GT owners, what is this zipper used for under the collar and above the neck tag of the j16? It was not mentioned in the spec sheet.

For any liner w/ a compatible AUX zip. 58-WS, 65-WS come to mind.

Not sure where this misconception comes from, as someone who works for Gore confirmed that they are not the same fabric.

Where are you getting this? I own the 63PB and bought the north face hyper air for my gf. AFAIK the Norvan SL and the aforementioned jackets are all “permanent beading” surfaces and use the same tech. They have the same handfeel as well.

PB came in two different specifications/formulations I believe and actually is a new tech, the barrier layer is the face layer. Infinium is the subbrand for their non waterproof stuff.

Similar understanding but wasn’t aware that they came in different techs.

Removing Veilance from the equation that is.  There are a ton of flowy and frilly garments that go for 3K or better.  The argument isn't production/output/value, it's more ACRNM being more likened to Recon than Raf for eons and now that they get some shine we all want to complain about hikes.  This was a long time coming.  I for one can't justify 1,167 for the X-Pac 3A-1, especially when I got my Limonta for almost half that but I'm still copping what I like moving forward.  In a nutshell, respect due.  The grind has been a long haul for them and I think it's good to see them get recognized instead of bitten and chewed.  It's about time they start to recoup.

Wasn't your original point that "the technical and performance aspect of the gear" made it worth yohji-esque prices? That's the part that I'm taking issue with, as other brands are selling similarly designed things in similar materials for a significantly lower cost.

You can make the argument that you can't separate the two, but that isn't how i interpreted your original comment. I don't begrudge the ACR team for raising prices, but I think ACR is fully cementing itself in the high-fashion market vs. the hard wearing, technical apparel gear that brought us here in the first place.

To be honest, I think they've been generous.  The technical and performance aspect of the gear could have easily gone for Yohji prices some time ago but it's been a slow and gradual build for years.  This reasoning is more in line with what seems to be happening.  He's taking his spot, which for the amount of time elapsed since its inception, is well deserved.

Speaking strictly about performance/technical aspects of the garments, how can it be generous if other brands are using the same fabric and selling it at 30% the cost? If you want to talk about how the price is a factor of a smaller shop, less capacity, etc. that would be another story - but arguing on performance merit alone seems to fall on its face.

You and me both. I think my PB-J62 might be the last Acronym thing I buy; can't really justify the loony prices when Veilance exists, has a retail store near me where I can try shit on to make sure it fits, and it's all more reasonably priced.

same dawg, same. multiple retailers, goes on sale (what?!), functioning repair department. i was looking at the full priced Norvan jacket. $350 - what a steal! When you're used to ACR prices everything becomes cheap in comparision, lol.

thank you. doesn't damage the ds fabric at all or leave any noticeable markings afterwards?

Nah, no markings. However, i think with enough wear the DS fabric will just start to develop holes. You could argue that shaving may slightly accelerate the process (since you are removing small pieces of fabric), but this route is preferable to me than to have the pills/pulling unchecked.

  7. 3 minutes ago, Kamikaze said:

does anyone happen to know of a way to get rid of the pulls/pilling on ds fabric? notice some near the knee of my pants.

Get a de-piller/de-fuzzer/fabric shaver. Use one on my DS items without issue.

As a fixed-gear riders myself, you should roll your right pant leg up to your calf. Saves you from these types of situations.

I know, I usually wear pants that are tapered -.- . Too late now.

Sorry, I know this wasn't directed to me, but very surprised you got an invoice from UPS. Where are you located? My understanding from having quite a few issues with them and spending a lot of time with customer service is that they won't deliver anything unless duties have been prepaid on the phone / online or someone gives them a check when they drop off the package. Fedex does invoicing post delivery 100% of the time though.

everytime i have dues from ups i will get the invoice a week - two weeks after the item arrives. personally they have never held a package to collect duties before releasing the item.

throwing my anecdote here. last time i tried to pay duties over the phone, but they were having trouble processing my payment. they ended up releasing the package for delivery and invoiced me separately a few weeks later.

thank you, i was thinking in terms of fahrenheit.. warm wash it is. grangers technical wash.. i only have granger's wash and repel which it looks like the label says specifcally not to use. probably gonna do the towel method as i don't own an iron.

Come on man - baller enough to own ACR, baller enough to own an iron (and buy some granger's wash on amazon while you're at it) :). You're right tho, no additional DWR on -DS.

washing DS.. cold delicate wash using the laundress signature detergent.. anyone have anything i should know before i ruin my favorite pants? lol

Cold? Doesn't the care tag say 40 (or 60?) dec C? That is at least on the warm setting. I use Granger's technical wash on the warm setting, in a laundry bag. Hit it with the steam iron after. No issues with any of my DS things (la6, ka2, la3, p17).

Putting the jackets aside for a moment, 368 euros for two 12x20cm zippered-pouches is straight up disrespectful in my opinion.

Yeah - especially when we know that the raw material is a fraction of the total price. with respect to bags - i love my nomin, and i love my mission workshop bags (have 2). I bike as my primary mode of transportation and haul a bunch of shit, so whatever i carry needs to function well. the bagjack/acr ones feel overpriced for what you get (especially when you factor in attachments), and frankly, aren't very comfortable. With Arctery'x, you get repairs, and mission workshop has a _lifetime warranty_. Anyways, will stop shilling other brands in the ACR thread, haha.

I mean, price is determined by all sorts of factors, including the old “what-we-can-get-away-with” metric... but man, there isn’t even a warranty on this stuff. The tech is like five years behind industry leaders, and the customer service is nonexistent. It’s a lot to pay for an aesthetic and a few fun-but-slightly-tired gimmicks. Aren’t you excited to pay more money than last year for interops and forcelock?

Seriously. Find me in the veilance thread, lol. Same fabrics, a customer service dept that does what it’s supposed to, and pieces that go on sale.

.....might cop another pair of p10s tho.

    These are leather no?

I've used Angelus leather dyes to good effect in the past. To get a pink shade I would use one of the light reds and thin it. For charcoal maybe a mix of Spice and Black?

Don't use full strength, it will be too dark, and maybe see if you can get a piece of white leather to experiment on.

Yeah, after some reading it seems like diluting Angelus w/ some denatured alcohol will do the trick. Any guidance as to what ratios to use starting off? Don't have any white leather test strips laying around, haha :(

all you dudes paying 1k+ for acr but bitch about duties. LOL brokebois

    3 minutes ago, nodre said:

right because what kind of broke morons complain about the unaffiliated delivery person marking your paid-for item up 20%? and @CARLOOA putting solid work into communicating how to correct the code is also something only a broke person would do.

Not sure how many of y'all read stuff outside of SuFu/hypebeast.com :D but here is tangentially related article that talks about discretionary vs. compulsory spending, which may help you contextualize this issue

the first W in my Acronym life. Picked up the LF100 in size 9. I normally wear 9.5 so looking to trade these or sell for retail if i can't get a trade.

Someone correct me if i'm wrong but the LF1s fit .5 size large, so you might actually be fine.

It is neutered, but when you have all the other colours. You might as well complete the collection

That being said - does anyone have info on how one would go about dip dyeing these? Just treat them like regular leather shoes?
