  1. Does anybody know what armpit of the world people wear this garbage in?... Yeah... It's called Europe... This looks like old G-star paired with pumas... gotta be euro-trash...

I don't think this is entirely true. This is what happens when arabs and turks try to emulate euro-trash. Seriously, go to Turkey and you'll see nothing but this shit. In spain, similar stuff is around, but not this bad.

  2. This forum needs a thread for us outdoor gear junkies. Tents, gadgets, technical clothing, climbing gear or whatever. Just as long as it is rugged, manly and outdoorsy it fits the bill.

Here is my climbing setup. I've been climbing for a while but just got my own rope and quickdraws. Cheapest stuff possible so its all on the heavy side, but it works for me.

Red Chili shoes (needs a resoling, but can't find anyone to do it for me), Black Diamond wiregate quickdraws, Beal 10.2 mm rope, Black Diamond harness + a couple of screwgate biners and a BD sling for stand protection.

So please, pictures and words about your arc teryx hardshells, massive trad racks, mountaineering boots or whatever.

  3. Getting captured by the romans and being forced to work in a silver mine wouldn't have stopped me. I would've started riots and shit, and be so cunning and strong motherfuckers wouldn't even know what hit them. I reckon i could have gone on for a couple of years, hiding out in the mountains and doing raids on roman settlements and caravans, freeing more slaves and building an army as i go. Eventually, they would probably catch me and torture me, but i wouldn't betray my friends so they would execute me. Eventually, word would spread about me getting killed, so the riots would spread all over the lands and deliver the final blow to an already decadent empire.

my legacy would live on forever.

  4. This thread has a lot of potential, we can't just let it die!

Anyway, I'm climbing in tenerife this summer, and it's so good. Most of the climbing spots are located in canyons (barrancos). The largest canyons are located close to villa de arico, I think there are around 250 routes, mostly bolted sport routes (from 5a to 7c+ i think, and ranging from 12 to 30 meters in height). The rock is mostly basalt, smooth texture with loads of deep pockets and nice chunky holds. There is also a different type of rock which is sharper and with more ledges, and sometimes the two rock types blends in to each other within the same route. There are quite a few classic crack and chimney routes as well.

I have done maybe 15 routes so far, the most difficult ones being 6b's. I'm comfortable with lead climbing, but I'm still not very good at cleaning the routes, but i think i'll have it down in a couple of more sessions.

I hope to be able to stay here when the climbing seasons starts in october, and hopefully be able to work with tourism and help develop this amazing climbing area. Many people don't know about the climbing here, and it's really only in the last few years people have started going here. it's really one of the few places in europe that has good climbing in the winter (with a total of 3 days of rain last year). It's located close to the airport and close to the beaches, so you can arrive in the morning, climb during the day, then go surfing in the afternoon.

Hit me up if you want to come climbing here, i have good connections and can hook you up with cheap accommodation, gear and guides and whatever.

  5. What i find problematic about buying clothes is that everything in my (vertical) size is too tight over my chest and shoulders, so i have to size up. Most of my shirts are way too long, and tailoring is super expensive here.

What i need are brands that make short and wide fitting clothes. Sportswear brands like nike usually fits perfectly,

Also, what i like about this thread is that even though i'm really short, i'm still taller than most posters here.

  6. You know what i fucking hate? Rich people who act all poor.

    Person 1:

Dirty, smelly, old man comes in to my store and asks for a hat. I show him the rack of hats and he picks one out. Its a plain black one with a the north face logo on. He looks at the price, contemplating over the price (maybe £20) for a few seconds and then mumbles something and walks to the till. When i scan the item, the scanned price is higher than the marked price, which was completely normal as this was the day after the Vat went up last year. He got really mad because of this, and told us how this was illegal and how we were all breaking the law and how he'd accept it just to be nice, but that the next person walking in wouldnt't be etc etc etc.

"What a poor old motherfucker", i thought to myself as he handed over his credit card. Guess what? He gave me his black titanium amex centurion card.

    Person 2:

Dirty, smelly old lady with tattered old berghaus clothes. She was quite nice and all, and was looking at this £500 ski jacket. I thought to myself "aw, she is really nice and all, but there is no way she'll be able to afford that jacket". Well, she decided to buy it, and when we went to the till she handed me a Coutts credit card. Boom.

