  1. I live so far away from the closest climbing gym now i can barely go there once a week, so I'm not progressing at all. i don't know how the american bouldering grading system works, but I have been stuck at 6b+/6c for like a year of (very casual) climbing. I'll assume this is equivalent to v4/v5. I have decent technique, but I really need more finger strength to push the grades further.

A few days ago I was offered an interview for a climbing instruction position, but turned the offer down because i just started working for another company. Dumbest fucking decision of my life. I tried calling the woman back like 5 times and sent her 2 text messages telling her i was still interested in the position, but no reply as of yet.

I also got these quite recently:

Very different from what i'm used to, but has definitely improved my climbing.

And these, a bit to geeky for the gym but will probably be good outdoors.

  2. option A, in the grey with white logo

1 - Spend 80% of income on central london apartment.

    or

2 - Live in suburbs with 40 min commute, spend 100% on fun shit.

Which areas do you consider central? When I lived in London, I lived in the east docklands area, very near the Excel center in Royal victoria docks. definitely not central, but very easy to get to (DLR, which by far is the best way to travel in London, to Bank is like 20 minutes) and way cheaper than anywhere decent in zone 1. I'd say this would be sort of halfway between inner city and suburb.

  3. Nothing special, but this is a part of me and my fathers "collection".

Random automatic 70's divers watch, Quartz Seamaster in solid gold, Electronic Omega F300, quartz Luch calendar watch (copy of an old Raketa i believe, we also have an older mechanical Orient version somewhere), Tissot Visodate and my Seiko Monster.

the only semi-interesting piece would be the F300. They are somewhat difficult to find in working condition, as it's hard to find parts for them, but this one was repaired by a friend and is now working perfectly.

Sorry for the terrible iphone pictures!

  4. I can get this very cheap:

Kona Hei Hei titanium frame, carbon fork, all super high end parts. Yes or no? I'll probably convert it to a single speed, and only use it for commuting. It's either this (300 euro) or a new Bianchi Sei Gironi (1000 euro), though they are completely different bikes. I'm figuring that if i don't like this for commuting, i'll just get a new fork and tires and use it as an XC bike.

  5. I've used safety razors exlusively for the last 4 years, and you can't really compare it to using newer Gilette razors. The internet is flooded with instructions on how to use them, but here are my personal tips.

First, let your beard grow for a couple of days and study how the hairs are growing. No beard is the same, so you have to know the direction of your hair before you start shaving. Then, use very hot water and lather up with a high quality shaving soap. I prefer to buy shaving soaps with as little ingridients as possible, no parabenes, alcohol or sodium laurate sulphate. Let it sit in for a while, then start shaving in the direction of the growth. When you are finished, lather up the soap again and shave again, this time across the growth. Some people shave against the growth, but i always cut myself when i try this. Shaving across the grain will result in an equally smooth shave.

Then I just rinse with really cold water and pat dry with a towel. I rarely use a moisturizer, as it's not really needed.

  6. I bought a black Buzz Rickson sweat the other day! Super impressed by the softness and the construction. Does it shrink at all? I ended up with a large, which is slightly too big for me, but the medium was too tight across the shoulders, so I'm hoping it will at least tighten up a little bit after a wash.
