Hi guys,
would like to share my mysterious discovery re. slub denim with you.
while prowling through secondhand jeans shop in Thai-Cambodia border market, Rong Kleur (many a vintage levi's legends were discovered here back in the day, now also notorious for fakes of all kinds), i stumbled upon this thing. brand new. totally unworn. in my size. for the equivalent of 40 buck (later hack down to 33).
now i have handled my fair share of slub denim, including having seen most of the denim presented in this thread in person, and even wear some of them at the moment. but this is another thing entirely.

close up, patch says CPO
YKK zip, button and rivets, overall hardwares are a bit shit or at best uninspiring, and construction is so-so at best

I found these in a secondhand shop for the equivalent of..........6 buck. no choice. had to pick up.
Too bad they're too big, so gave to my brother who didn't seem to appreciate them much. but, well, 6 bucks, could do a lot worse.
can anyone id model/year? appears to not be raw, but with heavy wears no doubt. Tag says Sanforized, but a lot of it is faded or in Japanese.

hi, long time lurker now finally graduated from college of fade, so would like to share my result with you guys
here's my 1933, my first pair of selvedge denim, bought size 34 re. Levi's advice, wayyy oversize considering i'm usually 31-32
anyway i didn't know better to sell them and get the correct size, so i wore them super loose. now they are super soft and comfy and has since been relegated to a pyjamas pair, or one of those day where my hungover brain cannot stand being wrapped by form fitting heavier denims
have had them for about 2 years, effective wear time 8-9 months, multiple boiling soaks, 3-4 washes after the first 6 months
i feel like no matter what denim/brand i move on to, i will always need to have Levi's and LVC somewhere in my collection

Kings of Slub - jeans made from slubby denim...

but really, what got my attention is the fabric (and the fact that it's brand new, and $33)
very irregular, slubby and streaky. with most slub denim you kinda see a pattern in the fabric itself. This is a bit more chaotic. The fabric is about 17-18oz.
