  1. Taking a second look i don't think either if those cuts will work for me. Kinda sucks. Guess j have to wait for another s0500 collab. Have they ever made a 17oz version of the s0500? I've searched but nothing came up...

  2. @bf

    Thanks. Maybe I'll email Yuichi. I'm looking at either the 711vx or the 298 710vx from unique jeans.jp on the samurai blog. The Jin buttons and selvedge on the inside of the button fly so sick. Contrast arcs on both pairs.

    "Totally get where you are coming from Robert, but there is a difference between 'anti' fit and 'doesn't' fit. Some people like it and can get away with it if the rest of their style is complimentary, but judging from fishtacologins well fitting t shirt (that's a compliment) that's not his style..."

    ^nicely put. But honestly his v-neck hardly looks fitted. Especially since he's pulled it back to show (how) his jeans fit.

    Although this is the best advice anyone could give:

    "do you feel f@ing ace in them? Do you feel comfortable in them? Or do they feel a bit weird? Do they make you feel a bit self conscious? If it's more the former then f everyone and rock your style. If the latter swap them."

  4. From the samurai blog. 710vx. Jin buttons, selvedge on the inside button fly, contrast arc, special patch:[url=http://delbombers.ocnk.net/phone/product/128]http://delbombers.ocnk.net/phone/product/128

    @fishtacologin

    I actually like the fit on you contrary to bf and max power. They looked sized up IMO but nothing a wash won't take care of. I say wear and tear.Personally I like a more relaxed anti-fit. I've bought tts in the past, although a much bigger (size 34), and I noticed faster crotch fades headed towards blow outs. Not a big fan of 300$ jeans that don't last. The last pair I bought is 2 sizes too big to allow for shrinkage and frequent washes. I'm starting to go by the old levis 501 flasher. Size up 1 or 2 depending on waist/length size and so on and so forth. Hope this helps your decision.

  5. Looking for a budget pair of denim, sub-$100, ideally around $70/pair. Looking to supplement my APC NS's that I've had for years with a couple pairs of something comfortable that aren't too costly. Raw is okay, but I really wouldn't mind washed as long as there are no obnoxious fades. Needs a button fly and no gaudy stitching, etc. Love the fit of my APC's, so something similar in fit would be ideal.

    I checked out Uniqlo, but the zipper fly is a bit of a turn-off. But that's basically the quality I'm looking for (something like the MIJ Uniqlo's would be perfect it sounds). Purchasable online and shippable to the US, preferably.

    Thanks for any help.

    Gap has a decent pair/cut of raws. The slim isn't as skinny as you think. Sanforized/japan redline, Mid-high rise, Full top block, tapered to hell and button fly. If you can deal with the exposed coin pocket selvedge you can cop a pair on sale up to almost half off. The cut though is aimed at the masses.

  6. @chubacca

    I was going to wash them again but I didn't think it was necessary. Plus I was anxious to wear them. Like I said in previous post everything fits exactly how I wanted it except the length. I plan on stretching the living hell out of em on my days off. Hopefully it'll be 80 degrees out here in SF this weekend. I honestly can't wait to wash. I plan on machine washes every 3-5 wears hence the upsize. Hopefully by summer my SAMs will turn bohemian.

    @artisandenim

    Looks like a fade to me. Veiny though.. Let's see the whole frontside

    I would have bought the 35 but the waist was virtually the same plus I need a longer back rise. It's weird how a cm can make that difference. If you saw me in person you would think I was a true 32 but I have "athletic" legs, lol. Think Jean Claude van damme. Size wise though, I think it's more of a 35 top block with 36 legs. I'm usually a 34 but I plan to wash and tumble dry regularly.

    Fit pics when I get the chance

  8. ^ I have a feeling you are going to do good things in this pair!

    Thanks man. It's a shame I can only wear on the weekends as my job requires a uniform. But Right off the bat I'm noticing slight discoloring and just from one day. Fade capable for sure. Pretty stoked

    Day 1

    Samurai S0500XX

    Creases set, thank you skateboarding. Some lightweight train tracks forming on left knee from surf slide bail. Can't wait to wear again. So glad I sized up. I'll post again in a week...

  10. One wash S0500xx in from pirates today. Sized up 2. Really stoked on the relaxed fit. They sit right on my hips.

    I've read that Yuichi machine washes but how much more would the back rise shrink. Everything else is spot on except for the stacking length

    I accidentally gave you a negative rep point a page back. My bad, the page was too small and I have hammerhead thumbs.

    For reference, I just ordered some s500 one washed from pirates. This time I sized up 2 so I can wash and machine dry them regularly. Based on yuichis measurements the waist after wash is a cm too big but the everything else is spot on. I would have sized up 1 but the rise would be to low for my junk. I only rock runners with jeans and I think either the 500 or 710 would work best. FYI I had a bad experience with the 510s. The top block fit like a glove but the wide legs had me looking like a 90s raver chick. Not sure of the 5000s but it all depends on body type.

    If I was you I would buy a one wash version from Yuichi at pirates. He'll get back to you quick fast with measurements. Either way good luck..

  12. Anybody know how much shrinkage you get drying Texas cotton In the machine? I like the idea of regularly machine washing and drying for the summer. Thinking of sizing up 1 or 2. Thoughts?

    Worn for a month on weekends only. One warm soak for an hour. Chain stitched to 36.5 at selvedge sf then another cold soak for 20 min. They have softened up a bit but with a soak it should stiffen up again. Expect more shrinkage but not much though. Whiskers aren't fully set and no combs since the leg is loose. Some slight dis coloring in the crotch but only in the light. These are in the "infant" new born stages of its life.

    Coming from LVC I found the rise too low despite it being labeled high rise full cut. Seems to be a more modern fit as people describe it on the form.

    Not my style though. My loss your gain. I will post pics later or you can just text me