  7. for those who have a master-piece fade, how does it fair in really heavy rain? ive went through several bags lately and ruined a couple books in some heavy rain. any suggestions on brands or fabrics that are good in rain? or waterproofing sprays

most decent bags use waterproof or highly water resistent fabrics, but very few brands go all the way in and seam tape their bags. avoid anything with a lot of seams and exposed zippers. if there are storm flaps to cover the zips, make sure they have a laminated membrane underneath, if the zippers aren't pu-coated that is. but i'd avoid pu coated zippers too, as they are very unreliable. if you want a proper rain proof bag, get something with a roll top. a seam sealed bacpack with a roll top will be expensive, but if it uses a good membrane you can pretty much drop it in the sea and it will remain dry on the inside. arc'teryx makes one thats super expensive and techninja as hell, i think its called arrakis. Exped makes some good ones too, but they are ugly.

but really, you could just get a raincover for like 10 bucks and put it on if it starts raining.

  8. I dont think LVC shirts runs small. The twill shirts are quite short and wide, and the two pocket sunset shirts are slim-ish and long. The sunset shirts are definitely larger though.

I think that a medium sunset shirt fits slightly larger than a slim fit Ralph Lauren oxford in medium, if that's a good reference point for you. A lot of their shirts are linen-cotton blends, and in my experience linen stretches a lot. Most of their shirts are heavily washed to, so no shrinkage.

I think they size their jeans so that they correspond to how they would have been worn originally. If you look at photos from the 50's, a lot of younger guys are wearing fairly slim fitting jeans. So, instead of sizing down and doing the bath tub soak, you get your normal size but with a slimmer and more flattering fit. I think this has been discussed earlier in this thread.

  9. fuck, crashed my bike this morning and ripped my 505's again! is there anything i can tell my tailor to do to prevent this from happening a third time? like reinforce the entire man area with some sturdy fabric?

  10. Has anyone seen the fall/winter lookbook yet? As already mentioned in the thread, the themes are boxing gym and biker. Some interesting pieces, like a lined sac coat, plenty of henleys, customized 1966 501 and also the 1920's chinos in black, which i am super excited about.I couldn't see them in the lookbook, but this is what i was told by the guy at unionville.

  11. Why are normal 5-panels and classic box logo tees so hard to find? Nothing good in the sales forum (only one seller who stopped responding a long time ago) so I even went over to hypebeast, but couldn't find anything without crazy jungle prints and shit. Nothing goodon Ebay, and of course the web shop is no good. Are the normal, plain colored box logo stuff available in store only or are they just not made anymore?

Help me sufu, how do i supreme?

  12. For those of you who have the hawaii jeans: will they ever stop itching? I tried on a pair and they felt sort of like wearing a pendleton shirt with nothing underneath. Am i just over sensitive (as in not being man enough) or will they stop itching once they're broken in? They were the one wash version.

  13. Leather pretty much waterproof when treated properly. Also, buying insulated shoes make no sense, just buy a pair of leather boots, size up half a size (or a full size) and wear double socks (one thin liner sock, one heavy merino sock for insulation) and you'll be fine. If you've got space left and you're still cold, get a wool insole.

  14. I was actually diagnosed with AS and ADHD when i was in my early teens. I remember doing a longer version of this test, as well as various other tests over the course of a few days. Having that diagnose fucked my life up for a few years. Knowing i was different would constantly haunt me, and if i was bad at socializing before, it only became worse. After that, i was drawn in to the wonderful world of child psychiatry. I've taken so many anti depressives, uppers, downers and anti psychotics it freaks me out to think about it.

Anyway, as i grew older i stopped being a dumb kid and decided to become an adult. After finishing school, me and my girlfriend moved to a new country. I didn't have anywhere to live, no job and wasn't very good at the language. Somehow, it all worked out fine, and within a couple of months i had a nice flat, a decent job, a bank account and all that, in a city i didn't even know. Up until then, i had never even made my own dinner or cleaned my own room. Suddently, i could do everything i had been told i wouldn't be able to.

Long story short, a couple of months ago i went to a psychiatrist who is regarded as being the best autism specialist in sweden. After speaking to him for half an hour, he looked at me and told me that he couldn't believe i was autistic, and that my diagnose probably was wrong in the first place. he also told me that the social problems i had as a teen probably was due to social phobia or anxiety, and that some of my other symptoms could be because of my adhd.

For me, the diagnose didn't do any good. I think i was just slower in my maturing process than other kids, but the diagnose only made that worse. The moment i started pushing myself, i could do anything.

  15. How much lower are Visvim retail prices in japan (as in compared to european or american prices)? I know someone who can proxy for me, or possibly buy stuff at the F.I.L and send them to me.
