  1. Did you size up for extra room or do they run small? For some reason the bird is obsessed with huge leg openings.

Small was okay but a little tight over the thighs. As I'll use them for climbing I'll need the extra room.

  2. If those are the 2013 palisade pants, looks like they fixed the fit. Bird pants usually fit horribly.

Yes, these are from the current season. I'm normally a 30" (or small) but sized up to a medium on these. I would have preferred them to be slightly more tapered though.

  3. I've bought so much gear lately. Someone asked about the Arc Teryx Solano, this is what it looks like:

I wear it all the time, even for high intensity cycling in cool weather. Light, packable, relatively inexpensive and a much nicer fit than the regular stuff.

I also got the Palisade pants. Very light weight and a little stretchy. They are hemmed like normal trousers, so you can easily roll them up all the way to the knee. This is what I will wear for climbing and hiking this summer.

I also found an old pair of Klättermusen Gleipner (all ETA-proof heavy duty hiking trousers) at work. I can post a picture later if anyone should be interested.

  4. My girlfriend picked up a couple of odd pieces from the London store that I can't recall having seen online. A five panel hat with a crocodile leather strap and a lightweight stretchy box logo cotton beanie. Could they be older season stuff or were they just never on the website?

    edit:

Nevermind, they are just not on the webshop.

  5. Silent tees are awesome, but lets not derail the techwear thread, dudes.

Anyone seen the arc'teryx solano hoody in person? Im quite enamored with it's minimalist design. http://arcteryx.com/...l=Solano-Jacket

Yeah, we did a bulk buy on Arc'teryx at work, so I could get anything at trade price + tax. Among other things I bought the Solano. The cool thing is that it is fully seam taped, which means it's actually completely waterproof (Windstopper and Gore-Tex is pretty much identical) but half the price of a 3-layer shell. It's lined with a thin fleece lining, so too warm to wear in the summer. There is a big reflective logo on the side of the arm. A shame really, but the lack of the logo is why you pay a premium for Veilance, so it does make sense.

I also got these for climbing:

The Zenith was a holy grail for me for a long time. I only kept it for a few months though. Right now I'm looking for a 90's Rolex 16710 with pepsi bezel.

  7. Synthetic and/or cotton sneakers are awful with or without socks. Shoes should be all leather with a cork or latex footbed, which are naturally antimicrobial materials. My CP:s are still pretty much boxfresh even though I only wear them sockless. Letting them dry before putting them in again is essential. I sometimes use cedar wood shoe blocks to make sure they stay fresh. I have been experimenting with liquid chalk to prevent perspiration, but it doesn't really work. If i use socks I only use merino wool ones.

    OCD and proud!

  8. Anyone else had problems with the Flynt Pizi? I tried on a pair the other day, and they were the wierdest fit ever. Really long and narrow, and the left one had a very strangely placed seam that dug into the side of my foot. I tried on my normal dress shoe/common projects/converse size, maybe sizing down half a size is better? Does anyone know if they will stretch out a little?
