Listen, I really told you all I had to tell on the matter. My conscience is very clear,  and I am happy to move on all of this.
Now it's really up to you!

chill out everyone. de-escalate. no more insults and so on. plenty of other places on internet for that. thx.

Absolutely and as you say yourself I don't have to be here and can go elsewhere.

501XX I’m just curious. What would make you happy?
you seem bitter about everything at this point??
I get your upset. You like Ed. you hate Volvo and double 0

It has nothing to do with making me happy and I am neither bitter or upset. I actually don't like Ed or think enough of Volvo or double 0 to hate either of them.

I'll probably have a cigarette later and that usually makes me happy. Does that answer your rather pretentious questions?

I have been asking Hajime and Tcb to make a WW2 repro cut since the end of the 50s contest, I think it was 2015 but I can easily be mistaken on the exact year. It took a while to Hajime to find a pair of jeans to reproduce, and yes It's a coincidence that Ryo told me about their plans to actually make a WW2 cut in 2020 just about at the same time the WH contest derailed.

More importantly, apologies for my unfortunate "click elsewhere" comment. Now that I read it again I should have perhaps let my brain cells operate a couple seconds more before hitting the "submit reply" button. That would have saved you from calling me "il duce", which is a way worse kind of insult, as I am pretty sure you are realizing now.

I really hope you bought some Lottery tickets on the day you "coincidentally" heard the news from Ryo that they were making the WW2 cut, at the same time you made huge effort to get the Warehouse contest derailed because that is some kind of cosmic good fortune right there.

For the record I knew exactly what kind of insult "il duce" was when I used it and the reason I used it is because saying "click elsewhere" is the exact same same kind of pseudo-Fascist bullshit as the whole "if you don't like it, go back to your own country", so maybe if you're so sensitive about the Fascist connotations, don't act like one. Also, if you really don't like it you can just get the gang to give the post 20 neg reps and it will be gone, I mean that worked for you before right?

Somewhat ironic that a member of 'Superdenim' with the username @501XX4EVER and a photo of Levi Strauss as his avatar doesn't like discussing jeans

Have you considered facebook instead? i'm sure there would be much less denim chat over there..

I never said I don't like discussing jeans, I made a lighthearted remark about the anal retentive horse shit about the '44 cut you used to find on denimbro.

Have you considered Facebook yourself? I sure it's full of smug cunts, you'd be right at home there.

I'm still planning to compete ("compete"?) in the Warehouse competition

Ed's an asshole, but that's not news—honestly, I found it pretty hilarious how suddenly everyone turned against him for acting the same way he's been acting for 10+ years, just 'cause the right combination of high-profile forum members happened to call him out for it in the right span of time: the internet hive-mind at work

Deciding not to partake in a competition because you don't want to support the guy running it is totally reasonable, and is exactly how we should seek to effect change in how business are run (and who they're run by). I'll come right out and say, though, that anyone who claimed initially to be interested in the competition and decided to rescind their interest on the basis of that one week's worth of Ed's posts did so as much to publicly tote their high-and-mightiness as to genuinely show protest—otherwise, the decade of posts preceding that week would have been enough to keep them from showing any interest in the first place

Exactly right, and I might just get the competition jeans for spite. I fucking hate bullies to the point that I don't like to see an internet bully get bullied, and that's pretty much what happened in this instance.

For every two posts Ed made, one of them was usually eye rolling-ly bad and the other one didn't really add anything to the conversation and I found that annoying but to suddenly find him persona non grata for the same thing he was doing for at least a decade is some kind of special smug bullshit. The fact that there was, "miracle of miracles", another competition ready to go, straight after all these keyboard heroes decided to get a conscious just makes it stink a little bit worse. Especially considering the fact that, I think it was Kiya that said, it usually takes a year to get a special pair of jeans into production and suddenly the biggest TCB fanboy out there, who suddenly has a major problem with Ed, has news on a new TCB competition. Miracles and wonders.

  6. Judging by the harmonious chorus in most of the replies, I can't help but feel I either made a valid point or hit a nerve.

