this stuff for now. The grey melange isn't going to ever really show age, but black usually does, so it's nice to see it still looking right.

In other news, I wanted to ask the community here what kinds of Acronym garments they would like to see, but don't exist. Something you've always wanted but has never been made. Maybe someone from Arconym reads this thread and will consider it as a future project.

For instance, I've always wanted a P10-X. The P10 is one of my favourite styles and X-Fast is my favourite textile. I'd love to see them come together.

More graphic tees! More unexpected colabs!

Question: Where do I find out about different materials? It seems people on here know a decent amount.

  15. People who use -ists and -isms that have no fucking clue what they actually mean. My favourite: "I'm not a feminist... I'm a humanist." (reminds me of "I'm not a rapper")

Also in a political context when other words would suffice e.g. extreme right wing national = nazi/fascist.
