  1. Here are half the jeans i wore in during 2012-now. X-posts from their respective threads.

LVC 501xx 1933 from 2010 IIRC. My first pair of Raw Selvedge denim, bought in March 2012. they have had 8-9 months of wear and 4-5 washes, can't remember exactly. the whisker wore through and ripped on one side. gonna get them fixed soon.

PBJXPronto dec05 (XX-012). second pair of raw selvedge denim, in Dec 2012. i wore them to 240 wears/8 months a few months back. They have had 3 soaks and 3 washes.

  2. A page or two back someone mentioned wanting to see how 40500 Edo Ai ages. Well i don't have Sugar Cane's version, but i do have a pair of jeans made of the same fabric. Artist Demim MTO in Nihon Menpu SC 40500. maybe they aren't relevant here but for reference's sake since i can't find 40500 evo elsewhere.

they've had 55 wears, a hot soak and 2 washes. they have no leg twist since the fabric was pre-soaked before being sewn into a pair of jeans. i have to say they lose dye quite readily though and now look quite pale.

  3. damn, now i want that D1677 pair against all my better judgements. suddenly jumped up to the top of my want list.

So basically if i were to get this, i'd have to pre-order by proxy, emailing the guy called Yuichi at [email protected] right?

Does anyone know if this denim is sanforized or unsanforized?

  4. Month two.

    same old, now in Bangkok.

At the very least i can wear my jeans almost 24/7, to work and anywhere unless occasions call for a more formal alphet. But then my work isn't really in office. this month i went on a few power plant inspection, really a fitting place to wear denim, but maybe not 25oz one.

  5. Damn, i'm jealous of you guys with wheels on the road. since the competition started my workload has increased quite a bit, and i have not had any real excursion outside Bangkok except work related at all. I guess I can still share some pics as to what my jeans and i have been through these past 3 months.

    May, First Month.

evening stroll near my place. i live on the very edge of bangkok, so the scenery here will be different from the usual popular image of the city.

End of month one. Really it was all just work this month. sitting on my ass didn't fade my jeans very well.

Well, if there's any highlight denim-related, the good people at denimhunters gave me a chance to do a review of my competition jeans here:

    https://www.denimhunters.com/2015/05/chinese-heavyweight-contender-25-oz-red-cloud-r400sp-r424sp/

This is essentially a review i posted here in Red Cloud thread a few months back, updated and polished to befit a more official publication.

Bonus: Like i have said this denim's weave is quite regular, so not much in term of slub. I reached to my inner left thigh, and felt some noticeable irregularity there. Sure enough, it was a strand of uneven yarn. So this is the slubbiest part my pair possess.

  9. These are so DARK! It's awesome. BTW your r400's are insane my friend. I hope mine become as glorious as yours.

Yeah man, the denim is very dark. I can foresee a very high contrast fade with this for sure.

Oh thanks for your kind words. Being in tropical climate really helps, but many people who live hear cannot seem to wear in theirs, so the real key is to be active in your jeans methink. i cycle, walk, hike, work out, party and sometimes sleep in them which probably explain the fade.

Dha Dha, my next pair were due to be West Ride but your posts are making me think I should pick up some RCs. They look really good.

I came across West Ride the other day and their stuff all look interesting, but definitely give RC a go! the new 2015 R400 with new twisted weft look very interesting.

  10. First Month Update

The jeans now have 31 wears/1 month. They are now noticeably softer, but still quite rigid. The hairiness has subsided in areas of high friction, and the dye in those area starts to give way to brighter blue shades. Already around waist band one can see how this denim would fade. I presume that with few washes, or even more than a few, these will develop a very high contrast fade.

There's more picture on DWC forum or in RC thread
