  1. Thanks Mecca! That was very useful!

So you would do "soft-shell on soft-shell" with this, as an extra layer?

Yup, if only I was lucky enough to have a DS-j5, that with the cp2 would be my ultimate combo. I almost never where it with anything with a hood, even though the hood is detachable, looses a little of its appeal when it's off in my opinion.
  2. MeccaNIZM and others with CP2s: could you talk a bit about what having one of these as an outer layer adds? Say I have a J25-SS or some GT shell: why would I add this on top? Purely for looks? Adding Interops if your jacket doesn't have it? Or are there other functional characteristics? Neither SS or the S would be waterproof, which seems odd for an outer layer.

For me the aesthetics are a big part. In the event of inclement weather, I'll opt for a gore trench. It is surprisingly good at temperature regulation with the Energear, which by the way isn't listed as part of the new cp2-ss. I typically pair it with a blazer, soft shell or otherwise on the way to and from work. The fabric does provide better than expected water repellency though, anything short of a downpour it's been fine. The hood and Interops are additions for wearing it with minimalist outerwear, but would be redundant with another full-tilt ACR jacket.

  3. Can anyone recommend the appropriate size cp2-SS for someone who wears medium hardshells? Its a loose fit, so not sure if I should size down.

I have a medium in the ss-cp2 as well as others (j3b, j32)

....it does have a loose fit, but the "chest" pit-to-pit underneath the arms still fits like a true medium. It's mostly loose due to the fit block and construction more or less being a square with no real side seams. I'm 6' 162lbs and usually wear it over a soft shell blazer or shirt and sweater, but it's meant to be worn as the outermost layer.

  4. The Acronym (as opposed to Gore) label says Do Not Iron so I'm pretty hesitant to try it. Appleseed recommended in the other thread that I try ReviveX, will give that a go.

ReviveX or Grangers is the way to go... I've used both, i like Grangers best... It doesn't seem to smell as bad.

  5. Not pushing the J29 which I'm selling in the marketplace, but my J29A in small is quite a bit a tighter in fit than the Paclite J29. Maybe from the same template but the sizing may vary depending on fabric and seasons! I have the GT-J18 (another blazer cut) and the J29 is definitely far roomier. meccaNIZM, I'll add some actual measurements later for you.

    Sounds good, thanks!
  6. I've got a medium in the J3B too, which is one of my favorite fitting ACR pieces, and still have a medium in the cp2..... I'm still kicking myself for not picking up a j29, but a small came up for sale, wondering if I should take a chance on it and hope for the best...?....?...

    I'm 6ft typically 162, all my blazers are 38/48

The ACR #'s on the Medium j3b seem to be closer to a Small in the j29

PM'd you about j29... Curious about fit, thanks.

  9. I'm gonna check it out tomorrow, I've got the ss-cp2.

Tao, I'm gonna try on your medium if they haven't shipped it yet!!

    :-)

On the cp2-ss from this year, the soft shell fabric is a little rougher than the ss-cp2... I didn't see the fabric content though to see if it's changed. The color is the same, I think the slightly different shell makes it look darker in the pics, and the seam construction was a little different, but overall fit was the same. J32 is legit, just feels like they spent a month on every detail. J1A is a relaxed fit for sure, like it more than I thought... But would definitely go down a size.

  10. Any differences between the SS-CP2 and the CP2-SS (besides the price and the weight...)? Is it just me or does the new one a little darker?

  11. Heads up to anyone who's looking for pieces from the f/w 13 collection that have been sold out elsewhere. I emailed bodega and they said they will be listing it online soon. Unfortunately (for me) they aren't receiving any stock in size smalls, just mediums - extra larges.

Same with union in Los Angeles .... However, try not to order anything before I can try it all on!!!!!!

    :-)

  12. J3B fits like a glove....it's almost like a bomber/moto type fit. I had no intention of getting it until I tried one on. I still got the same size I usually get.... I have a medium in that and the CP2, which are as different fitting as they come.

  13. So, the J32-GT and J36-GT are almost the same price, but the 36 has interops and the front pocket. What makes you want the J32 over the 36? The fast hood, perhaps?

I'm with you.... J32 is super-clean, never been a fan of the front pouch pocket. 38lp is my fav though .... Was hoping for more if a blazer selection ds-j5 or j29ish....all the jackets seem to fit the same category
