now I get to walk out of my last exam before the holidays to the glorious news that the spurs are the champs

Anyone else have a similar mindset?
I'm enjoying boosting my fitness and being able to see a side of places I haven't before. You miss a lot of cool stuff driving everywhere.
running/urbex club
Don't know if I'll ever get hung up on bringing my marathon time under 3hrs or improving pace overly or whatever - guess I'll see when I start running marathons

ihaveaccount = patrick bateman.
read that whole passage in christian bale voice then imagined him cutting off dovo's head with an axe for being way more superawkward than him.

been doing 2.5-3.5km runs over the past few weeks - it's pretty amazing how much my speed/endurance has improved in such a short space of time. really psyched to keep going and keep improving, though I'll start getting diminishing returns at some point I imagine...

so it turns out book 3 is split in two parts and I only have part 1. All I could think of during the red wedding was "this wasn't in the book"

that's a pretty gross generalisation okayx2...
edit: actually read the hitchens article. it's clearly satire. or if not it's also a pretty gross generalisation.

her: "Am I getting fat?"
me: "What? No, of course not! Are you serious?"
"It's ok, you can tell me."
"I'm serious, you're not. If you're so worried about it, why don't you come running/hiking/swimming w/ me next time I go? Or we could start eating healthier. Or we could try for the channel swim next year or something?"
"Nah *generic excuse*"
Proceeds to keep eating shit, coke and juice all the time instead of water or whatever. You're not getting fat, but when your metabolism starts slowing down in a few years...
could almost x-post into haterism.

got endomondo today and want to start running proper in the next couple weeks.
only issue is i'm getting blisters from my shoes whenever I wear them for more than 10-15 mins (they don't fit well - hoped they might break in a little but they didn't at all).
Money is tight for me right now (shoutouts to jackg) so I'm kinda loathe to buy new shoes - should I put them at the bottom of the list of commitments and get decent ones in the indeterminate future (at least 2-3 weeks away), or could I make do with your $60 pair of shoe store in house brand shoe? Would basic cross trainers do the job or are dedicated running shoes the go?
Haven't really ever run seriously in the past so I'm rather clueless as to shoes...

i don't know, i've never had a problem ordering knives online - saying that, i've never tried ordering some huge rambo bowie knife or anything. the biggest thing i've ever carried in public is an opinel no. 8 and if i was busted with it i'd probably be in some trouble.
fixed blades aren't an issue (though "swords" do get seized so depending on the rambo-ness of your blade...)
any locking folder that is openable with one hand is on the restricted items list nowadays so any spydie, benchmade, etc etc etc are all liable to be seized.
friction folders, SAKs and other multitools (even those with locking blades that are one hand openable) are generally still ok, though customs in this country has always been ridiculous - shit will get seized on questionable legal basis and there is next to no administrative appeal possible. occasionally it's dickish customs officers taking stuff for themselves (apparently), though generally it's just subjective application of the law.

fuck it, I'll try again this year. Also down to help with organising if need be

conq - where/how do you get locking folders in the country now with all the crazy knife legislation they've brought in in the last few years?

WHAT is that knife?! looks sick. also the wear on that wallet is pretty sweet

apparently not, unless i am a total idiot (possible). looking at launchers now.
if you're talking about the s3 (and maybe other android phones?), you can't change any of the dock icons with the latest android operating system - they took a bunch of the customisability out of the touchwiz ui. samsung deliberately restricted all australian carriers' firmware like this for some bullshit unknown reason. afaik they haven't done the same anywhere else.
was considering rooting my s3 to get around it, but I just tried out nova launcher and action launcher and managed to get my phone set up pretty much perfect. don't need That much customisability so a custom launcher with some widget architects and icon packs was more than enough for me.

saw world war z couple nights ago, pretty entertaining. cinema was packed out. someone put on a pretty convincing zombie voice halfway through and a woman literally shit her pants and started crying (plus a couple others freaked a bit). movie itself was fairly mediocre
