  1. Anyone know what that bag is between the 3A-3TS and the 3A-5B at 45 seconds in? They seem to have missed it off the name panel on the right.

    It's just a 5TS isn't it?

Side note: if anyone wants some cash to buy one of these, I'm now in the market for used X-Pac items. Not at all interested in this new leather-esque material.

  2. and some hints about the -ch version to come in a few weeks? I've heard it's the same fabric as the ss12 p9-ch (schoeller shape nyco)

From what I can tell, the P10-CH is the same CH as SS-12 (3XDRY COTTON | NYLON STRETCH). I've got an SP9-CH, and I must say it's by far my favourite ACR pant fabric. Not as waterproof as X-Fast or SS-13's CH, but incredibly comfortable and breathable.

But there is also apparently another CH for P14 and P15, as seen in the video. From what I gather, this is the same CH as from SS-13 but 'unlaminated'. This means that it will be better suited to hot weather (probably more breathable), and hopefully less noisy (one of the noisiest fabrics I've experienced, which isn't a great property for pants).

No idea if there is any overlap between the pant styles (P10 vs P14/P15) and the different textiles. I've only seen P10 in grey and P14/15 in black so far. If they are all available in both textiles, I've got some difficult decisions to make.

  3. I don't know Dolphinski, a lot of those photos don't looks like B@TG to me. Many of them have an official ACR pic first, but if you click on the item there are more photos from another source.

  4. Much older Acronym designs had a the same sleeve cover (but not leather) which did not cover a sown-on pocket. There was a secondary arm-pocket you could buy that would tuck under the sleeve to keep covered from the elements. It provides a bit of weather protection on the new designs as well. It's not real leather, and it's actually quite malleable so you can move it up easily to access the pocket. Obviously it's not as easy to get to the pocket as it would be if the leather wasn't there, but it doesn't put up much resistance.

You can see one of the early designs in this vid.

  5. The sizing for this season's P10-E match all previous P10 size charts. Can anyone else chime in, are this season's P10 genuinely larger than previous P10 or is the sizing info simply incorrect for all seasons?

  6. Seems to me that all (new) ACR products include either the Escape Zip, or a two-way zip. The two-way zips are used on coat and blazer type garments, as well as many soft shells (J25, J5). The Escape Zip is used for hard and light shell 'outer layer' type garments.

  7. Well with the FW-1314 season, they issues blank tabs as well as ACRNM ones. Since they're not part of the garment, people who prefer a non-logo style can elect to use one without needing to have exposed velcro on the collar.

As long as they're interchangeable, I can continue to use them on any new items I get. Only need one at a time, after all. It's still a damn shame. Acronym branding is fantastic. I imagine it will start to become a relevant component when selling older used items.

  8. Well now we've heard from Europe, UK and US. Anyone else want to chime in on importation procedures? We might find some way to collectively reduce purchasing costs for absolutely-certain buys. For instance, you could feasibly use an Aussie proxy for shipments worth less than 1,000AUD, since they enter Australia without being taxed by either country. After that they could be sent around the world at less-than-full-value, at the buyer's own risk. You pay double the shipping but that's cheaper than $600 in fees.

  9. I might as well chime in here. I'm a Queenslander, which means hot and humid most of the year. The winters are different; just hot.

While I do own quite a few ACR pieces now, in quite a few fabrics, I don't wear them often. Mostly because it's too hot. I can't wait to move somewhere else. If you ever think of Australia as being some tropical, mild paradise know that sweating at 2am because it's still 32 degrees and 80% humidity is not fun. But I digress.

I think part of the problem with some CH items is the ENERGEAR backer. I say 'problem', but I'm sure it's fantastic in cooler weather. They're crazy insulators, but insulation isn't what you want when it's hot.

But 'CH' designates loads of textiles. The CH from SS-12 and SS-14, "schoeller® 3XDRY COTTON | NYLON STRETCH", is fantastic in hot weather. Feels a bit like a denim in terms of climate, very pleasant to wear.

  10. Only thing I'd change would be to have the black modular hanging pocket that Velcros in between the liner and the bag made out of a white cloth. That pocket is handy as hell for pen, notepad, keys, and headache pills, and I do wish I didn't have to fish ineffectually in its dark depths every time a lingerie model asks me for an ibuprofen or my phone number.

I think this is perhaps what the tec sys is for. You snap a mini pocket on the outside for those little bits and pieces you want to find in a pinch.

  11. That's not leather and not 'new' 3rd Arm ;)

Those bags are (very) old limonta versions, back in tha days when they used that version it didn't develop a patina but wore off to a more leather-looking shine fabric.

    Oh good.

I know lots of you guys like the Limonata, but for me X-PAC is the only way to go. Can't wait to finally get my hands on a 3A-1, or 3A-3TS. I still can't decide!

  12. ^ Exactly my concerns. Don't think I could risk being hit with the insane custom duties that some have mentioned when ordering directly from Acronym to the US.

For AU customers you only get hit if the total value of all packages is above 1,000AUD, and at that point it would be about 300AUD or so in charges. All items that arrive together are considered the same package, so if you order from lots of sources and they all enter the country at the same time they get added up.

Because of that, I probably won't be getting a J38-GT. As much as I want one, I know I'd get taxed. About 700~euro is the cutoff for me.

  13. All right, let's do this.
