  1. Megatron, that post was top notch. As far as Lawless is concerned, I don't think I've ever seen a new company or manufacturer that hasn't had its trial by fire. Nobody does it right the first time. Lawless might have bit off more than they could chew, but I still think they can have a place in the market if they can salvage their reputation and respond properly to criticism. I'm all for denim diversity lol.

I think crowdsourcing is also an interesting aspect to it all. I think it really has a lot to do with how we perceive these new companies, in a bad way. It shaves away any sort of credibility when you can have a group of guys who have virtually no experience running a business, let alone one that involves a skilled craft, get a crap ton of money from "investors" who also don't have any idea how to invest well, other than get their discounted gift-thing. We don't get the neat origin story from humble beginnings, the same sense of security knowing that the business has been going for so many years and only getting better.

And though that's not the case for every crowdsourced company, I've found that that stigma of new-ness still carries over and makes it hard for myself, and probably others to respect them.

Slightly related, I sort of found an answer to Tmadd's question on the last thread when he asked if they actually made the jeans in Arizona or in an LA factory, all I've been able to find was a little sentence about it on their kickstarter page,

" In a vintage building in Los Angeles and a modern store in Phoenix, American craftspeople come together every day with one thing on their mind—hand crafting jeans, purses, jackets, belts and other accessories that they can be proud of. "

So my guess would be they do contract the work out to a factory in LA.

  2.

i need a natural leather belt for my my ps. i have a size 28 and a 1 1/2 belt is too thick/wide/big for them. any suggestions?

(i know its supposed to be on the 3rd hole, just showing how big the belt is compared to the front)

I think that's hilarious. I'm not sure where you got yours but I have one I made from a blank full grain belt strip from Tandy Leather Factory. The quality is pretty good as I've had it for over a year now with zero issues. It's aging nicely I think. But more importantly, unless I'm mistaken, it doesn't look as thick as that behemoth belt you've got there.

  3. I think they look ok. A little on the tight side but you don't look like you're bursting out of them. If you haven't washed them yet you're probably in for a rough re-stretch out period.

But more importantly I think if you want us to convince you to like them, you probably don't like them yourself.
