I’m with @Double 0 Soul on this. T-shirt’s are the one thing I refuse to pay decent money for, I can trash them in a few weeks over the summer or they just act as an extra hidden layer in winter. I’m finding the uniqlo 2 pack supima ones are pretty good as they are long in length and the sleeves are more capped than most tees I’ve tried.
@Geeman Ironheart are the thickest tees I’ve tried. Fit was pretty regular, nothing wild.

Carrying on from the theme of max powers 50's slims I thought I'd share my thoughts on the catboy slims as there seems to be very little info out there on them. I was fortunate to pick this pair up from eBay in barely used condition, already hemmed to my leg length for just £31. The listing was pretty bad though and while there were limited pictured measurements that looked like they should fit but there was no mention of their tag size. Didn't realise the size tab was sewn into the watch pocket. So I'm normally a 34 but these are a 36. As max mentioned in his thoughts on his 50's slim, sizing up is not a problem with the TCB slim cuts as it gives a bit more rise.
Size wise they fit true to size in the waist, front rise on a size 36 is 11 inches and leg opening is 7.25 inches but these have been shortened to a 28 inch inside leg so maybe the taper carries on a bit? Speaking to Ryu at TCB he reckons the catboy fabric has about 0.5 inches more stretch in it than the 50s fabric.
Although they are not a pair of jeans I'd normally go for I'm really enjoying wearing them. The denim pops with some beautiful purple hues, the patch is beautiful and wearing them oversized makes them really comfortable (even with the unflattering Lee wide pocket placement!).
And a few crappy images...

Sacked it off last year to go back to college to study animal care with a view to working in animal welfare.

Ha ha, that’s been stuck in my head all week.

I had that on a pair of converse. Working on my feet all day and cycling to and from work never got rid of it. If there’s a nuclear blast it will just be that stuff and the cockroaches left.

It’s a fairly straight 50s cut with a slight taper Jimmy. I think they’re more like a size 32 really so not overly loose on me but fit comfortably. Other than trying them on, they’re still unworn although they’ve definitely been bought to wear rather than just keep.
Sounds good, the LVC Japan guide on denimbro implied they were quite wide legged for a 50’s cut.
Definitely wear them, LVCJ made some lovely stuff.

Very nice indeed. What’s the cut like on those?

Chuck it in a 30 degree wash mate, it’ll be fine. Done it loads with mine and it didn’t shrink or get damaged a jot.

Beauties!
They were a step up from the NFL sweatshirt that everyone at school had despite having no knowledge of the sport let alone the team plastered across their chest.

Soviet was a fashion brand

We used to get all our gear from a jeans shop in Leicester that stocked all those types of brands (sonetti, firetrap, diesel) along with cheaper variations of them (sweatshirts with stuff like “easy co” embroidered on them). This would have been early 90’s.

Naf Naf if you had money, Naf Co 54 off Leicester market if your parents were tight arses.
NewMan was pretty big in my school along with Chipie and Chevignon. All the girls wore Sweater Shop jumpers.
Troop, Travel Fox or Ewing trainers if you wanted to stand out from the hoards of reebok pump and Adidas torsion. Or just go with a pair of timberland boat shoes.

Sorry, my old boots (Italian-made Reebok in black leather, bought circa 1995 - matching the stud key, second left) fell apart when I was having a kickabout in the park with my son a couple of years ago - the sole fell off completely in the mud. I replaced them with a pair of old-school black leather Puma on deep discount at Pro-Direct soccer for the twice-yearly lads v dads match at my son’s rugby club (probably the poorest club in London, by the way).
Anyway, all this reminiscing about Farahs, Pringles (and probably Lyle & Scott polo-necks) when I’m sure @Jimmy Tarbuck still wears all that schmutter!
Ha ha, the more garish the argyle on your Pringle sweater, the better the golfer I say.
Those Head bags were amazing. Fond memories of the thud of a football against them when they’d been stacked 6 high to make a playground goalpost.

Fromjapan are very efficient.
They let you mark the package as gift too but sadly no longer let you mark the value down although you can deduct japan VAT from the item price on the shipping document.

For UK at least Fedex seems to be running fine. I had something shipped from Japan yesterday and it's due tomorrow.
I've discovered FedEx to way more efficient than EMS once you factor in that EMS shipments have to go through UK parcel force customs.

A couple of recent pick ups from the depths of Yahoo and a good opportunity to give this thread a bump as it's been a great resource!
I am cursed/blessed with a short inseam and 34 waist which means I can often swing a few bargains on Yahoo that you freaks with a regular inseam have to pass over! Anyhow...
M41001 No patch, small diamond arcs but branded buttons instead of the laurel leaf buttons on @Double 0 Soul pair above. These are tagged 35 but came measuring about 32. After a cold wash and a coat hanger to wedge the waist open they are at 34. Inseam is 28.

Cheers @Double 0 Soul
I suspected that would be the case!

I can see from the cut of mine how that would happen. Strange that they are different. Any idea which was the accurate repro of that era?

Pretty much unworn Japanese Type 1 picked up from eBay.
Care label suggests 97 as the year of production I'm guessing. Seller listed it as bought from Cinch in the late 90's, unworn and then stored until now. Theres a tiny bit of wear to the cuffs but it feels unsoaked and was a good price so I'm happy with it.

They look pretty worn in already so I doubt they'll shrink anymore.
They look like a nice score for the money, just embrace the weird fit!
