Its interesting to see the dynamic shift particularly from the old ACR webstore, with how things are now. I remember 3rdArm accessories on there for YEARS, even a few of the 5tsr's sat unsold for a year or more, now look at them. I remember mulling over the J36 and deciding to pass, oops, but I think recently people tend to buy what they might want asap with the assumption it's going to sell out then resellers are the only other option.... 30sec isn't enough to time to go over a collection and decide on 0, 1, 2 pieces. Seems to lead to a slight feeling of dissatisfaction with your investment when you get your hands on it.

I believe they also had the J53TS-GT
They did, along with both p24's, and a few other pieces. They seem to only keep ACR in back now, last few drops I've went in and nothing was shown but had it in back and on the website.
...and the markups last season were BIG

Yup, in theory, but as you mentioned, there will always be exceptions
However, those teenagers with thousands of dollars (mommy/daddy money, no doubt) are still just one-in-many. Most of those kids in line fit the "casual streetwear kid" archetype and are trying to buy into the hype, and have much smaller pockets. They're in line because they can't afford resell and can only afford retail Sup products < $150 - $200. Back in the day when it was possible to grab a decent Sup item online within the first 5 minutes of a drop, I remember the higher-priced jackets would sit untouched for a decent amount of time. I attributed that pattern to the above.
In any case, let's say these teenagers shift and decide to divert their thousand-dollar funds to purchasing ACR for the purpose of re-selling. Who's going to be buying them... the common streetwear kid can't afford $3K - $4K ACR resell jackets. Sure, a couple of rich folks will take the bait and buy a few... but the mentality for the general populace who buy into the idea of "streetwear" just can't justify spending that much on one item. The general, smaller populace who buy into the idea of "luxury wear" is a different story (but I'm specifically talking about the streetwear market, which I assume most people associate ACR with).
But yeah, still all speculation. Just my $0.02. We'll see what happens in real life
The demand will always follow the supply... and these kids will eventually be adults with jobs and more disposable income. I don't think the bubble will ever "burst"...best case, it doesn't evolve exponentially and just self-corrects for inflation.

I know this post was probably made as a joke, but it really is this mindset that's gotten us here in the first place. Sellers keep pushing the envelope with extravagant prices, hoping to one-up the previous highest sales price. With the short supply and growing demand, a hyped item (like a 3A bag) might sell for a ridiculous price and the cycle then repeats and gets worse. It's obvious that this is causing a lot of resellers to flock to the brand, and it's gotten pretty bad already (i.e. the DAF release).
For those of us who have been long-term fans/customers, I hope that you guys might reconsider publicly posting these kinds of extreme listings. In the short term, you might potentially benefit from high sales prices, but in the long run it'll cause more harm to everyone than good. For example, as prices are driven higher, more resellers (and hypebeasts) will come to the brand; which will make it a lot more difficult to actually buy the items we want at release. I'm also sure we're due for very significant price hikes given the resale market, so we're going to end up paying substantially more (whether at retail or resale) to continue buying the brand.
It's probably too late to make much of an impact, but it'd be nice if those of us here make an effort to not exacerbate the resell/hype culture we're seeing lately with crazy sales listings
.....and then...

I think we're all guilty of a little naivety.... There will always be supply/demand regarding private party selling, reselling. The ACR initial price point would generally preclude it from much of a resellers market. I could be wrong, but it seems once the first Nike collab dropped and ACR got to the hypebeast world, that's when the obvious "for profit" selling of ACR gear took off.

Are you talking about the snaps for the liner? That's compatible with the J58-WS. J43A-GT wouldn't be compatible with the J53...why would a shell be compatible with another shell? On a different topic, anyone else find that their Lava Prestos are looser/bigger than others? I got the same size in all colors and Lavas feel bigger, but on comparing the sole and where my toe ends up it's exactly the same as my others. Seems like it may be due to stretchier fabric? Anyone else experience this? Might have to size down on these because of this.
I only have that colorway so far, but got mine today and it seems the "lava" portion is looser than the rest of the shoe...so, maybe?

Anyone interested in the volt/lava prestos in size Large? In all my enthusiasm to cop from End. I ordered 2 pairs... They should be here Wednesday, let me know.

Anyone notice this new 3A piece? Any ideas what this is? I just grabbed the J57TS-SS, which blew me away in person. Sadly, it didn't come with these 3A pocket attachments Wishful thinking I know ha!
Did it fit pretty TTS? I usually size down for "straight" which its listed, but looks a little "profile" to me.

Hope that's true - I thought we might have been victim to some kind of post-Presto bot invasion...
Ughhh, there is literally 500+ pairs on eBay right now...

For what it's worth, I heard from an outdoor retailer that the gore-tex fabric has gotten more expensive, therefore also arcteryx and others have like +10% price increase this season.
I've been hearing that as well. While I don't have any specifics, the new fabric is supposed to have made a substantial step forward in performance verses the past several years.

Used to happen every year...
however, I was in talks with bagjack about getting a few X-PAC accessories, they told me all they're "working" closely with acronym and only use X-PAC for their products. Not sure what that means, if it's a licensing thing or actually production. Guess only time will tell.
