Bought 2 sizes too big (over oversized). Worn 3 days dry( to form fit fwiw). No tub so I Took a 40 min hot shower and the jeans shrunk right before my eyes. It was pretty amazing btw. I'm actually pretty stoked on the loose anti-fit. Sits right on my hips and with the long rise the inseam allows a stacked cuff. Worn damp to dry...Side note, levis SF can install crotch rivets for 5 bucks. Haven't decided if i really want one though.

  2. Just skimmed through first 30 pages of this thread. Lol. I gave someone a negative rep point but only by accident. Thumbs too big.... I've seen some amazing fades here, proof that 30$ raws are fade worthy. STF's are good, selvedge or not. I just copped a pair of the Premium (selvedge) 501's From the SF store for $90. The quality/details has only gotten better in Mexico! Truth in sarcasm. Sized up 2 for an anti-hero fit, hella big. I'm post pics later

There is probably about an inch or so of shrink left in the inseam. Maybe a .25 elsewhere. They are still very starchy. Tagged a 36 they fit on the small side. All in all The jeans have seen about 2 hours wear, if you want to call it that. Basically worn to get a coffee,

around town and back. No creases, no fades and no bullshit. Retails for 345$USD at BIG and sold out in this size.

  4. If anyone is interested in a pair of red Hawks from BIG in size 36 or a pair of aikidou naniwas s500 size 34 (same as max powers) please message me. RedHawks are worn once. Naniwas are untouched. I wanted to give dibs to this thread. Otherwise I'll post in a few days.

Probably have a good 1 inch left of shrink in the inseam and a .25 inch everywhere else but I think I'm gonna break em in as is. Had them chopped down 2 inches by BIG with the lemon stitch for extra contrast. Rest of the stitching is orange. I am stoked on these. 500s gonna chill for a bit.

  6. Reading up on vx denim I've found that shrinkage/stretching is extreme in comparison to Texas 15oz and 19oz . true for the black variety?? I've seen pre and post soak measurements for the bkvx but wondering what a lived in pair stretches out to.

  10. From the pics it doesn't look like they have the contrast arcs, more so just a pocket bag that's been stitched. Maybe I'm wrong, but my naniwa's pocket bags aren't stitched (through) the same way.

  11. Speaking of updates. 7 weeks in:

I could have gone 34 and been fine. The waist on these stretched out 6cm from it's one washed state but it actually suits my lifestyle, lol. They are coming along though and I'm very happy. I think in the future I'll go 34 for sure. Waiting for the 500OG august release but debating the 710s....

  12. 1 month update

    3 weeks effective wear

    3 machine washes

    1 hand wash

So the "soul glow" method didnt do much for the fades although at the time it seemed liked a good idea, lol.

    Heres some pics....

No fit pics but here are aome photos after the 2 washes. As mentioned in above post, I rubbed hemp oil/Afro sheen into combs, whiskers, and thigh areas to attract dirt and fade progress.

You can see the areas in the denim where the Afro sheen has become heavily saturated. I did this right before the 8th wear. The idea was too manufacture dirt and grime "naturally". I plan on washing again after doing some yard work this weekend. I'm curious how effective the Afro sheen method will be. A tumble dry will follow the next bath....

Btw these are 2 sizes too big and have stretched out sloppily, exactly how I wanted them. I recommend tts for a regular fit in the current lot 17...

  14. S0500XX one wash

Washed after the 7th wear. Cold machine with a table spoon of tide, maybe a bit more. Lost .5cm in the thigh, front and back rise, leg opening. 2cm in waist and 1cm in length. Trying to embrace the blotchy fades left from an aggro "industrial" coin opachine. No real progress except for the obvious clean pair of jeans. I ended up rubbing some Indian hemp (Afro-sheen) oil on whisker, thigh, comb area, in an attempt to attract dirt for the next 7 wears. We'll see though.

  15. @bf

Yeah. Ever since I got my 500s I've been having complex samurai fantasies.

Pretty sure I'm not alone here:

    500VX

19oz waist band and inside button fly selvedge on both sides

Lemon contrast arcs over fader arcs

    Black patch

    Offset belt loop

    Bartack instead of hidden rivets

Silver chainstitch if that's at all possible

    It'll probably never happen though
