  1. I caved and picked up a pair of Studio D'Artisan Nep Denim Jeans that was made for Self Edge (model D1714 w/ no crotch rivet). I got a size 29 and put it through a warm machine wash. Measurements for those interested:

    Waist: 31-->29.5in at first and now it's at about a 30in

    Thigh: 11.8in --> 11.2in

    Knee: 8.6-->8.1in

    Hem (@29inch inseam): 7.8in

    Front Rise: 10.75-->10.2in

    Back Rise: 15.2-->14.7in

    Inseam: 36.5-->34

    The denim is super dark and almost looks black. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this pair ages.

  2. So that new FH dobby shirt that SE has looks really nice.

    Maybe the 48 would work for me. The fabric looks incredible.

    I don't do much instacopping the moment I open a delivery box but this shirt was definitely a situation where I opened the box, picked up my size, tried it on and didnt take it off for the rest of the day. I'm glad that we're able to bring in size 48...hopefully they start making that size for more shirts too.

  3. Sorry kiya, another question...If I'm on the larger side of a 38" chest (5'8", 145lbs), would the Mister Freedom N-1H be too large in a size 40? I have a Buzz N-1 in size small, which is way too small. Was going to size up to a "Medium" (which corresponds to 38) but this beaut popped up...

    these jackets fit big...it seems like we are the same size and I'd do the size 36...maybe 38 if i wanted a roomier fit.

  4. I want to know what person really needs a 36" length after shrink inseam. I have a gut feeling that most just aren't comfortable with jeans that aren't too long for them.

    It's usually the case where people would be fine w/ a 34 length or shorter but just prefer longer for stacks and what not but also I think you'd be surprised how many people we deal with on a regular basis who actually need the length and aren't just stack enthusiasts.

  5. ^^ Those look great. I picked one up from SESF a couple of weeks ago during the sale and the construction is a work of art. Question though: Does the wallet ever get softer over time? It definitely flattened out a bit since I got it but it's still uncomfortable to sit on when I have it in my back pocket especially during long drives...

    Honestly, you should probably take out any wallet you're sitting on for long drives. Your back will thank you! I wish I did that sooner....

  6. It's subtle but the indigo t-shirt fabric is one of the softest fabrics i've ever felt for a t-shirt. The white t-shirt fabric has changed a bit too. They're both a little thicker than previous versions. I got more crocking from the t-shirt than other indigo t-shirts so i'm expecting these to age a little quicker.

  7. how often do people try to drop off their nasty never washed jeans for a repair?

    it's not super often but often enough that we make sure to always say "please wash your jeans before bringing them in" whenever it comes up. I also ask people to let their jeans dry completely before bringing it in...that's almost as bad as dirty jeans.

  8. I looked at all the other SCs, and the 2009s (at least on self edge) looked to be a bt tighter in the thigh and knee and more tapered, albeit just a bit more. Similar to the 12oz 3sixteen SL-101x in fit, which I was also considering. But If I'm going up in weight in SCs, I think my 2nd choice would be the 2014 12oz, since it seems not as loose as the Okinawa but not as tight as the 2009s.

    But really the few fit pics and measurements of the 11oz summertime jeans seem to me my sweet spot and the right weight and something easy to start with for a newbie to raw denim. I wouldn't want to go much slimmer or heavier than this, which is why I nixed the 2009 and the 3sixteen option. Second best, at least on paper, seems to be the SC 2014 12 oz. But this is the forum to correct me if any of these impressions about tightness of fit are wrong (i.e. after breaking in, etc).

    2014 is more tapered and slimmer than the 2009.

  9. The cut on the 3sixteen is perfect for me esp after a wash. I tend to prefer the shorter cut t-shirts so a lot of t-shirts are too long for me. I've had a bunch over the last few years and they've all lasted me the entire time. I have some 3sixteen t-shirts from 4 years ago that I still wear regularly.

  10. Some of the fake levis in thailand are done prettttyyyy well. I remember wanting to buy this type II jacket that looked so legit but didnt because the price seemed too good to be true.

  11. Thanks a lot for the help guys. So stitchdown construction doesn't use gemming? Didn't know that, and not going to lie, that is a plus. Also, i think that stitchdown construction has a more rugged look than GYW, which to me is dressier.

    Too bad I waited too long to exchange my boondockers and now viberg's site (only place with them stitchdown) is out  :(

    I think as long as it's from a reputable brand, GYW vs stitchdown probably won't matter much but then again we are on a forum where many differences in details are small and probably don't mean much to most people but we notice and care. I'm a little wary of viberg's switch to goodyear welt but i have 3 pairs of vibergs and they're still hand down the best boots i've worn so I have no reason really to doubt them.
