  1. Mine has the woolmark label, so that means it's mid 70's to late 80's. What models are most desirable by collectors? The older the better?

The lady who owns the store where I found them for 20€ mentioned that she regularly gets Pendletons from the 30's and 40's, and that they are probably worth a lot more than whatever she's selling them for. She also sells big E type 3 jackets for 30€, which is a steal as most vintage stores around here will charge you around 200€ or more (even up to 250€ at Beyond Retro). I'm just waiting for her to get one in my size!

    Edit:

http://www.facebook....id=382834033348 more info on Pendelton labels.

  2. Anyone knows how to date old Pendletons? I bought this vintage Pendleton shirt for a ridiculous sum of money (50€), it's way to big but the plaid pattern is one of the nicest I've come across. I'm guessing it's not very old, maybe 70's.

I recently found another place that sells them for 20€, which I think is a fair price.

  3. That's my problem with RW's they're longer, but also narrower than other boots of the same size. Maybe you can try a wider width.

Do they really come in different last widths? I haven't seen anything but D last in europe at least.

Anyway, I got a pair of 6" round toe in size 10.5, which would be a half or a full size up from my normal size. They fit really well, width is perfect and the arch support is in the right place. The heel slips around a little bit even though I am wearing my medium weight smart wool socks, so I do expect some blisters. I have maybe half an inch left between the edge of my toe to the end of the boot, which allows some toe wiggeling. They fit almost exactly the way a hiking boot is supposed to fit, except for the heel slip. I think maybe a half size down would have been alright after a few weeks of breaking them in, but they didn't have any left in stock.

The down side? They look fucking hilarious. Like heritage clown shoes. Especially since I'm short, I think a tall person would have been able to get away with it. I always wear slim straight jeans (LVC 505), which only exaggerates the clown effect.

To sum it up: If you have wide feet, don't listen to all the bullshit about how RW's run large, cause they really don't. Don't order a pair online, go in to a store and try them on. Also, wear heavy socks, the boots are designed for that and they won't fit properly unless you do.

  4. How do you guys with wide feet size your RW's? I had a pair a while ago, I went down a full size to get the length right, but they ended up being so narrow I had to get rid of them. Now I found a pair of 6" round toes at a very good price, so I am tempted to give RW another go.

Should I just go for my normal size, as opposed to the general half/full size down? I tend to wear heavy socks, so maybe even half a size up? Are there any measurement charts that tell the width of the last?

  5. A bit different (price and design wise) from what has been posted earlier in this thread, but a work shirt nonetheless. but I just got this '50s tab twill shirt from LVC.

Boxy, super comfortable fit. The fabric seems to be a tight weave, but it's washed so its still quite soft. Comes in a wide range of colors, I liked this one and the khaki.

  6. Hello everyone, long time lurker but this is my first venture into actually posting here.

A few days ago, I bought the Ranch Blouse in a beautiful unsanforized 12 oz denim. This is pretty much the only MF piece I have ever liked (I guess MF is one of those brand you either hate or love), but I just couldn't get along with the fit. I bought a 38, but it was huge in the wrong places. The arms were massive and at least 2" too long, and there was so much excess fabric in the back it "puffed up" like a balloon (just like earlier posters have mentioned). It was still quite tight across the shoulders, and alright across the chest. The lenght was fine, I think it would have been to short for my likings if it shrank an inch or so.

I ended up taking it back to the store, which was a bit sad. I know it's supposed to shrink a lot, but would a hot soak magically have solved my problems? It wasn't so much the fact that it was big, but more the sort of overall proportions of the jacket (short body, huge arms) that I had a problem with. Did it fit like this for you guys too?
