  1. for me, these jackets are the core to Acronym's design philosophy and no Acronym collection is complete without one

Same here, which is why I'm keen to get my hands on a GT one. Something so overbuilt that would make a soldier look ill-equipped.

  2. I'm going to go ahead and call it 'stupidly waterproof'.

Although I have noticed that in particularly heavy downpours (similar to

) the hood and cuffs did wet through. I would recommend sizing up though. I bought my regular Acronym size (small) and the hood is too small to adequately keep my face dry.
  3. Sometimes it's better to wait until you find someone who actually wants the item you're looking to sell, and not give in to bargain-chasers. I've often managed to get two-to-three times what items go for on eBay in auction just by being patient. These guys have the right idea: put it up at the price you want with a best offer option and let it run 'till cancelled or sold. Fuck an auction sniper.

Still, $1,700 for an Epic vest has to be way over value right? Surely didn't cost that much when it was new.

  4. Updates

    FS: 3A-11TS, SET-3 (small)

    3A-11TS - 250AUD
Special 'mini' inlay designed for smaller tablets (iPad mini / 8" devices). Regular 10" inlay available from bagjack for 38 euro.
Used three times (like new condition), comes with bag and spec sheet.

    SET-3 (small) - 800AUD
Looking to trade for a medium SET-3. Otherwise, would be willing to sell for the right price.
Worn thrice, includes spec sheets, bags and tags for all components.

    J1A-S (small) - SOLD

    J38-S (small) - SOLD
    DS-SL1 (small) - SOLD

  5. Does anyone have any idea, realistically, how many items Acronym produces in each item each season?

We already know they're small runs, but on top of that there are about 20 different models (including colour variation) in 4 different sizes. Between a P10-E in Olive Medium, and a J36-GT black-on-olive in large, there are easily 80 distinct items Acronym is selling.

How many of each item could there really be?

  6. Put the jacket on > get ready to close it > grab the left side of the zipper with your left hand > grab the loop with your left hand > now guide the right side of the zipper into the left side while holding the loop as opposed to the zipper itself > notice how elegantly this works as opposed to fumbling with the right side zipper part…

    This checks out, thanks.

  7. Anyone who doesn't like the look of the logos can take them off old branded stock.

But those of use who like the look of the logos can't add them to new stock.

  8. So I just recently got a DS-J5 (thanks SuE!) and I'm a little puzzled by a detail affixed to the bottom of the primary zipper.

It's a small loop made out of the same stuff as the jacket sling anchors. Any ideas what it is?

  9. 3A-1 in Grey!? anyone have a picture of what this looks like? I went with black regardless.... so tempted to buy grey just because :D

For anyone confused about the colour difference,

  10. The problem with cordura is it can cause pilling on some fabrics used in jackets (ie DS-J5, ask me how I know).

How do you know? Isn't pilling simply caused by abrasion, regardless of the source?

  11. It had a slight sheen to it, but I don't know if it looked all that leathery

Well I doubt it would be real leather. That's not really ACRNM's style (and yes, I know there have been leather jackets, but it's not mainline stuff). But until we know what it is, that's the adjective I'm going with.