    Click elsewhere

Your wish is my command  il duce, and I'm sure it's purely coincidental that you, pretty much single handily, made a definite effort to torpedo the Warehouse contest that Ed, for all his faults, was driving, suddenly having a huge issue with the persona he has exhibited since he has been on the forum and then low and behold, the TCB contest was able to start up in record time. Again, I'm sure it was just a coincidence.

Otherwise whats the point in this place ? Sizing questions ? And " nice outfit mate " ? Cool to see good fits and all but without the debate and discussion this place wouldn't interest me

That's another thing, this place has gotten waaaaaaaaay to clique-y recently.

edit. Just wasted 30 minutes of my life going through this shit.

It's déjà vu all over again.

You think this is bad, just wait until you wade in the the endless debates on what makes a "period correct" '44 cut.

Sometimes when you stare in the void, the void stares back.

The forum was all but abandoned by the moderators for years, it's upkeep was funded by charitable donations from it's members, we all did our best to keep it going but then one day one of the mods made a return and without warning deleted 70% of the threads so we didn't get the opportunity to back up any of our research and such...after nearly a month he finally admitted what he had done, but it turned out that it wasn't his fault, it was ours.. so we all bailed it and came back here.

Thanks for that, but in many ways, it raises more questions that it answers.:huh::huh:

  10. I think maybe everybody needs to chill the fuck out a bit, nobody's died after all and I don't think anyone will be purchasing anything from a certain someone in the near future so maybe just change the title to "potential" Warehouse contest or something, the initial poll suggested that Warehouse was the most popular choice anyway?

ur r rite as ever: sorry to be so harsh earlier, didn't expect the other moving parts to come in so early... ready to work on developing the early 80s model with rebuilt.jp? I'll bring the peanuts...

I'm always right, it's a curse, but there you go, it's my cross to bear and as a FYI, I have never owned or even worn Scottish Levi's, the very thought of it.

Early 80's 501's with the "653" Button code however, I would go to war for.

I think deleting the thread might be a bit melodramatic, it might be useful if someone else with contacts starts the thing again, if the Super-future mods want to delete it fair enough, it is their forum after all, but otherwise what's to be gained by deleting it?

Thanks @501XX4EVER, those look great! If these wear anywhere near as nicely as yours I’ll be satisfied. The listing did show busted outseams with a selvedge and a standard red-on-white ticker, so probably a different fabric, but here’s to hoping the yarns used are similar

Anyway, they’re en route from the proxy service as of last night, so we’ll find out soon enough EMS willing

That's wild if they're Selvedge, I don't think Warehouse has made any kind of raw black denim in years so whatever they are they're very old anyway.

The other thing I loved about the 800's were the pocket bags, they were a lovely cream color and had a selvedge finish on the inside of the bottom seam, really nice pocket bags!!!

Anyone have any background info on these? Tag reads 1001XX / 1000, but beyond that and the fabric there's not a whole lot to go off of.

Yes. I recently sold a pair of Lot 800's that look very similar to these, the denim in it's raw state looks exactly the same as the ones you posted, they have the all black thread theme as well. First things first, mine were not Selvedge, so that may take away a bit of the surprise when you get them. The denim is very light, probably not much more than 12oz, if even that. I only washed mine at 30 degrees and they still shrunk a lot, pretty much exactly to tag size which was 34x32, but because of the cut being slightly different to my other Lot 800's it felt a bit smaller. It's very, very hairy denim and fades quite quickly. I also have a pair with the same or at least very similar 1001XX / 1000 patch but they're indigo with a pink Selvedge line. I actually managed to find the original pictures from the Yahoo auctions listing, which is weird as it's from Feb 2018!!!

Can anyone help identify these I purchased off eBay last summer but they look bizarre on inspection

based on my knowledge they have the back tab of a 55, the zip like a 54, the cut of a 55, and the arcs of a 66 with a single sided tab

The pocket bags look like the ones on all the "Made In Turkey" ones, maybe that's why the inner tag was removed, the patch is pretty much definitely a 1966 one.
