What is it you ordered? My NG7 was shipped right the day after, got everything in due time.

J61-GT. Emailed ACRNM and they got back to me right away. Jacket is shipping tomorrow, took longer because it's over 1000 Euros (shipping to US) and it was a national holiday today.

  2. Looks to me like the J61 is using YKK metal zips. I wonder if Acronym heard/experienced any of the criticism from FW15/16 about the Raccagni double zip on the J53TS...

@AvantSol- Can you confirm they are YKK? If so, how do they feel?

Does anyone know if the J58-WS as an inner layer will work well with the J47R-GT?

Obviously, the J47R doesn't have an AuxZip but layering wise, the two fit together incredibly well. The pattern on the J47 allows for significantly more movement than even some other jackets like the J1A-GT (which is AuxZip compatible).

  4. From what I've heard, Acronym has been struggling to keep up with demand and quality of production. I've already heard rumors that even FW17 will be in lower quantities than past seasons so it doesn't surprise me that they are taking SS18 off. I assume it's for similar reasons.

The lack of a hood for the 62 really is a shame because otherwise it really is perfect for torrential rain

For FW17, ACRNM has added a removable hood to the J62-S.

I've had success in the past season using @CARLOOA's advice on lowering duties into the US, but I'm having a ton of trouble importing my J47R. Talked to several different people but no one wants to accept 6201.99.8030 as the correct code.

This is UPS's latest response: "The tariff the importer is suggesting (6201.99.8030) is not correct as that is for other fiber composition with man-made fiber restraints." Anyone else have similar issues and end up successfully reducing the duties?

EZ PZ. Run down why it qualifies.

Update: I was able to get the duties reduced to 7.1% under the tariff 6201.93.4700, which works because the jacket is made up of man-made fibers, meets the requirements of Recreational Performance Outerwear, and is water resistant.

UPS would not accept 6201.99.8030 because Acronym marked the jacket as "Men's Jacket of Man-Made Fibers (6201.9300)". Not as low as 4.2% but much preferable to 27.7%. Thanks @CARLOOA for the above link, which is how I found the new code.

  8. Pretty disappointed right now. I bought a J1A-GT back in April, and just noticed one of the taped seams has torn right by the collar. I know taped seams don't hold up forever but I didn't expect them to start breaking down with less than a year of wear. Has anyone else experienced issues like this?

If anyone has a trusted place in NYC to get it fixed, let me know.

  9. Could do with a few opinions / a little help.

    J1A-GT sizing.

I've spent time reading through the thread and can't quite decide what size I'd be.

The medium could be a little too snug and the large a little too roomy. I was tempted to order to size medium but the J1 video did its job and sold out most of the sizes. I believe Errolson is 183cm and is wearing a medium, it looks perfect on him which makes me think the medium could be a little small.

    I'm 187/8cm (6ft2) and roughly 80kgs. Slim with a 38"(ish) chest

If it helps, I tend to be a large in Veilance. I wear a large quion jacket almost daily and it fits well all over.

In the SI:SP outerwear I own and try on I'm normally a medium, large tends to drown me a little.

I tried the new Nike Alpine jacket and I was medium in that.

Any help would be really appreciated guys

I'm convinced Errolson is wearing a size L in the J1A vid. If you look at product shots where he is wearing M, and the video side by side, the sleeve length in the video is much longer.

  10. Washed my J1A-GT for the first time this weekend. Double rinsed and then tumble dried to re-activate the DWR. Can't tell if I'm going crazy or not but the shell feels like it did shrink up a touch in the sleeves and the length. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

  11. For rough edges on technical fabrics I used a soldering iron and just press it afterwards so as to smooth the edges. You can probably accomplish the same by heating any metal utensil with a lighter.

Thanks I'll give it a shot.

I also think that the aggressive elastication keeps air penetration to a minimum. I think that the alternative would've made the product super similar to the J50.

That was my theory as well that the elastic was intentional to keep your body as insulated as possible. However, I don't think making a similar insulator to the J50 is necessarily a bad thing. Especially when they are no longer selling a WS version of the J-50.
  12. I also received my J58-WS this week but I'm not fully sold on the design. As far as warmth goes, the insulation seems relatively warm but won't know until I test it in the field. The seams and articulation are beautiful as always. I also love how the zipper around the collar is hidden from view unless zipped into a shell.

My least favorite feature of the jacket is the thin elastic band on the bottom. This makes it extremely tight at the waist (and I am a 30 waist with a M jacket) almost to the point where the zipper starts riding up and curling inward. I would have much preferred a speedlock shock cord hem like the J1A has. If you wear the J58-WS unzipped, the liner also seems to have excess fabric that sticks out on the back side. Kind of like it'd bubbling out. Like Carlooa, my J58 also has a rough edge to the left of the zipper. How did you get rid of that Carlooa?

The liner fits decently well under my J1A but leaves little room for any extra layering. I'll definitely be keeping the liner mostly for warmth purposes but I don't plan on wearing the jacket on its own like I originally intended.

  13. Finally received my APC x Kanye Stonewashed denim in the mail today. The fit is perfect except for the waist which is way too big. If anyone with a smaller size (unworn) would want to trade for a size 32, PM me. kiEznzG.jpg?1?8600
