  1. Off topic;

Does anyone have any experience with Outlier's 'Pivot' shirts? If you scroll down on this page you can see a demo on what it is. Seems like what Acronym would do with a shirt, I'm thinking of getting one.

  2. I found that it was impractical to use the WK2 due to how long it is; having it hang off a belt or anything would result in an excessive amount of jingling while I walked. Not very ninja. I'm going to pair it with an Orbitkey, which will make it shorter in length and more secure.

  3. New year sale time!

Trying to move a few pieces of Acronym

    J1A-S Small (FW-1314)

BNWT (spec sheet, bag and tag)

    3A-11TS

Special 'mini' inlay designed for smaller tablets (iPad mini / 8" devices). I bought this from nitty gritty and it came with this inlay, I decided to keep it anyway since I've got a Dell Venue 8 Pro (which it fits). If people are interested you can buy a regular 3A-11TS inlay from bagjack for 38 euro. Used three times (like new condition), comes with bag and spec sheet (no tags, I don't know if it ever had them though).

    DS-SL1 Small (SS-12)

Worn a dozen times, washed once to re-activate surface (hasn't been worn since the wash). Comes with tags, no bag or spec sheet.

    That's it for now.

  4. i believe fidlock did reverse polarity sometime between mid 2011 and early 2012. i had a 3a-wk2 from 2011 that i discovered wasn't compatible with the complementary pieces from a 2012 3a-wk2. my working hypothesis is that the newer ("reversed" polarity) fidlocks are blank/unbranded, while the older fidlocks had the "Fidlock" patented logo on them.

is your 3a-wk2 an older one? if so, you could look to trade with people that use them solely as keychains or just buy a new one. i traded my old 3a-wk2 for vampyrvargfesten's new 3a-wk2 so that he could use the keyring end with the suspensor harness in the s-j14, which also uses the old fidlock magnets. all of the 3a-wk2s i've seen since 2012 (probably ~3/4) have shared the same polarity pairing, so i'm thinking this has only changed once in the past few years. of course this could be just by chance, so if anyone has more info or if i'm wrong, feel free to correct.

    hope that helps.

Thanks for the info insomnia. My 3A-WK2 is branded, and the new unit I bought is not. I'll try extremtextil first, if they have the older polarity that's the cheapest way for me to get what I need. I bought my 3A-WK2 recently, so if acrnm has stock of both the old and new ones they must be selling them indiscriminately.

  5. Glad I could help.

In other news, I bought a fidlock buckle unit to use with my 3A-WK2, so I can attach other objects to the same docking point. Unfortunately, it seems that the polarity of the magnet in my new fidlock is the opposite of the polarity in the acrnm one, so they won't connect to each other (you can force them together, but it's very difficult).

Does anyone know anything about this? Did fidlock reverse their polarity at some point, or is it just random for each unit?

  6. Ultimately, though, the way it clings to dust and small debris gave it a rather cheap look that I couldn't live with given how much I paid.

Would you say that is a property of the GTPL material?

  7. I will cherish my WS-J25 forever.  My favorite ACR gear.  Its my motivation to not get fat(ter).

I agree, and I would say that if I had to sell or give away all my acrnm gear it would be the very last piece I part with.

  8. Bench at the Greene, proxy by stylisticsspace. They charge through the bloody nose for it though, 70,000 yen (almost double the original list price, I think). They only had S & M when I ordered, the S might be all gone now.

  9. FINALLY got my hands on a WS-J25. The thing just arrived in the mail today.

It's a fantastic jacket, absolutely sublime material. Smaller than I was expecting, but it still fits (yay!). Seems to me that older acrnm seasons had a smaller sizing than today's.

I cannot believe that acrnm stopped making these things, it should be constantly in stock. The material is amazingly waterproof, I cannot wet it, even by force. I tried trapping a small pool of water in a crease then squeezed it together, the water simply shot out the end. Rubbing droplets merely causes them to spread out before rolling away. It's super thin and light as well.

I find jacketsling to be kind of pointless for this type of jacket, you're either wearing it or your stow it using the carabiner. Still, it's nice having the option.

Just while writing this, the heavens opened and let forth a tropical storm. And I need to head out. Perfect timing :D

  10. Just received SET-3 from B@TG via stylisticsspace. Would recommend their services. Rep+ for taosoace for the assist.

    Will post SET-3 thoughts later.

EDIT: Well, I've had a chance to try on the SET. Just worn about the house mind, haven't worn them out yet.

I had to buy it in small but I'm usually a medium for acrnm pants. It's a bit larger than today's smalls though, and fits somewhere between the small and medium of recent season's sizes. About an inch shorter in the leg than I would like, but it does the job.

P8TS-X: Very nice pant, I prefer it immediately to the P11-CH (which is also quite nice). It's got a very interesting cut to it, especially the lower leg, (same as the P8TS-S). The TEC SYS grid itself is nice and malleable, makes it easy to attach items. I like the X-Fast material, nice and lightweight for summer. Breathable, soft and silent.

3A-MF1: Harder to use than I was expecting. It's got two zips and two pockets, not just one like the 3A-MP2TS. The real trick is trying to get the fidlock anchor in the right place. I can't seem to position it on the TEC SYS grid so that it grabs on to the MF1 without hassle. Maybe you need to anchor it on a belt, rather than the grid, for optimal function? I don't think I'll use it much either way. It sticks out a lot at the back if anything is in it, and makes it very difficult to access the back pocket and the trouser itself.

    3A-WB2: It's a belt.

3A-SB: Not much to say really. It's not as useful as you might think, due to the elastic retention strap. I don't know why they didn't just go with Velcro for all of the SET bags, like they did for the SET-1 3A-SA.
