The 1984 Rigids are 40% off (on the UK Levis site anyway). Extra 10% off if you sign up for their email brings them down to just £100 delivered.

I looked at the 8's but the 9 work better for me looking at the size chart.
For the TCB I'm really interested in the 50s denim, there isn't a worn pair that don't look great but the sizings concerning. Both Denimio suggestions and Ryos measurements suggest I could go for a 30 or even 29 waist! That's 2 below my normal size and (excluding Oni which are always well above tagged) of course the smaller the size the smaller the rise and it's already pretty low.
Is people's experience with TCB that they are buying down from their normal tag size ( I fell so Sufu 2009 ) and there's plenty of give in the denim?
Heaven forbid I may have to go slim R for the rise.....
I have the slim R. They are probably the most flattering jeans I own, can’t recommend them highly enough. I wear a 36 and they fit true to size (for reference I can swing a 34 in other brands such as full count) so I personally wouldn’t size down.

@MJF9 damn right my friend. I’d leave to pink ones to Corbett though.

The bright blue denim of the '37 is one of my favourite fabrics.

So, I pulled the trigger om a pair of Shoes Like Pottery on 20% off - thought it was a decent deal. Anyone have something nice or bad to say about them? They're not featured that much in this thread.
They are superb. Got a pair going on 3 years now.

I was always of the assumption that vintage was 25 years. That being said for jeans I would consider 70s and earlier to be vintage. Maybe it’s denial that anything I could conceivably have worn originally could now be considered vintage!

Deadstock 502's can be picked up for a third of that price if you need a Japanese made LVC 60's cut.

Can you share your amazing slimming secrets with us lockdown fatties please @beautiful_FrEaK?
And if you ever think about shifting either of those pairs of 38's....

@Double 0 Soul that’s exactly what I had happen on my m41001 (no patch). The top block was just a bit too trim for me (and I have no arse chicken legs). Mine were a 35, I got them back to a 34 but that was it for any give in the waist.
Lockdown has got me embracing the loose fit of my old (mainly lvc) size 36s around the house and for long dog walks in the sun to get out the house!

Look great mate. I just sold mine, they were always a bit too tight in the waist and never really got worn.
My 41028s are on eBay too. Beautiful jeans but i need a 36 in a higher rise cut.
On the plus side, can spend some time trawling yahoo for more old sugarcane that actually fit me!

Ive noticed a trend recently where you can buy 1/3rd of a pint or 3x different thirds instead of a single pint so you get to sample lots of different beers which might only be around for a day or two, obviously on the back of the craft beer phenom... is this just a UK thang?
They did it in a Reykjavik when I was over there recently. Like the ones Broark has pictured there. 4 local Icelandic beers in 1/3 of a pint glasses on a bit of wood.
Being Reykjavik I recall it costing approximately £28.

I randomly picked up a Shuttle Notes overshirt from one of my local vintage stores. Beautiful slubby fabric. The label inside suggested it was a sample for (UK department store) John Lewis but I couldn’t find any evidence online of the range ever making it into production.

Seems like a few places are charging £190 for rigid LVC models now, End are doing it too. You could always pay £220 for USA/Cone versions from Aeroleather!
£275 for the cone versions at Aeroleather now....

https://www.liquorstoreclothing.com/mens-c15/levis-vintage-clothing-1955-501-rigid-p7221 30% off here. Might be worth checking with the store first though because the description changes when you click on sizes.

The 54z are my denim guilty pleasure....
Picked up a new pair of the rinsed ones (heavily discounted of course). Quality is good, denim nice and hairy with a fair bit of character, sizing spot on tag.

Something I've been thinking about lately is how Superdenim seems to have been completely taken over by the British.
The British in their mid 40's to be precise!

Mrs Tarbuck has been cultivating a sourdough starter in the kitchen since the weekend. I’d blamed the rotten smell on the dog until I was educated in the cultivation process.

Have you taken a look at the Slim R? Cut looks closer to the catboy slim than the 50s slim.

I've got a pair tagged 40 that measure 37ish laid flat. Not sure if they'd stretch to tag as I've always needed a belt to keep them up.
